JM9 P1000L version have a protected bootloader.
You can download app and get more informations about bootloaders here.
Some ROMs dont have a dbdata.rfs file.
dbdata.rfs is necessary for flash NEW roms.
dbdata.rfs link for Gingerbread
Before flash, open .tar file (rom) and drag dbdata.rfs into package.
After flash if your 3G dont work, you should install modem of the previous rom.
You can do this replacing modem.bin (JM9) file into .tar package before flash.Recovery - Black ScreenMany P1000L/N users are trying to install the new android version (Gingerbread).
If your device shows a black screen you will need press on power button some time for power off it.
Now, for download mode you will press this buttons: Home + (Vol -) + Power
You can test download mode with Odin. When it shows COM Port (yellow) enabled.
You need learn about Heimdall.
What is Heimdall?
Heimdall is a cross-platform open-source tool suite used to flash firmware (aka ROMs) onto Samsung Galaxy S devices. More information.
Now, you should download P1000L stock ROM (Password is "samfirmware.com"):
P1000L
Uncompress .rar
Uncompress .tar
You will see:
boot.bin
cache.rfs
factoryfs.rfs
gt-p1000_mr.pit
hidden.rfs
modem.bin
param.lfs
Sbl.bin
zImage
Now, using Heimdall command line, you will flash boot files.
Be careful!
Its very IMPORTANT...
Its works ONLY on P1000N or P1000L devices.
Command for recover:
Code:
heimdall flash --primary-boot boot.bin --secondary-boot Sbl.bin
REMEMBER - The boot files is signed.
Read this topic for solve this.

AFAIK, CF-root does have CwM inside already.
This should be ok to use with Overcome too, since Overcome only asks for a GB kernel.
Thanks you very much Humberto, spared me of the work of understanding kernels

Humberto, coule you please make a tar/odin version of the kernel? For some reason my heimdall don't connect to my device, no matter what I do.
I can only get a -12 error (cannot connect)
I have installed the drivers and everything else.

Hi Humberto,
I'm planning to flash Gingerbread using Heimdall.
I have three questions:
1º) I'll decompress the ROM file and substitute dbdata.rfs and modem.bin with the files you said in the other thread and flash everything with Heimdall (repartition enabled). Is it right?
2º) The bootloaders at the Gingerbread P1000N ROM is fully compatible with P1000L device right?
3º) Is it possible to post here the md5sum of each file that I will need to flash using heimdall? I'll be much more calm if I can compare the md5sum of the files you have flashed and we know that work with the ones I'm suppose to flash.
Thanks,
Ronan

I'm sorry, the old kernel tar files I had had a lot os scripts inside too, so I thought this one wouldn't be accepted by Odin, it worked fine and now I have root
Thank you very much.
Our bootloaders are signed and apparently locked with this rom, do you think it is safe to use the apk to unlock them and than use Overcome?
Greetings, Santroph.

Hello HumberOS
Hi Humberos, I have a galaxy P1000N tab to which you installed your rom and I am as P1000L, then install the Kernel ltn_20110612.tar all very well without complaints with the bootloader unlocked with root enabled ..!
My question is: If I install this new kernel ltn_cfroot_r1 Gingerbread can install without problems ..?
Could you tell me the procedure I followed and the files I need to get this q Gingerbread once flashed with your new kernel ..?
As I said originally my Tab is a P1000N your Rom and you have used Odin 20110612 kernel 1.7 for all procedures
Sorry for the length of my questions but understand I need to do to not ruin my tab and I am very new to this and I would greatly appreciate a clear and comprehensive response to achieve what I ask you as well as a detailed been generous with other users ..
Thank you very much Greetings from Ecuador

That means, return to stock Froyo ROM (2.2), wiping everything, before flashing stock Gingerbread ROM (2.3).

Hi Desi guys & gals.
Here I present to you Latest XXJPY with MODEM & CSC from DDJP6. This way we wiil enjoy the Latest PDA with localized settings.
Although this works, there are certain things to be ironed out. I am working on them. Please wait till I update this post. This works perfectly, while DDJP6 gives you all settings automatically, with XXJPY you need to configure a few things by yourself.
If any of you want to try this ROM & help me with problems, I will be grateful.
Give me some time to update all the necessary information here.
1. Flash Stock DDJP4 if you are on any modded ROMs. Dont bother if you are on stock 2.1.
2. Using Odin Flash this ROM over it. Use 512 pit with re-partition.
Thas all. You now have a pre-rooted phone with custom CWM & lagfix options.
Caution, this will wipe all your data. Please wipe/factory reset before flashing & do a dalvik wipe after flashing, before starting for first time. Titanium Backup works flawlessly for me for Backup & Restore.

1. I have found it a safe practice to first flash ONLY the pit file with re-partition. Pull the battery before it restarts, put it into download mode, select PDA, MODEM & CSC, NO pit this time & NO re-partition plug-in the phone in download mode at the last moment & press start.
2. Link to Stock DDJG4
- Download password = samsung-firmwares.com
3. Although its not really documented & thus open to discussion, I have found that Odin3 1.7 is better at NOT semi-bricking your phones. It has helped a few to come out of semi-brick after using Odin3 1.3.
4. This has been tested by me & friends to be working on Intentional Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000.
5. All questions & clarifications about SpeedMOD should be referred Here
6. Those of you who want to try out STOCK XXJPY, Flash XXJPY kernel over the modded one.

Hi,
Can you kindly provide the PDA without the SpeedMod. The Offiical one. With out any change or mod.

Hi Ragin, I have a suggestion and request at the same time for you:
Probably the easiest way for your Indian fellows to use and try out any kind of ROM is to do a backup of their APNs while they are still on stock Rom with the following program available for free in the market:
http://www.appbrain.com/app/apn-backup-restore/com.riteshsahu.APNBackupRestore
After having flashed the ROM of their choice they can simply restore the APN settings through the same program and they are immediately online again.
Now my request: as I will travel to India very soon I would like you to backup your APN settings for me with this program and either post the xml file here in reply or PM it to me.
Thanks a lot and cheers from Bali

Yes, I am aware of that. I myself did that till today. This ROM is meant for those who want to stick to STOCK roms without any modifications, as the present 2.2.1 ROMs are quite fast & lagfree. And still have the benefit of having their regional MODEM & CSC because of vast number of mobile providers in India.
Those who are using XXJPY stock rom in India can actually try using this ROM & give a feed back about battery use.

I think you got it all wrong, because of that mount e error, you first need to flash a STOCK 2.1 ROM if you are on a 2.2 ROM. Then go into download & flash this 2.2.1 over it. If you are already on stock 2.1, you can flash this ROM directly over it.
Qs
Just out of curiosity, how is this useful? What localization benefits do we get?

It flashed & showed Pass in green & pulled battery. Fired up Odin again, flashed stock DDJP4. Fired up Odin again, No Pit, Select XXJPY PDA, MODEM & CSC, put my phone in download mode again, connected, & pressed Start when it showed up in Odin. It boots up & I am in XXJPY.

The localization benifits are better wifi, better 2G 3G & better integration with Service Provider's. PDA is universal whereas MODEM & CSC are region specific.

[KERNEL] SP-ROOT - GT-I9000 ROOTED STOCK Kernels - by stock+ Team (ALL NEW VERSIONS!)

Hello everyone,
Stock+ Team ($omator & Grooby) are proud to bring you the latest rooted kernels based on samsung stock kernels that you may find in ROM by Samsung.
Why should i use this kernel?
Our kernels are uber-minimal modification of stock kernel used only for rooting (no custom recovery is installed). So the kernel it's like stock just rooted, and there is small chance (or any chance) that it will be detected as modified by service center at the first look
Please find latest of kernels listed below:
*NEW* ROOTED! I9000XXJW4 - Gingerbread (2.3.6) - CL: 1043937 - B.Date: 19-03-2012 - Download HERE!
Instructions:

2. Profit!
What's included in this kernel
- Base image of kernel is 100% pure stock by samsung
- ClockworkMod Recovery added !
- Fully rooted (after flash you will have superuser and su installed)
Nothing more, nothing less - Enjoy!
If you like our modifications, support us with even a little donation for a beer -> Click to donate!
Don't forget to follow our service at Twitter (@SamsungUpdates) or (soon) Samsung-Updates.com
Best regards for CF for showing us the way and all XDA-DEVELOPERS members! we love ya!
This will be interesting. *[Subscribing]*
Thanks, I also prefer to use an stock kernel with the only addition of root features.
Lot of 2.3.5 custom kernels are based on 2.3.4 sources and also have tweaks that might do more bad than good.
Imho if those tweaks were so good samsung would have added them to their roms, it wouldn't be the first time they do that.

is it possible somehow to add CWM to these kernels?
These are suppoused to look/feel/work as oryginal kernels just with rooted by default. We are currently working on extending default recovery menu with some features invisible for a service eye but useful for flashing custom roms

[S+ Kernel] - Rooted stock kernel for I9000XWJW1 (2.3.6) - no mods, only root + SU

Here's the latest rooted kernel for I9000XWJW1 (2.3.6) which just leaked !

I open ODIN
1 - I flash XWJW1
2 - I flash your zimage.tar
I turn off ODIN
3 - I run RUNME.BAT
end ?
I have JW1 rooted ?
Yup. just download Superuser.apk from Android market and you're done
Hi,
I'm currently using 2.6.35.12-gdf10700 [email protected]#1.
Is this stock (I9000XWJW1) kernel more up to date / better?
Many thanks
Hi, No Expert, as far as i know the kernel you have currently installed is from cm9 ICS or CM7 i think, this kernel is for JW1 samsung this will not work on your rom .

[FAQ - All You Need] GT-S7560M Galaxy Ace II x / Ace2x

Welcome to the Samsung Galaxy Ace II x / GT-S7560M Unofficial FAQ!
-The Galaxy TREND GT-S7560 is also supported-
==>THIS IS AN OUTDATED PHONE AND THE LINKS/FILES BELOW MAY OR MAY NOT BE THERE ANYMORE<==
!!SEE POST #2 BELOW FOR LINKS
Frequently Asked Questions:
1- "Flash with CUSTOM RECOVERY (TWRP/CWM)" : If you still have the stock recovery, download and use Daver18qc's Root Kit Below to install a custom recovery from the CUSTOM RECOVERIES header in post #2.
2- "Flash with ODIN" : ODIN is inside Daver18qc's Root Kit *With Detailed Instructions* below.
3- "Push with ADB" : You need to download and install Android's Development Kit and then refer to the small tutorial below !
4- If you've got problems with ODIN or ADB, make sure that you have USB Debugging Enabled under Settings > Developer Options.
--Make sure you have only 1 device showing in ODIN (Only 1 little square filled at the top-left)
--Also make sure Kies.exe is not running on the computer!
5- There are custom ROMs, such as CyanogenMOD 10 and 11, OmniROM 4.4, and more. There is no Lollipop ROM just yet, though it is slowly being worked on. A lot of work is needed to update our device code for Lollipop. You can find links to different custom ROMs for our device in post #2.
6- There is NO free method to UNLOCK SIM yet.
7- If you want to flash any deodexed rom with a custom recovery, you must first flash the complete corresponding ROM from SamMobile. That means deodexed Guatemala need to be flashed over Guatemala, not over Panama or Canada. Same goes for deodexed Australia.
8- If you get a Yellow warning triangle on boot after flashing something, use TriangleAway to remove it and reset the flash counter to 0. (On the page, use the provided TriangleAway apk file available for download at the bottom of the first post)
9- Flashing a ROM from Guatemala or Australia will not change your service provider, you will stay with Bell/Koodo/Rogers even if these companies don't exist in Guatemala.
10- Sometimes when flashing ROMS, your carrier will show as "Bell" even though you are on Virgin / Solo, this is normal as these are 2 sub-companies of Bell.
11- When you flash ANYTHING with a custom recovery, be sure to Wipe Cache and Wipe Dalvik Cache (advanced menu) before rebooting.
12- For ANY kind of flashing from a Windows computer, you will need the Samsung USB Drivers first and foremost, before doing anything else. If you're on Linux/Ubuntu, install Heimdall and search for tutorials for how to use it on XDA or Google.
13- If you have the Galaxy Trend GT-S7560 and CWM freezes while flashing a custom rom, then re-cook the rom inside the Kitchen with these tweaks:
Code:
For galaxy trend s7560
When building rom in kitchen, select Interactive Mode(1). after zipaling;
1. edit META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script in working folder and change " format("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p16"); " to " format("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p16", "0", "/system"); "
2. extract cm11 for ace 2x and replace META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary from cm11 to your rom

How to flash with ODIN :
-If your ROM is zipped, unzip it to a folder until you got a ".TAR.MD5" file
-Load up ODIN
-Shutdown your Phone

------CUSTOM ROMS-------
Note: None of the custom ROMs are bug-free. Some of them are more stable and bug-free than others though. Some common bugs among all the ROMs are lack of full camera resolution (the rear camera only captures images at 3MP instead of the 5MP in Stock ROM) and lack of bluetooth (our chipset doesn't support the newer bluetooth method used in Android 4.2+).

Modified stock firmware "Stock II X Plus" by Codename13. It is deodexed, rooted, has init.d functionality, has ADB support, doesn't overwrite your custom recovery with the stock one, and other misc. changes, plus it shouldn't trigger the triangle flash counter.
If you install a stock ROM/firmware over a custom ROM and you get a bootloop, meaning you probably forgot to wipe data, and you're unable to boot to recovery, flash this package (by Codename13) with Odin to wipe your data partition, which should allow you to boot into the stock ROM.

Unfortunately, the links on that site seem broken too... unless its me and i cant get them to work...
looking with the code "S7560MUBAMG2" i found a version PBS, CPA and TCP (panama, panama and mexico), all three have the same build date and change list numbers (05.07.2013 and 1230914)...
im downloading PBS version, its a 532mb file, is that right?... no wonder the device sucks that much... that image is bigger than the stock for my the TF300t... this **** is bloated
is this the same image as guatemala?
Can't seem to find the PGU anywhere... all links are to hotfile (which seems dead) or broken
thanks anyway...
i wanted to test the slimbean rom but guess i'll have to wait a while then...

I seem to have installed it — the Root Kit install finished successfully and there's one entry in Apps for "Superuser" that wasn't there before — but I can't actually do anything with it. How do you "Flash with CWM"?

AIUI, you don't need to use MG2. Try the third link (XSA) which will give you three options to download the MH3 firmware for Australia. That has three working download links.

You did it, since flashing with CWM puts the SUPERUSER program inside the phone. So if you have that, then you have indeed flashed with CWM, because it is the only way to flash the root package!
The instructions in the root kit apply to any other update/package that you want to flash with CWM.

@mertonv:
Use Australia MH3 instead. SAMMOBILE got their hosting server shut down so the links for stock firmware are invalid, but they are supposed to get fixed soon, i hope.
EDIT: The Australia Stock ROM link works at the moment, maybe you didn't LOG IN / REGISTER on SAMMOBILE before trying to download and that's why you don't see anything, but at this time, it works !
Bluetooth and Camera still broken/buggy?
Can anyone confirm that there isn't a custom ROM (10.2 or 11) where there are issues with Bluetooth and the camera? I know the FAQ says there are issues but that was in October.
Service
Since flashing CM 10.2, I haven't been able to get service and if somehow I manage I only get it temporarily. Can someone explain as to why?
Downloading Australia MH3
When I go to download file, it takes me to http://terafile.co/5d8b16638748 and the problem is the download link isn't working for me. I do the captcha and everything but when it does to download it just doesn't want to download.

It's been tested and it's safe, aside from the extremely slim risk of bricking your device while using Triangle Away (but I've never heard of anybody doing this). Chainfire hosts a free version here on XDA, although being free, it doesn't include every feature. But it works well enough.

If you are indeed using an Ace 2, we can't help you. This thread is one of the few for the Galacy Ace II X, a completely different device, other than similiar sounding names.
Speaking of BLN, I remember having recently seen an app that mimicks it very well. I'll message you if I remember what it was called.
For the BA2X 2.0, I'm working on implementing BLN in the kernel along with some other things. Our devices don't have the same kernel, but I could possibly create a universal BLN diff for others. I'm trying to diff a BLN module source for the Galaxy R and Captivate, so hopefully I can get it working.

So is the Kitkat update still being worked on or not? You say its being worked on in the first post but later say he's stopped. Also, are the bugs listed in black from flashing to Jelly Bean?
And lastly, can I use the Ace 2 GT-I8160 method of getting Kitkat for my ace 2x?

You're using an Ace 2 GT-I8160? This thread is for Galaxy Ace II X GT-S7560M. The two devices are completely different. The only reason that us Ace II X users use the Ace 2 forums is because the names are somewhat similiar. However, don't let that similiarity ruse you.

Any chance that kitkat makes its way to this phone?...
If it were too... which stock should i load to my phone to be compatible with that?

[REF][KitKat] Kernel Stock Collection i9505

Hi guys! My great mate and friend @edzamber has made a collection of all KitKat Stock Kernel and has made them available for all us! So, all credits go to him!
The Kernel is a computer program that manages input/output requests from software and translates them into data processing instructions for the central processing unit known also as CPU. The Kernel acts as an intermediary between the software and the hardware.
Neither @edzamber nor I are responsible of any damages caused by your mistakes. Perform the procedure at your own risk!
No mirrors please
Requirements:
- A PC using Windows.
- Samsung driver --> HERE.
- Odin 3.07 or Odin 3.09 or Odin 3.10.
You have always to flash a Kernel matched to your ROM version. For example, if your ROM is GNG8, you have to flash the Kernel_Stock_GNG8.tar.md5 file. Otherwise your Wi-Fi will not work. If you flash a Stock Kernel on a Custom ROM, your Wi-Fi will not work because there aren't the stock modules in /system partition. You will need to download the firmware matched to the Kernel version, extract stock modules from system.img.ext4 using the kitchen and then put them in /system partition setting right permissions. Some stock modules are available HERE.
Let's start!
1) Download Stock Kernel from HERE.
2) Run Odin on your PC.
3) Reboot your device into download mode.
4) Put the Kernel in PDA/AP.
5) Put the tick only on "Autoreboot" and "F. Reset Time".
6) Click on "Start" to flash the Kernel.
7) Flash Stock Modules via recovery custom if you have one. Otherwise put manually them in /system partition using a file manager.
8) Reboot and enjoy!
