Hi everyone, I was wondering if it's possible to remove simlock once you have S-OFF...flashing a custom radio for example?
it is not possible...
Is there any way to do that without costumer help and web sites (network unlocking codes)?

correct me if i'm wrong but wouldnt creating a goldcard (follow a simple google tutorial) and running a ruu then a s-off on the phone make it completely network independent?
No. It will just remove the network operators ROM and replace it with a Generic unbranded ROM.
Atleast, this is if you are S-OFF with AlphaRevX. S-OFF'ing with an XTC Clip will give you a Super CID, hence, that will unlock the Wildfire.

I had a previous thread before but it seems to be deleted... sorry?
ive followed threads http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003

Ah i ok i just thought because i have S-OFF, i would be able to install the stock rom it anyway, so ive done that and installed the stock PD98IMG 1.32.405.6
Is there anything else i need to do to prevent the phone from locking again? also ive read about this clockworkmod recovery and rom manager.... is that needed to keep my unlock or anything? thanks again guys.
You do not need to do anything anymore, your phone will remain unlocked until you lock it again using Radio S-OFF tool.

Also i have set my "CID" to stock HTC__001, but im not sure what this is meant to do as it seems to have made no difference?
... and your saying that for my phone to become locked again, i would have to change it to s-off, then click "sim unlock" again?
The radio S-OFF tool does not change your software CID, it changes the bootloader CID. So there it makes huge difference. You can try it, you no longer need a goldcard
For your phone to become locked, yes, you have to select S-ON and put your branded CID to your phone (if your phone is branded, that is). The SimUnlock cannot be undone, and it does not matter, because anybody can unlock their phones when they just pay for the code. The difference is that radio tool is free.
thanks for the reply mate..
i just have one question "For your phone to become locked, yes, you have to select S-ON and put your branded CID to your phone"... i have put S-On back, as i was worried i would make changes by accident to the nand so i put it back to s-On just incase, and my phone isnt locked its still unlocked?
... also im not following you with the CID idea, the phone was/is branded to Orange UK, so i set the CID to stock HTC__001, but this has made no differerence and still seems to be branded...?
and when you say it changes the boot loader CID, do you mean the white recovery screen etc? and when you said it makes a huge difference, what do you mean by that?
You say that your phone is still unlocked after S-ON, what do you mean by that? You cannot install a custom rom, so it is not unlocked. Root is possible with S-ON, but try modifying something in /system/..
And what do you mean about phone still being branded after HTC__001? The CID is just a permission to install different ROMs from different sources, for example HTC__001 allows you to flash any WWE ROM. You probably had ORANG001, with that it was not possible to flash HTC WWE ROM.
by unlocked i mean, can accept any simcard from any network, for example i am using an o2 simcard in it. it is S-ON, im just wanting to make sure i dont lose my unlock.
also what does WWE mean. sorry for the noobness guys.
Hi,
Im kinda new in wildfire stuff and i didnt find a simple answer for my question using search so.
When i use xtc clip to s-off my wildfire, does this allow me directly to install any ROM i want, or should i use any other tricks/tools to do so?
Thanks
I've done a little research on this. And theoretically you should be able to flash the old 0.80 hboot as when s-off is achevied with xtc clip or jtag etc there are no signature checks performed which would then allow you to root the old hboot with unrevoked and flash custom Rom. As for flashing the hboot I'm not aware if the xtc clip can do it directly. But the jtag clip can for sure.

Yes I can confirm this as I have an XTC Clip in my store.
It completely removes all S58 security data to leave the handset fully factory unlocked, super CID & S-Off, all without even rooting or flashing the phone, this clip is awesome and totally rocks my shop.

can anyone tell me how to de-brand a wildfire s and direct me to the correct file i need
thanks
first of all you need to know if your wildfire s is s-off or s-on, if its s-on forget debranding for the moment it can not be done... there are tools very close to being available to help to bypass the s-on such as alpharev x. please note.. the gingerbreak app does not work with s-on but will work with s-off so you wont have any problem rooting with gingerbreak with s-off... after you have rooted there are plenty of discussions on here to help you installing custom roms and ruu,s hope this helps a little..
thanks the comment but its an o2 with a 3 sim in it
does not matter what sim you have fitted, unlocked to other networks dont alter the fact that if you need to debrand from the 02 bloatware you still need to have the phone s-off.. before it can be debranded/rooted.. ulocked to other networks does not mean that its ulocked for you to debrand.... two seprate issues.. maybe reading your post wrong buddy but as i understand i am thinking you have wires crossed from debranding and network unlock and thinking because its network unlock its s-off.
hi people, i have a vodafone branded htc desire hd, however i followed all instructions managed to goldcard, downgrade from 2.5 something to 1.32, i temprooted, rooted and then installed eng off and s-off. finally i installed revolution hd, however my phone is still locked to vodafone! all the root was correct, and in the bootloader says ACE PVT ENG S-OFF and also CID is 11111111.
ive searched everywhere and still cannot find an answer. please help me, many thanks in advance
Rooting your device (even flashing a custom rom) does not unlock it.
Okay, I was under the impression that rooting and s-off and eng-off would unlock the phone, can you please give guidance on how to do this I've searched everywhere, many thanks

To sim unlock your device, you need the unlock code. Either get it from your service provider (Free but they hardly give it out) or get it from some website (paid but usually get it quickly. Just make sure it's a trusted site).
Okay I will look into it, when I used the s-off easy tool, one of the options was sim unlock? Thanks for getting back to me anyway

Did you select that option?
yes i selected the top option which was radio s-off, supercid and simunlock. i thought that would of unlocked the phone but im not too sure now?
run the radio off tool again ...ofcourse it unlocks the phone no need for any codes and no need to pay it all can be done free when you follow the steps as i did mine not long ago
I have a branded o2 Htc One x, can I just flash it with a ruu file from a genric model or do I have to still unlock the bootloader ect?
I don't really want to ruin the warranty.
Flashing a s3 was easy but seems alot more when it comes to this handset and so many threads and not sure which to follow.
Help!!

you need S-off to flash any ruu, if you unlock the bootloader, flash CWM you can flash a custom rom or just delete all the o2 bloatware but it'll still have the o2 CID

You dont need s-off to flash any ruu maybe to debrand the phone but not any

You need S-Off to get super CID to flash an RUU with a CID that does not match the CID your phone came with.
If you want to be able to flash any RUU (as opposed to a few particular RUUs) you need S-Off.
