hi,i've got two android devices (HTC Desire and ACer A500) and i've noticed that the calender events (especially the ones already synced to the account before this bizzare issue) on my google account on both devices can't be edited. Each time I select an event from the calender app or agenda widget, it displays the following:
* The event name, date, time, the account name and reminder (Those are usually there before the said issue).
Then the new details after i noticed this issue are as follows:
* Attendee (which i've never encountered before)
* Attending? (Which is an icon asking if someone will be attending the event or not).
This is very frustrating cos as of yesterday, i was able to edit events on the google account's calender without issue. Though, if i enter new events onto the account, those new ones are allowed to be changed. I've tried everything on both devices as well as signing into my account on my PC in order to trace the problem's origin through the calender settings but to no avail.
All i did before this problem started was edit a few details on my google account such as billing address and method of payment. Could this two result in calendar events disruption? Thanks, your assistance would be really appreciated.

I currently use mail2web, their service was free now its $4.95 a month. I'm thinking of dropping it and using Google Sync but thought i'd get some insight.
I used Google Sync for a couple of days after they announced it and wasn't too pleased.
here's the known limitations from google's support page
Overview: Known Limitations
Print
Google Sync for Windows Mobile is still in Beta. We're constantly working on improvements, but we've listed below some known limitations.
* Changing Order of Recurring Event May Remove From Device
If an instance of a recurring event is moved to the same day as the previous or the following instance of the same series, or if it is moved to occur before the previous or after the following instance of the series, the entire series will not be displayed on the device Calendar.
* Changes to Meeting Attendees on Device Aren't Synchronized to Server
If the list of invitees to a meeting is changed on the device, these changes will not be reflected on the server after synchronizing.
* Imported Recurring Events May Not Sync
If you've imported calendar entries from another calendar system into Google Calendar, you may find that only the first occurrence of the event is synchronized, or - in some cases - the event may not be synchronized at all. Recurring events created within Google Calendar will sync correctly.
*Calendar Invites via Gmail Forwarding or replying to Calendar invites in your Gmail inbox is not yet supported when using Google Sync for Mail.
* Apps Administrators: Learn how to enable Sync for your domain.
* Attachments Not Syncing: Google Sync is occasionally failing to properly process attachments. We are working on a fix that we hope to push soon.
* Custom From: Address: At this time Google Sync does not support custom "From:" addresses.

I use a lot of recurring appointments for my classes. Does anybody else use google sync and recurring appointments and have any issues with them?
Also i tend to send emails with attachments and have already experienced issues with this with google set up via i-map.
I have mail2web set up with 3 email accounts forwarded to my mail2web email.
A couple months back calendar syncing has stopped working with my mail2web.
What other options are out there? preferably free.
I use Seven, it works very well everytime I have tried it. Easy to set up and it doesn't take a lot of battery or CPU/RAM.

skip to the end for the solution!
Our IS department helpfully upgraded our exchange server overnight to exchange 2010.
After putting in the new details we hit a problem - the calender refused to sync and just came back with the unhelpful "an error has occurred"
We did a bit of googling and realised that quite a few other people were having the same problem with 2010. Most had placed the fault with HTC or Android - we were able to do a bit of digging and certainly with our problems we found a solution.
We tried to sync with another account on our phones (2 different Desires one orange branded one "normal") another test account synced fine - no errors. So that narrowed the fault down to our specific exchange accounts. A bit more googling suggested that possibly corrupted entry's in the calender were causing the sync to fail - or open ended repeating appointments (such as birthdays)
Our IS department found 1 corrupted entry in my colleagues account (a meeting that appeared to be set for some time 3072 ....) I deleted all of my repeating birthdays (they were all in my Google cal anyway). Once this was done both accounts started to sync with no problems.
So the short version - if you cant sync with exchange 2010 on your HTC Desire - find and remove those corrupted entry's and/or delete/edit open ended repeating appointments.
Hopefully this will be useful to someone who will be able to avoid the same couple of hours of panic that we had this morning!
Argh. I cannot tell my users to delete all their open-ended recurring appointments when we migrate to Exchange 2010 later this year...
We also had this problem with exchange 2010 and a number of Desire's and have resolved it by following the advise on/showthread.php?p=6305877#post6305877"]http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6305877#post6305877
When we selected all appointments, assigned a category, then selectd all appointments again and removed the category. waited 10 minutes to ensure Outlook cache and Exchange has synced.
After this the phones worked fine.

the open ended thing maybe not the solution - it may be that one of the recurring appointments was corrupted - could have just been coincidence
the category solution sounds much better !!
alternative for low number of users of exchange
sync emails and contacts normally, download htc sync to computer for calendar. Not Ideal but it works from exchange to the phone but not from the phone to exchange
I want to bump up this thread, as a form of thanks to TS, because after hours of troubleshooting (on why my calendar doesn't get sync), and numerous factory reset, I found out that it's indeed some corrupted entry in the calendar that causes the calendar not being able to sync!
Thanks ever so much!
This solution worked for me on a HTC Wildfire with Android 2.2
As advised, I went into my Desktop Outlook calender, and either deleted or "Saved & Closed" all recurring appointments. Used the month view for this. Works like a charm now! Thank you once again
i never had problem syncing with exchange 2010
Guys,
I had the same issue where the calendar wasn't syncing. The fix that I found was that I had some recurring appointments in outlook with no end date. I put an end date on these in outlook, let it sync back to the server and then the calendar synced first time.
Hi,
my search through the forums didn't yield anything about this particular problem so I would like to ask all of you whether you have this problem or not.
I successfuly updated to Froyo, everything was ok for a few weeks. Then litteraly from one minute to another I lost all my calendars except for the main one.
I use my google account and sync with google calendar. I have my main calendar and I also subscribed to my wife's calendar and created one additional private one.
Since yesterday (with no apparent reason) every calendar expect the main one has disappeared from my Desire and refuses to sync them. They are not listed in the other calendars in Desire app.
I can still see the calendars on Google web but I am unable to get them to Desire. I tried modifying an event, deleting an event, creating an event, renaming the calendar... but nothing helps. This morning I did a hard reset (which I was planning to do anyway) but even that doesn't help.
So to sum up: I can only sync one calendar despite the fact that on Google's server I have 3 of them. I would like to stress that I didn't change a thing that would cause any problems with calendars.
I hope some of you will be able to help me.
Thank in advance.
Ah, forget it... I just didn't realize how stupid Android can be sometimes.
Just for info - for no apparent reason all of my calendars have been removed from Desire. And the Calendar->Settings option had to be explicitly told (via the MENU button) to add the remaining calendars...
Stupid stupid... but at least I got them back - until the phone decides again by itself that is time to hide them. Meh
Hello all,
Yesterday, suddenly, on my CEO's Desire problems appeared - can not sync with Exchange calendar any more.
The following messages and Event ID in Exchange log appears:
Event ID:8260
An attempt was made to save an appointment with the subject "here is the subject" to mailbox . The duration of the appointment was too large, so it was not saved.
Event ID:8206
Calendaring agent failed with error code 0x80040219 while saving appointment.
Event ID:8199
Calendaring agent failed in message save notification with error 0x80040219 on /Calendar/{E35D82CE-8D08-4E5A-8859-AA139773A8A1}.EML.
Event ID:3005
Unexpected Exchange mailbox Server error: Server: [dioniz.imaves.local] User: OM HTTP status code: [500]. Verify that the Exchange mailbox Server is working correctly.
On Desire, message appears as: There are error on Exchange server
Other 2 Desire's in company, does not have any problems with Exchange sync.
Also, all other Exchange functionalities works fine.
All 3 Desire's running Froyo 2.0. Unrooted, stock HTC ROM.
Before yesterday, everything works fine.
Already checked Google and MS Knowledge base...no exact solution. Some solutions works for some people, but for most of them do not works.
Anybody facing the similar problem and what is the best way to solve it?
Thanks in advance,
Exactly the same problem
I have exactly the same problem.
I have subsequently tried dumping all the calendar entries from Outlook(server side), and the problem persisted.
I removed the active sync account from the Desire and the server errors went away, right up until I added it again and synced. Some of the calendar entries synced back to the server, but most not. I imagine that a calendar entry on the device has become corrupted.
I will post on my progress resolving this.
a couple of our customers are experiencing the same problem...
i thought the problem was resolved by following these steps:

at first this solution worked .. but a week later the problem is back
Anybody found any solution to the M$FT Exchange calendar not syncing with this version of Sense?
Sorry, pls ignore!!
Exchange Calendar sync-fix?
Found various posts suggesting that deleting and re-creating the Active Sync account fixed this. The key element seems to be deleting ALL the Calendar data on the Desire after you've deleted the ActiveSync relationship...
"I deleted the Exchange Activesync account. Because there was still data in my calendar after that action, I cleared the data in Calendar and Calendar storage (Menu --> Settings --> Applications --> Manage applications-->All). Added the Exchange Activesync account again and working again for now."
If this proves to be a temporary fix I'll try to remember to update this.
Hey,
Until yesterday everything was fine. For some reason I can no longer save calender events in the built in calender app, or digical or the google calender app. Whenever my phone syncs a new calender event (I sync via google), the event gets deleted. I the other direction (when I enter a new event on my computer via web google calender or iCal for Mac) the event gets saved and there is no problem. All events that I saved before yesterday are still viewed normally.
Android 4.2.2
Model number FP1
Any ideas how to resolve this issue?
Thank you!
