I just spent 2 hours trying to root my cousins wildfire, i tried unrevoked 3.21 and 3.32 and neither was able to root my desire. I then tried alpharevx which said found a wildfire and asked me for the beta key which i very carefully entered:Xqks1OECBc9WBRAu and that told me invalid beta key! Now as the phone was detected by both programs I am baffled as to why it wasn't working. The phone is on orange UK but not simlocked, it also appears to be unbranded..can anyone suggest what keeps going wrong?
did you try replacing letter"O" with "0". Also instead of capital I, try lower case L.
Or better yet, just copy and paste the code.
Good luck.

Sorry for the stupid question but how did you get that beta key?
Did you get it from alpharev site by entering your wildfire's serial number? This is what you should have done.
if your answer is yes, then maybe you can paste that code in word and change the font so that you can distinguish different characters.

Do this and I assure u will get rid of key errors. Hope u r on windows7 pc platform.
First connect the wildfire to pc with usb debugging enabled. Then open command prompt and CD into adb folder (assuming u have adb ). Then type the command "adb devices". Now it shows ur serial number in command prompt. Right click inside command prompt and make "select all". Then press CTRL + C . Now create a text file somewhere and right click inside that and paste. Now u will have serial number in text file.
Then copy the serial number and paste in the alpharevx website to get beta key. Now again don't write the beta key. Just select the beta key on website and right click to copy.
Then open the alpharevx program from command prompt. When it asks for beta key, right click inside command prompt and paste. That's all I can say for getting rid of key errors.
GOOD LUCK.

*#06# on the phone's keypad give me imei number, entered that in the serial number of the form on alpharevx site where I selected 1.01.001 hboot win7 for os and wildfire phone, generated serial but the alpharevx.exe doesn't allow for copy and pasting the beta key. Now does the serial number it's asking for mean imei or something else?

The IMEI number is not your serial number. Its a 12 digit number below the battery, or, it is also shown on the AlphaRev X Program itself. Normally begins with HT0.
To copy paste, copy the serial from the Website. Then, Right click the Title Bar of the AlphaRev X Program, Click Properties, then, in the Sub window that appears, Click "Quick Edit Mode".
Then, simply right click anywhere inside the program, and the key will be pasted.

If you read carefully you need to download the correct driver for your USB.

Yes, the no-pain root has been done.
but how to see the "ur phone is really unsupported" ?!
I can change the recovery or delete the app in the system/data, just can't change the first picture as booting!

Move the cursor to the 117 line, that is

The first "pb9920000" to "pb992", that is, to remove the back four “0”, the other constant.
Then press shift and the colon key, enter wq, enter save. Then it will re-display $
At this point type“. / alpharev.sh”,enter to re-run soff, successfully identify the machine, and then back to the prompts to step through the brush!

I think he is saying change the first value from PB9920000 to PB992 but leave the other two values as they are.......
I had this exact problem after I created a goldcard and rooted (unrevoked) but before I wiped and flashed a new rom. I checked that I had the correct drivers, adb running and device visible, USB debugging enabled, no on-screen superuser request holding things up.
Never did get to the bottom of it, all I can say is after a complete backup, wipe and flashing oxygen rom it worked first time and recognised the phone first time!
Hi there, I did exactly what you advised 2x changing pb9920000 to pb992, and yet it still isn't able to recognise my phone. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Hi - I was trying to create a partition on my Sd card using the sdparted method. It gave an error after writing the commands to Shell. After that i rebooted my phone and it won't respond. It won't respond to the power Button, Recovery mood or any thing. If i'll plugin to my computer it would play a sound as if a device has been connected but it wont respond. I have pulled out the battery reinserted it but still its not functional or responsive. Can any one guide me any fix regarding the same.
Error I received was : /dev/mmcblk0p2 does not exis

Hi Thanks for your response. Latest one. 3.0.0.26
This might and might not..
I would format the sd card, then connect the phone to the PC and flash an ruu file.

People I am really looking forward to your replies over here Kindly help me out =)
Well I am just waiting to get my hands back on the phone and I am thinking of doing the same. Should i remove the SD card during that or i keep it in? I am flashing the RUU 1.32 one. Whats your suggestion?
I would format the sd card, insert it back into the phone and flash an ruu of your choice.
I had an issue where the screen stopped completely responding (wiping, switching roms and restoring the nandroid backup didn't work. I flashed 1.32 that's what I would recommend.

Hmmm Thank you I am going to do the same.

hi, there...
plug your DHD into your computer and try adb
type
>adb devices
IF your device is listed, then type....
>adb logcat
and paste the message here (upload it on a .txt file) or just paste it here, your choice.
EDIT: does the HTC splash screen appear? (White BG with HTC logo)?, is that where it hangs?

Nope no device is shown
The main concern i have is if the device is dead or has a faulty hardware which it should cuz i just tried to partition the sd card why does it make a connecting sound with the pc when attached without an SD card. It shouldnt. It needs to be worked out.
People I've read some awesome work of you guys here. I am sure you can easily break this issue down i need your attention.
have you tried adb logcat without typing adb devices? (it worked with me once, it didnt show up under devices but logcat worked)
Also, go to 'Device Manager' in windows. Do you get an unrecognized device? or a 'Android USB Device' or something of the sort?
EDIT: leave the sd-card out for now...or format it (not quick format) and put it back in
It is displaying an unrecognized device as QHUSB_DLOAD

When you run the program it will tell you the serial number. Then you copy.paste that to the website.
This is a general section post. *shakes fist at you*

It is also under your phone's battery. It is the serial number to your phone. There is some type of checksum in there or something, so make sure you type it right.
While we're at it...
its also under settings/about phone/phone identity
I'm having a bit of trouble - Revolutionary is telling me that my beta key is invalid. I've entered it 15 different ways to Sunday, and can't get any different beta key. I was wondering if anyone had heard of any errors with Revolutionary, or if anyone could point me in the right direction to someone I can email?
If revolutionary reads your phone it will say your serial number it will start with HT copy and paste it on the revolutionary website when it gives you the beta key copy and paste it in the revolutionary program if you do it this way there will be no way for it to be invalid

There's not a way to copy 'n' paste from that specific script window that I'm aware of, but I'm pretty confident that I am typing in all the information correctly.
Try deleting all parts of revolutionary from your computer and start over. Can't use program again with different key

Still no dice - I'm going to get some sleep and try this in the morning.
I believe is case sensitive I did have the same problem
Follow this link--->
When you get to the part where it says connect phone and it says to run something as admin it'll say enter beta key right before that it'll say your serial number enter that to get your beta key it WILL START WITH HT!!
Hit the thanks if it helps you out if anything PM me
I performed a search and but nothing specific to my problem!
I am looking for a program which works to unlock my HTC Desire. I did download a program which contained a few files, i've attached the picture.
The program wouldn't run because adb wasn't running. I held down shift and did a right-click and selected Open command window here, typed in adb shell which worked then ran the program by double clicking and the same message came up. Can't win!
I even went to my Three network website to request the unlocking code but it didn't recognise the imei code lol.
Cheers
