Maybe by editing the build.prop you can achieve this.
I tried spoofing the Nexus S 4g, but unfortunately no luck on the video.
Edit: Actually it does not look like the Nexus S 4G is supported either..
This worked for me using EF02:

??? I've used hancent since my first Android. The only time it "hogs ram" is if I use the popup notifications. Turn that off and it doesn't use any ram at all for me unless I actually "open" the app.

Runs in the background at 22mbs that a ton compared to about 8 or 10 by stock mms....

I'm telling you, disable popup notifications and/or reminders or any scheduled tasks and it doesn't even stay running. Only saying this so maybe you can enjoy it like the rest of us without it hogging up all your ram.

It be nice to get a ics theme for mms i also like the orginal mms apk since its uses almost nothing for resources and im not a big fan of the other ones for the same reason as the poster so if some one could do a theme id be willing to donate a bit. I use the ics 3d mint cm7 theme

As you found out the stock mms.apk borks on wifi and large messages. Until that is fixed (if it ever is) what's the point? I spend a lot of time on wifi and would have to make sure to never send large messages. GoSMS has the ability to make your own theme.

You don't. You can use a third party text app and block it from view, but I find widgets like APW pull from the stock message app so they are still shown on the widget. You can also either wait and see if the cm team integrates a work around to hide them or use GV. I just use GV.

Working perfectly for me on AOKP 7-15, darkside venom 05 kernel. Even tried setting reminders and they worked, except not for another day. Replied: "sorry alarms and reminders only support times of day, but not dates." Not a big deal. Love everything else about it. Much appreciated!
Oops nevermind. Gotta push the search key or just add the search Widgets.

Just add the normal quick search bar widget and hit the microphone. It might ask you to select which program you would like to use, select Google (not voice search)
So, I hope I'm doing something wrong. The Google search function seems to work. Like facts and stuff. I have the cards. However when I ask it to do something like Set a reminder, it will say "setting reminder" but then nothing ever happens. No alarms reminders etc. Any thoughts? Im on Darkside Evolution v8. TW Rom.

100% funcitional AOSP MMS.apk for TouchWiz

Hated the touchwiz messaging app so kept trying to use the MMS.apks from aosp and cm10 and everything would work but when I would get a picture message it would FC. finally got it to work flawlessly.
I'm on jellybomb lj7 and everything works flawlessly for me. There is no quick reply, that's a CM10 feature.
Let me know if it works for you.
http://db.tt/yU4ZQnfV push to system/app, fix permissions and reboot.
Awesome! Only thing I don't like is that you can't swype to call or text that was very useful but it does come with emoij so that is good. I am downloading and installing now. Thanks bro.
I'd love to fix this issue with the AOSP Inverted MMS app.
Any interest in getting you to look at that one?
I'm sure it's the same issue as you had. FCs when you try to attach anything to MMS.
BTW the inverted version is gorgeous!
How do I get the emojis?
Go enable them under MMS settings and scroll down. To add them in a text hit the menu button then 'insert emoji'.

You rock! I recently switched back to a TW based ROM after getting tired of dropped and lousy LTE/3g signal in good coverage areas (yeah, Sprint does have some lol) on AOKP and CM. The Email/Exchange APKs transferred over flawlessly, but the MMS crashing when a pic was in the thread was unbearable.... it's working 100% just as the title says !
I am still stuck on the emojis here, I know they are stupid but bugging me lol. I I have 2 phones here and sending them to each other isn't work and same goes with I phone they will only get 1 or 2 of them.
Any clue?

Anyone else having issues with picture messaging not sending?
