[Q] Bricked Play!

Hi all
My Play came up with an "available software update" on the screen, which I carried out.
Unfortunately, it turned off and will now not turn on.
When pressing the power button it vibrates, and that's it... Any ideas?

How many times has it been said DON'T OTA UPDATE WITH AN UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER. YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE
I think there is a fix for it somewhere but i can't find it. PM Blagus, If there is a way to unbrick your phone he will know
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126358
Follow this link for the fix. Then never touch OTA again!

Not needed unless user flashed "preset.ta" fix which did brick radio.

look at stickied threads.. they are there for a reason, no one should have to go out of their own way to walk you through this when all the steps necessary are already available and you don't want to put the effort into finding them.

your OP post mentioned NOTHING about returning a phone back to stock. all you asked was for your phone to be bootloader locked again,
I unlock my phone to installed 4.0.4 thinking this will solve the issue with the phone thinking that is charging when it's not, the problem is back and I would like to lock the phone again so I can send it for repair, I'm using mac an I can't find instructions anywhere, please help

EDIT: after doing a 5 second google search,
http://bit.ly/HzqalU that was the first result. use that thread as a reference and change the names to its new respective names
http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html has links for 4.0.4
that wasn't too difficult now.

[Q] Debrand e975

Hi. To start, let me state that I am a noob to android.
Now, I purchased an e975 where it should be unbranded. But it was with Starhub Singapore. Bought from US and I am in Europe.
So, I am trying to find a way to debrand the phone. Flashing a valid LG rom would be ok too, but I cannot find any post stating if there is a way to do this and how.
Bottom line, I will return the phone but that would mean some delay I am trying to avoid.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks, but this is not the case. The device is not locked. It's branded. It's full of useless carrier specific apps and logos that can't be removed.
- root, unlock and install a custom rom
- use an kdz image from here for your phone model:

Thanks, I'm very glad to know that this CAN be done... I have a ROM downloaded since before I posted here... All I need now is to find out how to do it .
Does this link apply?

this is not for optimus g.
please read the threads for the correct phone model
Well, I've seen a bunh of posts and threads describing stuff, but I'm getting more and more lost trying to follow links and trying to depict points from any next post...
The best match I've managed to find is an article about unbricking a phone... This appears like a reasonable procedure for changing rom to a device...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010624
Sorry for being so persistent, but I am not confident enough to start a procedure if I can't know that it is the correct procedure to be followed.. Shouldn't there be something like a wiki article with a step-by-step procedure from a to z on how to flash a kdz, from rooting to wiping to flashing to booting?

I have used the method in the link you posted at least 10 times. Never failed. Make sure you have the proper kdz.

I'll make sure, thanks... I've downloaded a file named E97510B_00.kdz, roughly 1GB. I've picked the one for Greece, from a list on
lg-phone-firmware dot com (sorry, can't post links yet )
Having an e975, I suppose this list is good for me... I'll stick to low letters (A,B) for starters and I'll see what I shall do next.
Unless something goes terribly wrong, I won't be posting back on this thread. Thank you all guys for the assistence...:laugh:

That thread is there to help, so if reading guides like that is an issue you're going to have problems. Are you even able to unlock your BL, if not you can forget CM anyway. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2631291

I followed the instructions on there website and it seems to work.
But I have massive battery drain
You can install Wakelock Detector from google play to see what is causing the drain
