Hi there,
I installed the LunarUi theme on my friend's Nexus S which runs CM7 and I'm really impressed. This has to be one of the nicest themes I ever saw.

As I'm running the Exynos Rom on my handset and have no experience in themeing I wanted to ask if someone hast the time and is willing to port this awesome theme for our S2?!?
I'm sure many people would love to use this theme!!

That sure would be the easiest way but not everyone wants to flash an entirely different rom. I'm pretty happy with Samsung based Roms.

So I tried some methods of theme porting but with that little talent I have I had no luck getting it to work.
Is there really nobody who cares about this theme? I mean the craze on CM is huge, even on MIUI people are porting the theme. Latest version 3.5 looks sick!
No one willing to try on creating an universal JKAY theme?

I've used CM7 and it's nothing compared to some of the TW roms in here. I even tried Lunar, and it's great.
It would be nice if someone ported it to a TW rom. I know it can be done.

Amazing work! I just want the statusbar, that's my favourite! I can really live without the other CM7 features.
I did flash CM7 nightly 83 for SGS2 but it made my phone heat up too quickly and ate my battery with much gusto. I believe there are some suggested fixes for that but they require a bit too much reading and tinkering for me right now. Oddly the RC for my nookcolor worked perfectly; too bad LunarUI is not supported at that size.
Damn that's so sexy. You really make so many people happy with that theme (although it seems nobody cares about LunarUI, but I think you just have to love it!)
Can anybody please port a working touchwiz 4.0 to this phone? I know I lot of people don't like it, but I do. Thanks.

its been discussed before...but the entire oem skin will not be possible on htc (well reasonably possible)
there is a universal touchwiz launcher out there though for all phones including aosp

honestly its not much different than what htc, moto, and lg have done at different points (com.htc.resources.apk, blur-res.apk, and i forget what lg named theres)
fwiw resources is the most difficult to deal with because it contains so much of the entire sense framework in it
samsung is looking like its moving away from twframework-res as in gingerbread, virtually nothing is used from it except system colors

I hope the Nexus Prime has TW4 or at least Sammy releases one that does similar to the GS2
OK I was able to get a miui rom to work but it need a lot of fixes. this rom is from the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II so it is basically the same. Yes It is flashable
FIX NEED:
-(Fix) All the capacitive buttons work(need to change button setting)

-LED's Light Dont come on

I can fix wifi and other things but i dont have power right now soi cant work untill i do... also what kernel are you using for this? It has to have init.d support for themes to work and also the euro galaxy s2 version has the camera working last time i checked.

I'd be curious to know what kernel as well. You try eri n apns for service? Wifi might be the same fix we've used for 2.3.5+ issues in the past as well since our kernel is technically built for 2.3.4.

Im pretty sure data wont work ever without an aosp kernel... codeworkx has one for us on his gihub but every time i try to compile i get errors... it hasnt been tested tho because they dont have the phone yet from what i know.

hey barnacles,
if you grab the 'official' rom from miui.com or even the int'l sgs2 miui port from xda, all you need to do is swap the zimage with one of the epic 4g touch's (like LoStKernel) and it will boot up and function (maybe what the OP of this thread did, didn't download to see). Data and wifi were no go. If I remember, the cameras were working though unlike what this OP says. I've been working on this here and there but I definitely dont have as much free time as I'd like as I'm getting ready to move to the other side of the earth.
I'll be more than happy to answer questions and/or help development going as soon as I can put some time aside to work on this.

I'm not a fan of the MIUI ROM(its to iPhone-ish IMHO) but I still wanted to say thank you for this post. Although I know it wasn't its purpose, it did point me to the SkyRocket's Development, and Themes & Apps Section, and man do they have some goodies over there, which I never would've found had it not been for this post, so thanks again!
so you essentially made small tweaks and got aosp based rom from sgs2 int to boot? if so, nice. I wonder if this works with CM7 as well.

These Roms are basically all WIP. They are for any dev that wants to take them over. Im switching to the sgsII and trading my ns4g.. which means I can not work on these

Sense 3.5 Port (2.3ish) (Radiance HD from the Evo 4g Forums! ) ( adb shows mBlockInputEventsBlocked is true when screen or buttons are pressed, so it knows they are there...)

This rom seems to be completely functioning, i have recieved messages and it plays notifications, the touchscreen just doesnt work. So after first boot the screen shuts off, and thats it. This would be a good one to fix

MIUI 4.0 ICS NS4G ( I didnt see this on here for the NS4G, so I got it running. didnt try to fix anything, just got it to boot, and most things worked. )

Nice! I liked how you thought outside the box here. It will be nice if you bring some of your ideas/projects from here over there. The stock ROM has been tweaked in almost every possible way. Getting a Sense port or something really different on that big screen would be nice!

You guys really want TouchWiz? It's terrible. I have an Epic and all we try to do is get rid of it. I guess TouchWiz 4 is ok though.

I have the epic touch and am using my nexus until they can get ics on it touch whiz isn't that bad but its bad enough for me not to want to use the best phone on sprint. Plus I got my galaxy nexus so that's holding me over for the mean time

Many (myself included) felt the same way about Sense. I HATED Sense with a passion when I had my Evo, but some people actually wanted it ported over to the nexus.
It's bizarre... those that have a bloated mess of a launcher/fork want vanilla or themed aosp - and nexus owners with vanilla aosp want the bloated Sense mess.

I personally just wanted something other than stock vanilla, miui, tweaked stock vanilla, cm7 vanilla, themed stock vanilla etc.. so I went for random things that maybe not everyone wanted really bad, like the droid razr port or sense 3.5.
I started to hate aosp on my nexus, it was the worst thing and i would have rather flashed froyo sense..

Added my updated one to the op.
Touchwiz on the Epic Touch is nothing like it was on the Epic. It is blazing fast and smooth. If I could change the icons, I would never use a 3rd party launcher but ADW EX has me hooked right now

Edit: Fantastic ROM, has done stuff I've wanted for months.. and that's where it ends. I honestly will not use this ROM until it changes base. AOKP is the worst, that's my opinion but you got yourself a fantastic ROM here. If these apps and various other apks aren't framework dependent then I'll use some in a different ROM.

It is great, but a little laggy. Will it get faster in the future? As well as this, the themes do not work. Any way to fix this? I am not trying to be mean, and by NO means am I a developer. I am amazed how you got this to work, and just want to help.
EDIT: The lag fixed itself, I dont know what happened. That is fine. Only problem is It wont reboot after first successful boot. It probably is Android Tweaker Pro. It is a great app, but also caused my stock rom to randomly reboot.

To answer a few of your questions. (Im updating thread now to)
1. I do plan on updating to 4.2 just need to update the code a bit and wait for the lockscreen to get ported.
2. Yes its based on AOKP 4.1.2
3. My rom is different because im going to take the time to keep it updated with anything new and im always constantly working on new ports to add to it. Its also more featureful, and its going to support toro and toroplus as soon as i get 4.2 working.
4. WHY YOU HATE AOKP SO MUCH? JK im using any base that i find most stable, im pretty sure im going to switch it for the 4.2 update since AOKP is constantly releasing updates for it and it will be hard to keep up with it.
5. Lag? I really have not noticed any lag besides the Xperia live wallpaper, thats sony's fault for not optimizing the app properly.
This ROM is running great. Loaded lean kernels latest stable 4.8 and all is good. A nice break from AOSP.

The AOKP hate, its opinion but on both devices I've owned they been just so horrible and cheesy.. I don't like that swag button. The features are lacking. Honestly I'm on a stable base of 4.2.2, using Orca. The features are just amazing. I'm guessing because I tried the apks is that a lot of this framework doesn't really work for 4.2.2? I mean this is basically an Xperia ROM. I'm really impressed, I'm really hoping we can eventually get an actual port but I doubt it.
Secretly "I want a W8 port" love the style they use. Call me whacky lol.. But this is awesome you've made a breakthrough, or well your the only person who technically cares to do something like this. So I appreciate it this a lot man.
Edit: 4.1 doesn't bother me, we basically miss out on the status bar features. Just the base.

Just a quick note of congratulations and thanks, +Hyperrunner. I've been with Android since the first G1s were shipped, and this port reminds me of all the really inventive, well-done ports that we saw for the G1 back when other devices and models began to appear. I've been waiting for a really cool port to put on the GNex (which has had excellent but slightly bland firmware as stock from the beginning), and this Xperia port of yours really hits the spot. I think the AOKP base was a great choice. If it plays well with Linux Deploy and continues to be stable, this will become my primary ROM. Thanks a bunch, you deserve donations for your contribution to the Android community!

You say there is Bravia Engine, is it just not a setting and always on? If that is the case, awesome.
Yes, bravia engine is always on its more of a configuration then an app. Its always one and it helps display pictures better.
