Hi there,
I installed the LunarUi theme on my friend's Nexus S which runs CM7 and I'm really impressed. This has to be one of the nicest themes I ever saw.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1243590
As I'm running the Exynos Rom on my handset and have no experience in themeing I wanted to ask if someone hast the time and is willing to port this awesome theme for our S2?!?
I'm sure many people would love to use this theme!!
Greets
Yeah I like the look of that!
Why not flash cyanogenmod and you can use it straight away?!

That sure would be the easiest way but not everyone wants to flash an entirely different rom. I'm pretty happy with Samsung based Roms.
Our you could try:
google.com/m?q=xda+theme+porter&client=ms-opera-mobile-android&channel=new
So I tried some methods of theme porting but with that little talent I have I had no luck getting it to work.
Is there really nobody who cares about this theme? I mean the craze on CM is huge, even on MIUI people are porting the theme. Latest version 3.5 looks sick!
No one willing to try on creating an universal JKAY theme?
I am gonna give this a go for the lidroid rom.

u r just amazing guy...waiting for u to port this theme for our galaxy s 2!!
I've used CM7 and it's nothing compared to some of the TW roms in here. I even tried Lunar, and it's great.
It would be nice if someone ported it to a TW rom. I know it can be done.

I am just done with framework & systemui. I have not started with apps. It is time consuming.
I need to get the original creators permission as well.

Amazing work! I just want the statusbar, that's my favourite! I can really live without the other CM7 features.
I did flash CM7 nightly 83 for SGS2 but it made my phone heat up too quickly and ate my battery with much gusto. I believe there are some suggested fixes for that but they require a bit too much reading and tinkering for me right now. Oddly the RC for my nookcolor worked perfectly; too bad LunarUI is not supported at that size.
Damn that's so sexy. You really make so many people happy with that theme (although it seems nobody cares about LunarUI, but I think you just have to love it!)

So whats up with themes?
Can I just browse through the themes section in G1 and apply any of those that are good for cyanogen? Wanted to mess iwth some diff themes such as buuf and what not, but I dont wanna go through the entire hassle of backing up and flashing and all that stuff if someone knows off the top of their head if itll work or not. (And Im at work so its kind of hard to do that )
I'm just guessing at the moment, but since test2 supports the 1.2 officially, it would seem that any theme for the ROM should work fine. I was going to nandroid and try one out
Look for blackzeth in the android themes section, thank me later.
I have released Community Hero Mix beta 2 for Test2.
Give it a try.

No problem. I hope that you enjoy it.
You surely have already heard about the Darkedge ui theme..in my eyes, the most complete dark black theme never seen on Android. Not only the system apk where inverted but the whole framework , including new apps installed, turned inverted, so that the black text invert white on black background. This is what we miss mostly on the curent themes we have on ICS . If themers could concentrate on that specific part of the framework, that would make themes looks even much better, i attached some pics of the Darkedge theme..i miss it
Darkdge was the best theme I have ever used...hands down. It was so complete and so sleek, it is what I miss most about my OG Droid. I would love if Darkedge came out on the G Nex, but I don't think it'll happen. I'm pretty sure that team is no more. I would love to be wrong, but unless someone can confirm anything else, that's what I'm going with.
that's nice man
i agree! it was for sure the most complete theme of all time! i would rock that on my nexus in a heart beat!
You can always try the DarkEdge ADW themes.. not nearly the same, but not bad if you really like it.
darkedge = awesome!!!!!

Of course ADW darkedge could reproduce a little taste of it..but sorry im partisant of the whole experience..the 100% theme
i tried to contact the themer Xedoxus, but no answer..the last news i got, was that they were working on a similar theme called "Sentio ui" and would be avalaible on the market for all android systems...well, not done yet...
wow this is unbelievably beautiful a theme...would be so nice on nexus
The theme just looks great...i hope someone will port it soon to our nexus

That would be great, but I doubt they'll let you. It would be a big job, it was such a complete theme...icons, menus, everything.

Most themers don't mind if you port their work as long as you give credit to them and don't ask for donations. Wouldn't hurt to ask

Here you go:
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/xeudoxus/43628-release-darkedge-ui.html
In the thread, they say to reach out to this email ([email protected]) to get approval for porting/modification.
I'd love to see this as well. Additionally, I think it would be flippin' awesome to modify/customize it to make it fluid with ICS as it already exists. Maybe that's just me.
It would have to be more than just ported over. Every image would have to be redone for our screens.

The most difficult part would actually be the tons of XML's not the png's,as they TOTALLY Inverted each part so that when you install any apk on your system, it will turn to white text on black background.. no one has done that before and no other theme till now!! All the modifications have been made in the framework-Res.apk
If you success porting it totally...you are a pro!!
POLL TO TRY AND GET DARKEDGE UPDATED FOR THEME MANAGER AND ICS. VOTE SO THEY CAN SEE HOW BAD WE WANT DARKEDGE BACK.

Not gonna happen. People have been asking for a long ass time and they don't want to do it. I agree that it was probably the best, most complete theme I have ever used and it would be even better on the GNex considering all that it is capable of, but I wouldn't hold my breath over it. Hopefully someone decides to try porting it, I know it would be a huge theme free or paid.
+1 for dark edge. Waiting for that theme to be released was a huge thing back in the day.. while I seriously doubt a full port will happen, that would be really awesome

I was wondering how difficult it would be to use Mijjah's "Slim and Trim" ROM but with a stock AOKP blue ICS theme? The ones in the theme section don't quite work that well for removing all the green that's been so expertly added in there ;P I'm guessing it would be easier to add Mijjah's mods to kbizzle's AOKP ROM but I'm not sure since I'm a noob. Any help would be appreciated and thanks to all the devs that make owning the E4GT even more fun :-D
Tiny bump
You should probably familiarize yourself with launchers and themes before flashing any ROMS.

If you e want three stock ics look, flash any other Ics rom. I don't understand people complaining about it not being stock colors when every other ROM is....
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
Ah. I suppose I should have expected a little flaming since this is the xda forums ;P I guess I shall word my posts a little more eloquently! I do not believe there is anything wrong with his theme, he is very good. I am entitled to have my own favorite color and attempt to theme accordingly. The reason I am wanting Mijjah's base is because it is SO DARN FAST! He really did an amazing job. Now to actually learn something!
I attempted to change out framework-res.apk and sytemUI.apk from AOKP to "Slim and Trim" to no avail. I just copy/pasted them in their respected folders through a root explorer and then restarted. This didn't work well because I got many FC's. So, I was wondering if maybe transfering the base files (not sure what they're called, I know he's tweaked the build.prop and he has init stuff for the kernel...but I'm not sure what I should transfer) to the stock AOKP ROM if I could still have the speed of Mijjah plus the styling of the stock ROM. I'm not attempting to bash anybody, I'm just trying to learn how to theme and hopefully give back to the community someday! I just have to start somewhere
This is a big task you are wanting to do. So I am gonna watch this thread to see where this goes...
I know, very unhelpful I am, Oh well.
If you really want to install systemui and his framework-res its best to have those in the rom before flashing, meaning start fresh with those files in your AKOP rom of choice. That should work if your installing these files AKOP to AKOP based roms.
If you dont want to do that you could take an update.zip theme, apply those 2 files removing any other file in system/???. Then odin el26/29 cwn kernel.tar, apply theme and then power down, power up in DL mode and reinstall your kernel for AOKP.
And after that if you still have problems, pm me and Ill provide all the help you need man
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Ok! You da man! I appreciate your help. So, I've copied the framework files and the app files from AOKP to Mijjah's replacing the identicals and keeping what else Mijjah added (beats audio and other neat stuff) and now I'm going to flash gapps over top of the /apps and then do I re-zip it all and flash it via EL26?
1) Extracted AOKP and Slim/Trim
2) AOKP framework --copied/replaced matching--> Slim/Trim framework
3) AOKP apps + gapps --copied/replaced matching --> Slim/Trim apps
4) Re-zip?
Edit:
Ok, it turns out there's a lot more crap in the gapps than originally anticipated! Would it be acceptable to flash them in CWM like you would regularly in AOKP/CM9 based ROMs? Would it replace the old files with the new files?
Took me 6 hours but I did it. Success, thy name is Koserman! I also appreciate your guidance TeamERA. Without it, it would have taken me much longer ;P

He knows about what the OP did, and IMO, OP should just PM him and ask if he can pass it out. I am pretty sure Mijjah would not have a issue with that.

I personally dont see why people want it to look like every other ics rom, the green is why I love this one. But to each his own I guess...
I am just requesting a vanilla AOSP theme for the ATT galaxy note. All the roms this phone are either butt ugly or stock. I don't want stupid gradients or transparency, just a good looking theme.

Sound like it's time for someone to become a themer.
Do a little reading. Learn a little something. Make a theme. ..and then share with the community. That's what this place is about. Not only will you have the theme you want... but you will have the satisfaction of knowing you did it yourself. Plus it feels pretty nice to give back to the community that has given to you.

I love red themes. And was envious of different bits of other people's themes.
So anyway, having tried 4.3, I still prefer 4.1.2 for my JKay mods. So I made a zip of the bits I wanted.
So here's a flashable zip of what I'm using as per the screenshots.
NOTE: I am running a stock rom EMH1, I'm not even rooted (as Sky Go/Barclays Bank apps won't work otherwise.)
Download link
If I mucked anything up just shout & thanks to various people, some of whom I can't even remember now...
The icons are not part of the zip - they are a theme I use with nova launcher...
Looking good
