Good deal. There are plenty to choose from. If you read thru that thread you will see there are plenty of happy people with it, as am I. This is a sense based rom. Try that out for a while, then you can try an AOSP rom and see which is for you.
But this one is fast? Talking about the internet and stuff

I'm on nightly 40, no complaints. I'd avoid 41 because its giving a lot of people high battery drain, myself included, which is why I went back to 40. 39 was also great.

To tell u the truth there is no best rom kernel set up every phone reacts different there r no 2 evos alike. The only thing i can say depending on what your looking for in a rom ics sense or whatever try them out and see what fits u better. U can try tommytomatoes classic,digitalkarmas 7.77, jamieg71 reloaded .44. Those r my top 3.

Seriously though if you want to dev just jump in, I dint know what I'm doing but I've got a little ROM going. Most the devs here stated it not knowing what they were doing, but they learned. There are a ton of guides for most mods you could want.
