I'm using the r3 ROM from modaco. Main reason is that its almost identical to the standard and has apps2SD.

[Q] Anyone who can recommend a stable pure gingerbread rom?

Hello,
Is there anyone that can kindly recoomend and point me in the right direction to a pure gingerbread rom (not CM7)? Preferably based on the G2 update, that is up to date, pure and stable?
Thanks
here you go Virtuous G-Lite
There is an RC of the same rom available over at #virtuousrom irc
Id recommend xboarders rom. He also has a cyanogenmod mix as well

Believe it or not its faster, I tested it last week. RMK said he was going to release it. Don't know why he didn't though.
RC isn't available for download anymore.
The cyanogen/mix rom appears to just be a paint job. Not worth it IMHUMBLEO. Virtuous g-lite is really the only other thing. Sorry
Xboarder's Pure/stock rom is what I'm using now. It's fast and stable in my opinion.

Chalk another vote for G-Lite. Using it right now with zero issues, very fast, very stable

Thanks for the replies, Been using CM7 nightlies, been great, but sometimes feels somewhat unfinished and often get force closes and crashes when using normal apps. Sense is great but in my opinion is a bit of a memory hog.
Just installed xboarder56 pure stock gingerbread rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054574
Seems to be working great and very fast and stable.
Wish there were more roms based on the official T-mo G2 gingerbread rom.

I've been using CM7 since the first nightlies and its been months since I've seen a force close. I realize everyone has a different setup and therefore different issues though.
I've also checked out the xboarder56 ROM. Very good if you want super stock.

I don't like virtuous g-lite...he did something to the phone app...it no longer shows contact's picture id. It sucks. Use the stock, leaked gb rom.

OC/UV Kernel for 2.1 GingerSense

Guys,
I am having a heck of a time finding a Kernel for 2.1 stock rooted Ginger. I am currently running JCase's Gingerbread Kernel but it doesnt give UV options. Any opinions or links.
Zax10
If you're running Gingerbread, you're running 2.3, so look for kernels made for Gingerbread/2.3, not 2.1.

He's talking about sense 2.1, eclair for this phone doesn't exist.

As far as I know, jcase has the only publicly available oc kernel for stock 2.3, but it isn't uv/compatible with incredicontrol. What I mean by that is most of the roms have a custom kernel, but you can't just flash it on another rom. Unless you hark apart the .zip, and even then I can't garuntee it would work.

I'm looking for same even though I don't fully understand UV vs. UC. Does this squeeze out a little more battery life when you do both? SetCPU is good so far.

Yeah guys thinks for the info. Once I got to a computer I found jcases. Thanks again.

Jcase's kernal worked great at 1.6 when I was using RMK's Ginger Sense R1.

Overclock stock G2

Hey guys, quick question. I went back to my stock ROM from Unity, this thing is slow now... Lol. Is there am overclock kernel that won't screw up everything? I had amazing larry before and it knocked out my camera, and video player. I am rooted. Thanks in advance!
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
check out virtuous glite. Its stock with an oc kernel. I'm pretty sure all the kernels in dev don't work perfect with stock rom, wifi gps problems etc... I'm really happy with it, really snappy

most stable rom out there for g2

i've recently sold my g2 to my brother and i want to flash the most stable rom, i dont need ics or crazy overclock, i just want a rom that doesnt reboot or turns off by itself.
So many to pick from.... I tend to go back to elite mod the most. Everyone will give you a different answer so your best picking a few to try out. As you'll see the next few posts here will be other roms

CM7 roms are very good without overclock.
I only miss the camera quality of sense , but for another features CM7 rom's are ok.
Cyanogen Stable 7.1 OR you can use one of the stock OTA roms. Those are quite good.
I was using miui and g-lite and those turn off like once a week.
I guess ill try the ones u guys recommend

v sense and g lite are good stock roms. Elite and ilwt are best cm based.
Sent from Planet Vegeta.
I'm currently using glite 2.0.1 and its my favorite rom so far. I also tried gslim1.6 good aswell, and if you want just stock get the 2.3.4 stock rooted rom. I have not had any issues with the phone restarting on glite 2.0.1.Here is a link for the G2 rom index thread, it lists all avaliable G2 roms.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1493365
