[Q] Network busy after flashing Desire to CM7 - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yesterday I rooted my HTC Desire, installed ClockworkMod and flashed CM7.03 ROM on it. I though everything was working fine, until today, when I started noticing calls weren't getting through.
So I tried calling back, after I got a text message saying that someone had called but didn't leave a message. I couldn't get through. My Desire says 'Network busy,' but after trying a couple of times, the call eventually does come through. Data doesn't seem to have a problem, I can load webpages and apps seem to have a proper connection.
I've tried my SIM on another phone (an old Sony Ericsson G900), which doesn't seem to have these problems.
Obviously, I've rebooted a couple of times, put it in flight mode, tried to reregister to the network, but that didn't help.
Is there any solution that doesn't involve updating my radio or flashing CM7 again? Have I missed something completely obvious?
Some information that might help you help me:
It's a Bravo PVT4 (20.000, not 40.000, so flashing should've worked fine)
Hboot 0.93.0001
Radio: 5.11.05.27 (just updated to 5.17.05.23)

Did you tried updating Radio?
Here are the latest one's:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=687464

I hoped I wouldn't have to do that as I've read that this would be more risky than flashing and rooting. However, if there's no easier solution, I'll obviously try that. Thanks.
I als found a temporary solution. If I force it to exclusively connect to 2G instead of 3G, I no longer have problems with 'network busy.'
Edit: I've updated the Radio to 5.17.05.23, but it didn't solve the problem. Still getting 'network busy' on 3G.

Try reflashing the rom, might work

PLEASE help me fix my half bricked EVO!

Background:
I rooted my phone back in August using the method described in this video (http://androidandme.com/2010/07/phones/intro-to-rooting-your-sprint-htc-evo-4g-video/) I've flashed numerous ROMs to my phone without much issue. However I recently flashed the latest Fresh ROM and have no data connection. I know its not the ROM itself because I nandroid restored back to 3 different ROMs and still cannot connect.
I upgraded and downgraded my PRI and Radio to various versions but still no luck. So next I called Sprint and asked them to reactivate my phone thinking that it would reset the connection and fix my issue. They asked me to type in ##(somenumbers)## which rebooted my phone and brought me to the hands-free activation screen. Not only did this not work, but I fully lost all connectivity. Previously I had a 3G logo that wasn't lit up, but my phone was able to download "some" data at very slow speeds. Now no 3G logo and no connection.. (idk why I called sprint?!?)
I figure loosing root and installing the latest OTA should fix my problem. So I initially tried the method described in the forums (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=743192), and got stuck at a black screen with an HTC logo. My HBOOT number changed to 0.93.0000 but im still rooted.
Next I downloaded the latest ota through my phone via wifi, but the install process fails about half way through. So now I'm thinking that if I downloaded the latest unrooted ota to my PC and flashed to the ROM I could lose root that way.
Solution?:
What are your thoughts? Do you think going back to stock unrooted android will fix my issue?
I truly appreciate ANY help you can give me. I'm completely "lost" without a working phone!
THANKS!!!

Do this first, update your PRL and Profile, always do this when you update the radio.
Then if that does not work, proceed with the steps below.
Do the nandroid restore, I would hope you are using ARMON RA b/c it backs up your WIMAX(wimax.img). Get you phone working again then focus on the the
radio(s).

[Q][SOLVED] Is my wifi broken? "Error" when turning on

I was Insertcoin 1.0.8 S-off RA recovery
I occasionally got "Error" when turning wifi on from a widget now it will not turn on at all. I've tried multiple ROMs and Radios to no avail all I can think of that coincided with it failing was installing and using "Wireless tether for root users" from the market.
Z-device test has a big green tick against the wifi box but the anylitics screen doesn't display a signal.
I have now gone to the latest RUU (WWE-HTC, Hboot 0.93, s-on, new radio) the problem is unchanged.
UPDATE:
My phone is friggin nuts - after two weeks of this it has miraculously started to work!!!
'Wireless Tether' app log used to report an error with "bcm4329_apsta.ko module (fw_bcm4329_apsta.bin from /etc/firmware)...
Other people are having this error too any clever bods got ideas how to solve it? Any suggestions?
Thanks
Matt
Does the app have access to modify your wifi settings?
Is there a setting turning your wifi off, ie is your phone trying to tether permanently?
Or, try uninstalling the app or reverting to last nandroid?

Is there a setting turning your wifi off, ie is your phone trying to tether permanently? The App has been uninstalled and a fresh ROM and radio flashed
Or, try uninstalling the app or reverting to last nandroid? The handset has been restored to 'as new 'condition using PP99IMG.zip of HTC WWe latest with Hboot 0.93
Still wifi selection returns "Error"

I have erro this too, but My phone is Nexus one.
when i have up ROM cyanogen 7. uses serveral times wifi. then i can't turn on WIfi. that is WI-FI "error" message. anyone experience share me?
thanks very much!
I have the same problem with a UK Orange Desire. I tried flashing different roms/radios but I had no luck. I have unrooted it and returned it to htc for repair. I think it's a hardware issue. Some aic chip I read somewhere but I'm really not sure.
Sent from my Motorola Startac running Atari 2600 software!
I have the exact same error with the HTC Glacier (mytouch4g). I also ran cyanogenmod. It all started with a battery change, then there was a bootloop after that the wifi died. Everything works now except the wifi, besides that I'm not sure whether it is normal since I havent checked it on other phones but I cannot call someone and use mobile internet at the same time (very annoying while trying to load google maps during a phonecall).
Anyways it suddenly worked for a few days then it stopped working again. Anyone else got a suggestion?

[Q] Wifi problems

Wildfire with
ROM: CM 7.2
Kernel: 2.6.35.14-InfinityPlay
Radio: 3.35.20.16
For the last year wifi, after a short period of time i can't download, I mean, some times i connect, get into market for example and download/update, but after some time i can't, it's not a market problem because i can't download from anywhere, regardless the app, but i can browse normally(!), the problem is only in downloading. Even if i reset wifi, go in and out of airplane mode, restart the phone etc, the problem stays. Maybe if i try the next day it works ok. I dont know how it occurs or when and why, nor how/why/when it gets fixed...
The problem started when I had rompuzzle 2.2.1 a year before, till now. Since then I have flashed stock rom with 2.2.1, jockerdroid 4.2, cm 7.1, and cm 7.2 that i have now.
I suspect it is a radio problem, but can't be sure.
*Also sometimes I have low gsm signal, even in well covered areas.
Any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks
You said you flashed stock rom, i suppose it was a stock rom from Android?
It really looks like you have a problem with your radio (like you allready say for yourself).
It seems you have the newest one, so try a lower version.
I you have troubles finding a radio because the host is down or something just pm me or try google.
Hope this helped! Kind regards.
try radio 20.10
i have tried all 3 radios, but the problem stays. But i have noticed that when i enable tether and i put in the console the command for reverse tethering *usually* it gets fixed until the next time that i disconnect from my wi-fi.
i have not the same but similar problem, after a while i get dropped from router, even if my phone says its connected...this started to happen after changing our router (which i couldnt and cant set up) and setting up "N" wifi network...i found two options, how to solve it..
1)use free app wifi fixer from google play store (which somehow manages to know if you are connected or not and can automatically reassociate with router again)
or
2)flash HCDR.Kernel_v4_Flashable.zip from op on this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=798471
maybe it help, maybe not.. gl
I have *temporary* solved the problem by following the reverse tethering guide... I don't know why but after doing this procedure I can connect normally to my router, and if it disconnects (rarely) I just repeat the steps of the guide.

[Q] No service after flashing radio

Hey all, finally having some trouble with my Dinc2 that lurking couldnt solve (or I'm still not lurking hard enough). So I am currently running Aerovan's CM10, and decided to start flashing some radios. I installed the latest radio .0320 (and also the AGPS patch, but dont know if thats relevant). Was working great for a while(4-5 days), but yesterday I ran the phone's battery all the way down. When I tried restarting it, it got stuck in a boot loop. I dropped down to .0312 radio to see if it would make any difference, but still no dice, so I did a nandroid restore. This let me back into my phone but now I have no service. I checked the APN settings and had to fix them for VZW, but even after that I still have no service. I downgraded the radio to .1111, wiped cache, and set my APN settings manually, but still no service. I'm at a loss. any help would be awesome.
I had this problem, but eventually I found a radio that worked. You may need to install the stock 2.3.3 RUU, reroot, and go back to your ROM of choice. I had to do that a few times when I started messing around with radios.
You need the radios that I need. I posted a thread asking anyone if them have them. If someone comes up with them I'll let you have them. You need either 1.09.01.0722 or 1.09.01.0622. I'm not sure they will work better but I want to try them anyway. I've tried the ones you have and I get between -105 to -120 dBm with the occasional -104 and -125. It Terrible!
Something simple to check - the antenna is built into the battery cover. No cover connection, no signal.
-CM7 on DInc2

[Q] WiFi stopped working.. Tried everything

I've done a lot of searching around here and couldn't find anything that could get my WiFi working again. A while back I was following a tutorial that would let me edit my network bands, but I could never get it to work.. Shortly after I noticed my WiFi stopped working. I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or not. Anyways, I've tried everything. I've used stock RUU's to flash it back to stock (erasing everything), installed different ROMs, Kernels, etc. I've noticed the WiFi will work shortly after a fresh install but after a bit it just stops. Turning it on will give a WiFi error followed by "settings has stopped working". I've even opened up my phone and made sure the antennas were connected correctly but that didn't do anything. My Bluetooth works just fine though!
I'm s-off and rooted
Helped one of my friend - installed latest firmware update, but he has phone without root and locked bootloader + s
-on
Where can I find the firmware update?
Did you try using a different SSID ?
Or did you verify the RUU flashes clean ?
Maybe your WiFi Chip is broken
