[Q] lanucher pro on warm 2.2 help - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay so just flashed warm 2.2 and I love having launcher pro because of the transition when flipping threw pages and 3d apps when scrolling through the apps. I'm not sure if launcher is something to be running as a daily but I do. It shows great eye candy to my phone which I'm every happy with. Now my question is to save even more battery when I work is to toggle mobile network on top of my kernel I am running. The only thing is I can't find a 1. Widget 2. Shortcut. For it. I hate going into my settings and I do it .. little on the lazy side. so can you help me? Thanks.

There are plenty of free Widgets in the market for toggles to turn off data, wifi, etc.

Ya just not trying to pay 1.13 off the batt. Might have to but trying to see some alternative first

[Q] AnimMod

Anyone else using the AnimMod app from the market? Feelings on it? Ive been using it for about a week now and am experiencing some lag, but i really like the anims and dont want to get rid of it, so is there something i can do to make it more snappy? thoughts?
Running:
Droid Incredible AMOLED
Skyraider 3.5 w/Uncommon
HeyItsLou #8
It's pretty cool
About the lag, anim mod just replaces the transition files within your Rom so for you to have a lag
Either the transition files are broken or your Rom lags

Thanks for the input.
I reset the animations back to stock then uninstalled the app. After re-installing it and rebooting, it seems to have corrected the problem. I was just a little leery of deleting it at first, obviously I'm pretty new to this ha.

Once you get into this you won't go back haha

[Q] Touchwiz launcher

If anyone is using it, is it still a battery hog like it was in eclair?
Sent from my never been rooted, stock Froyo Epic.
While not exactly what you were asking I think the main reason most people aren't/weren't using it because it was:
1. Ineffecient
2.Lacking even basic features (like being able to move icons, although that might have changed, personally I don't use it and never will)
3. It looks like a KIRF iPhone.
Not to say it wasn't a battery hog but even if it wasn't I'm sure most people aware of other launchers wouldn't be using it.
K thanx for the input. I know the dock shortcuts can now be changed and the number of screens can too. Plus it now has pinch to zoom on the homescreen and app drawer. I like what has changed, but I'm afraid it eats battery like before. Can anyone who uses it reply?

I use it but just cause I like the program monitor widget and my battery life is great I can't really give any numbers because I haven't really flashed a battery mod yet

Neither have i it seems to use a little more battery just by being on touchwiz launcher. I normally use lp.

I haven't noticed any battery issue, but have had to clear the cache in app manager because of FC when I open the keyboard or hit home from being 2 or more programs deep... I can manage, I like it enough.

I guess that I'm in the minority because I actually don't mind the touchwiz launcher. I haven't really notices it being a battery hog, but I'm not running a bunch of widgets and a only using 3 homescreens

I just saw the video on galaxy s2 I would love to see the touchwiz 4.0 on our phones. I like how that looks

Ok thanks for the replies. Seems its not.

CM7 android system too high.

Okay so I noticed that even with the Tiamat kernal my battery life hasn't been great. I always see above 60% android system usage. I recently did the "GPS FIX" but I never upgraded my pri or NV. I need some help, I may skipped a step.

I would update all of your radios. Also, I think in settings under privacy, unclick back-up. Also, have you considered turning down how often your phone syncs?
It also could be a rogue app stealing resources... Let's start with my first suggestion, radios are in my Sig.

Okay this is weird, I turned off background data and now no system use. Is that saying it's a rogue app?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
How many days was it high android use?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
Ever since I flashed the GPS fix but possibly after Google+ app. Either way its at 81% usage.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
It's still high as hell ATM. 77% consumption. I don't understand. Wish I could get some help.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
There is a fix for it you'll have to search for it I only saw it once
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
Someone had a link for me in their sig but they changed it...and I searched to no avail. Sad cause I don't want to ditch cm7 for something so dumb. Just want my GPS to work without having my android system through the roof. Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo is on the other line. -.-

I had the same problem. Here's the fixes I did before I finally just ditched CM7
I updated my radios (and everything else).
All my syncs were on 4 hour intervals (except weather = 1 hour)
lowered screen brightness
uninstalled facebook, g+ and gVoice (my 3 highest used apps).
rebooted about 6 times
held it wrong
prayed to the gods of android
flashed Synergy RC2
So if you were considering doing those, don't. They aren't the problem.
Ironically, my GPS has never had a problem on any aosp rom (and I've tried darn near all of them), but like you, even with the kernels my stuff just wouldn't work right. I think it has something to do with our phones just not liking the kernel. Give toastch's "godmode" kernel a try or flash back to stock to see if that helps.
Ok so switch kernals or just switch to synergy?

Would it be possible to strip some .apks out of MIUI for use with CM7

I like MIUI, I really do, but it seems I just cannot keep it from lagging my phone to death. I have tried different kernels and setcpu to no avail.
I really love the launcher and the way notifications drop down from the status bar instead of popping up in a box.
Is there any way I can move this functionality over to CM7? Or maybe there is some way to duplicate it?
Thanks all.

Try looking into vipermod and v6 supercharger. I run both on my evo and it doesn't lag at all.

Inactive user rom

I got this epic as a extra phone and I'm trying to find a inactive ROM so I can use WiFi and use it as a gaming and music device.. thanks
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
I guess not
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
What do you mean by "inactive"? Like the phone is no longer being used for calling/texting and is not on a contract of any sort?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
Exactly.. just looking for a ROM to use as a tablet for games n such.. one that takes up little space.. right now I'm on slim ROMs...
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
Honestly, that's probably the smallest ROM you'll get, you can remove a lot of stuff from the system like ringtones, notification sounds, etc.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
I let the kids play with my spare Epic as a gaming device. Just keep it in airplane mode w/ wifi enabled. Then I hide the phone app in the launcher so they're not opening it by accident.
I doubt any reasonable amount of space would be recovered by removing the phone app altogether.
Random king made a WiFi only version of thunder hawk... I had it somewhere if I find it I'll happily spread the goods.

Dudes ROMs were pretty intense. My one e4g ran beautifully on thunderhawk.
