You must flash hboot through fastboot, you need SDK on computer to run fastboot, fastboot devices is command to see if your device is connected.
can u tell the steps for doing it by fastboot method....because android flasher does find the device..

Hello evrybody,
Let me explain you the problem
Current configuration: HTC Desire (Bravo) PVT1 (ship s-on)
Baseband/Radio 32.54.00.32U_5.14.05.17
Rooted with unrEVOked v3
ROM LeeDroid v2.4.1
HBOOT v0.80.0000
I tryed to s-off my phone with AlphaRev v1.8 using VirtualBox v4.0.6 (with usb 2.0 support add-on installed) under Windows 7 Pro x86 with SP1.
For some (unknown to me) reasons it didn't worked for me....
Current situation:
- Impossible to boot the OS - blank htc screen
- In Bootloader menu ("Power"+"Volume down") when trying to enter Clockwork Recovery Mod sometimes phone rebooting 4 times and sometimes it make 7 fast vibrations but anyways dropes me to blank htc screen...
- While I'm in Bootloader and connected through USB to PC, I can see that in Device Manager - Android Phone - Bootloader Interface detected (drivers OK)
Please help me.....
Did you ask on the alpha rev irc channel?
Since your phone is still able to start the bootloader, you should be able to get it back up running using fastboot.
Step1: Download some stuff.
- An image of your favorite recovery tool. I'm using clockworkmod recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1039954&highlight=clockworkmod
You want the .img file.
- The Android SDK. Use Google =)
Step2:
Start the SDK Manager and download the SDK Tools and SDK Platform Tools. You now should have a "fastboot.exe" in the "tools"-folder.
Step3:
Connect your phone via usb, boot up the bootloader, and enter fastboot mode.
Step4:
Open a command line window using shift+right click in the folder where fastboot is. Launch "fastboot.exe devices". This should list your device. If not, Download the USB Driver Package using the SDK Manager and install the fastboot drivers. Windows might start whining about not being able to find the driver, but its definitely there. If fastboot.exe fails to start, you might need to copy it to the platform-tools folder and/or run cmd.exe using administrator privileges.
Step5:
Copy your recovery image to where fastboot.exe is and execute "fastboot.exe flash recovery <yourrecoveryimage>"
Further Steps:
You should now be able to boot into recovery and install roms.
You can also try to flash hboot using fastboot. If this fails, you got a handy $400 mirror to put in your pocket. You've been warned
Download a suitable image from alpharev (i think you want to go with the stock s-off hboot - that one with 250MB system) and flash it using "fastboot.exe flash hboot <hbootimage>" like described above.
Hope that helps.

The latest Hboot version is 6.93.. if that is your Hboot .. it difficult to get back but you can try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10919215&postcount=5
But if your Hboot is.. 0.93 than you can download below file.. rename it as only PB99IMG.ZIP and put it into root of you sd card.. and switch your phone by pressing volume down and power.. it will automatic detec the file and flash it..
IMPORTANT this will required a goldcard.. but your can try first without making one..
it might get your USB working

yes HBOOT ver is same as i mentioned.
ADB is not detecting my device as posted on your given link that i have to ADB but ADB is not detecting my device even though PC device manager shows Android phone.
When you are in fastboot.. that is volum down and power... update your driver with below
http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/windows_hboot_driver_install
and check adb
just installed drivers as per given instruction device manager shows Android ADB interface but again ADB shows error: device not found.
Download this
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...9.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed.exe
And than flash from this... I think you did not had USB debugging on .. when your phone was working... that could be the reason..
can you try this command ... fastboot devices

yehs.. you need to create a goldcard...
Please check your ADB now.. is it is working ..creating a goldcard is easy
just go to
http://theunlockr.com/2010/03/10/how-to-create-a-goldcard/
ADB is still not detecting my device.when i have no other phone then how can i make gold card as gold card can only make through phone.
yehs you can... one of the easiest way is.. if you have any one around having android phone.. just put your memorycard in that phone.. and in market search for an app called goldcard helper..it will give you your reverse CID..
If you dont have that .. than also there is a way.. but it will take time and you need to do lots of thing..
what you can do is.. if you are using windows pc.. than you can install... virtual machine.. and install linux in it.. so when you open linux.. you can get your memory card cid from there.. i dont knw the exact steps.. but you can easly find on Google.. ...
Once you got CID.. you can follow the above goldcard guide.. from step 7..
On a other note.. remove memorycard from your mobile.. and than flash the RUU .. see what happer.. you may never know
i think you should try to make ADB work.. thought when I bricked my mobile .. i was not able to use ADB.. so I use my friend mobile to get CID... I dont knw if this tool will work witout ADB.. but try this too
http://android.modaco.com/content/software/308798/pc-application-goldcardtool/
Set veriables also
Right click My computer > Properties > Advanced > Environment Variables
under system variables click "path" and click "edit"
at the end of the line add a sem semi colon ";" and without a space put C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools - It should look like ;C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools then click ok.
Just let us know.. the results

no it's not working.already tried.check attached image.
now working on through linux.just downloaded vmware image of linux.lets hope for the good.i will post linux experience.
Ya i hope you will be able to get it from linux...
as when you will connect your memorycard in linux.. you can directly acces the sector zero where CID store.. so Inshallah.. it will work
Dont want to dissapoint you but read this
You can if you have Linux. You need a Laptop card reader slot and Linux. Once in Linux, navigate to a folder like /sys/block/mmcblk0/device/cid
I havent tested it out in a LiveCD. Check it out and tell me.
Programmers have tried writing applications to interface the sdcard in USB mode to get its CID number, but it needs a PCI slot or device-a phone-Either Android/Windows Mobile. A PC application may be specifically written for a PCI based card reader to read the CID, but such an application would be hardware specific for the particular brand of PCI card reader. You cant use it unless you are a programmer and know to do that. As far as I know there are currently no Windows programs that do that.
To clarify, Once again,
The only thing you need from your memory card to create a goldcard, is its unique CID number (which is inserted by the manufacturer of the card)
The CID is unique to a memory card. It is not specific to the device
You can get the CID of the sdcard from:
Any Android phone which can connect and use the adb command.
A Linux operating system running on a Notebook with PCI slot which can read a memory card. Note: YOU CANNOT GET CID FROM LINUX FROM A USB CARD READER of a PC/Laptop. You need the PCI card slot.
You can even get the CID from a Garmin proprietory OS or a Windows mobile based phone. There are utilities available online using these, which can be seen in a Google search.
Do not try to get CID from any PC via USB cable. It can display a CID code but not the correct one. It is said that "USB lies about the CID".
goldcard created can u please tell me that what should i do now with this goldcard?
issue has been resolved by creating gold card and stock ruu.thanks for the support (jhonybravo4u)

I`m stuck on the alpharev sense hboot version and the error i get while flashing the RUU is when flashing the system partition which in this case is smaller then the stock one, i suspect this is why after typing fastboot oem in cmd my phone only boots the htc logo (green letters and white background)
Please help
I solved my problem just by flashing the downgrade hboot from the alpharev site. I typed fastboot flash hboot bravo_downgrade.img in cmd after previously extracting the bravo_downgrade.img into my androidsdk\tool folder. I amnowcertain that my problem was due to having flashed the alpharev sense hboot which didn`t have enough space on the system partition. It turns out that my problem wasn`t really that bad.

just tried to flash alpharev cm7r2 file using android flasher. In hboot mode it says alpharev cm7r2. I tried to boot into 4ext recovery but it says it fails to fetch recovery log. So I cant use recovery and if I try to use android flasher to flash recovery again or hboot it stops responding. What should I do?
Any help and I would be very grateful.
Assume that you are s-off.
Can you still get you h-boot screen?
If so you should be able to use fastboot to flash both recovery and h-boot.
I find it easier than android flasher.
There are plenty of guides about on using fastboot so would suggest reading them as well and have a search about as wont be the first to encounter this issue
Also use fastboot to wipe system and cache and reboot the bootloader and you should be fine......

Have a read of this thread
http://androidforums.com/desire-all...fastboot-windows-updated-1st-june-2011-a.html
It explains how to set up fastboot. The adb part is not relevant so once set up you can use commands like
Fastboot flash hboot c:\*****.img
Fastboot flash recovery
Fastboot erase
Which should enable you to change your hboot, recovery etc
The following link is a good step guide to changing your hboot along with a utility to set up fastboot

And I would also highly recommend the oxygen rom

Right
Click start > run > cmd
This will open a command window
Have you phone connected in fastboot mode
And then use fastboot commands to flash the recovery, hboot etc.
I would recommend changing your recovery to amon-ra ( but this is personnel choice)
You need the files you want to flash on you PC.
For example to flash an hboot you would use the following
Fastboot flash hboot c:\*****.Img
The same would apply for recovery etc
Fastboot flash recovery c:\*****.img
Once you have flashed hboot
Make sure you use fast boot to wipe system / cache / reboot bootloader.
Have a read of the oxygen.im link I posted on one of my previous posts in this thread.

Have I got the files in the correct places? Where should they be because I tried to follow the instructions very carefully?
Thanks so much for your help I hopefully nearly there!
right,
finally booted up my laptop so this should get easier for me.....
how did you root your phone, did you use unrevoked or did you s-off with revolutionary and then install the recovery that came with it.
Can you answer the following
You have the h-boot drivers installed ?
You have download and followed the steps for the SDK files.
You have set the environment variables as previously mentioned.
When you boot your phone holding down the volume button and power you get the hboot screen, can you then select fast boot. and with your phone connected to your pc does it change from fast boot to fastboot usb.
if so the commands should work. if not you could try the utility by _thalamus on the oxygen.im website
http://forum.oxygen.im/viewtopic.php?id=1412
You may want to change your recovery to amon-ra or an earlier version of clockworkmod 2.5.0 something....(i use amon-ra and rate it very highly, you can down load it from the following
http://androidforums.com/desire-all...oads-root-users-updated-22nd-july-2011-a.html)
if you can answer the above I will endeavor to assist further but why this is not setting up correctly on your pc is a bit confusing for me

Use the fastboot method via command prompt.... Had the same problem....
1) Download and install the Android SDK
2) Copy fastboot from platform to platform-tools (Might not be included in the latest sdk releases)
3) Download the hboot and place it in the platform-tools map
4) Open cmd and navigate to the SDK
5) type 'fastboot flash hboot {filenameofhboot}.img
That should work
Please post the CMD output here.
Thanks for your help guys but just did the drastic thing (before your replies) and unrooted/rerooted lol. all fine now

However, it gets about 3 minutes in, then on my laptop says "ERROR [110]: FILE OPEN ERROR. The Rom Update Utility cannot open the requested files or the files are damaged.
The phone stays a black screen with a white warning symbol in each corner, rebooting into recovery has the following information:
AlphaRev CM7 r2
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-4.06.00.02_2
[1]SPLASH 1 - OK
[2]USERDATA - OK
[3]SYSTEM - FAIL-PU
[4]RECOVERY - OK
[5]RADIO_CUST - OK
[6]RADIO_V2 - OK
[7]BOOTLOADER - Bypassed
[8]BOOT - OK
Partition update fail!
Update fail!
I've tried downloading the RUU 3 times, and get the same trouble each time. Can anyone help? (I can't post this in development as i'm a n00b still...)

You have cm7r2 hboot which gives you only 145MB for system partition and RUU requires stock partition table (250MB for system).
Flash alpharev stock hboot via fastboot, it can be obtained here:
alpharev.nl
After that run RUU, it should work perfectly.
Plus:
Reconsider using some other RUU the one you used is history old. Try with 2.3 RUU.

Thanks for that, i'm used to my sensation for flashing ROMs etc, i've just read up on this phone as I didn't realise there is different hboots to make different file tables!
OK, i've tried to use both alpharev and revolutionary, when I downloaded the img file for alpharev I can't get it to load, when I mount it, it just loads a folder with no executables, and revolutionary just sits on waiting for device?

What r u trying to mount it on, a virtual drive on ur pc??
Hi,
Yeah, i've tried installing them but nothing seemed to happen, i've gone in to device manager and changed drivers so instead of "My HTC" it now shows as "Android Bootloader Interface" but it still sits on "Waiting for device." Are there any ROMS that use the CM7 r2 available as a RUU package?
lol i just read the first post, sorry my bad. u r s-off and have CM7r2 hboot. if u dont like CM rom why not just flash another instead of going completely stock and s-on?

I was going to just install the RUU for now but that might have been a better idea before starting lol... Unless I can get either revolution to work so I can reflash a recovery or a RUU..

Problem is when I plug the USB in, even doing the vol down + power press brings me this...
rite so ur stuck in ruu mode. android flasher should still work coz u can still use fastboot commands. try flash the stock hboot img with android flasher. turn off phone then hold back button + power, that brings u to fastboot

I've tried that, and got the following:
C:\Users\Phil\Desktop\Android_AIO_Flasher\tools>fastboot flash boot "C:\Users\Phil\Downloads\bravo_alphaspl.img"
sending 'boot' (512 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.098s]
writing 'boot'...
C:\Users\Phil\Desktop\Android_AIO_Flasher\tools>
FAILED (remote: image error! (BootMagic check fail))
finished. total time: 0.099s
ul have to try with fastboot commands instead, here r the commands - fastboot flash hboot C:\bravo_alphaspl.img
put the bravo_alphaspl.img directly into ur C drive then run command
