You forgot to flash google apps (it's in first post inside CM7 thread)

[Q] app is Your device is not compatible with this item when it is :(
Ok so I tried searching and the only answers I could come up with were for a different rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11626645&postcount=425) as the video said I'm a noob I hate myself, it's right lol. But I can't seem to figure this out. Before I dive in I want to know if it's similar for my current ROM to these steps. I don't want to screw anything up I tried clearing the market data, and checking the adult filter. None of that helped.
Phone is HTC DHD Telus is the provider, So I rooted to Android_Revolution_HD-4G_6.1.5 without any problem. Flashed over to the suggested radio. Phone seems to be working good and fast but I can't install the app. It ran on my phone before I rooted... what am I doing wrong. Even when I find it not through the market. It takes me to the market and says "Your device is not compatible with this item" and I know that's a load of crap. If there's someone smarter then me out there (so pretty much anyone) Help please

I'm having same problems with other apps and an earlyer version of ARHD(6.1.2). Would sure like to know how to resolve this. I'm thinking the ROM gives back a model, android version and manufacturer to android market(and maybe more info, i'm not an expert). If this says HTC Desire HD android 2.3.3, this is good. If this says Android Revolution Desire HD android 2.3.5 and this is not the response in the list of "the app" you want to download than market says "NO"???????? Or maybe it's something else?
At least I'm not the only one who can't figure it out
From what I can gather, its the new market causing the problem.
Wait until google fix it, or install an older market and delete the updater.

+1 JagDave is right!!
And you may also try :
1. Change the LCD density to 240 by editing build.prop using buildprop editor or something from the market,
2. Reboot (Normal),
3. Go to settings, then application, find market there and clear the cache and data (very important), and
4. Open Market and try to download your apps now!!
Worked for me, dont know about you but i hope it does work for you as well!!
I ended up going and swapping to CM7 cause I was having some other issues and that seemed to fix it thanks everyone!

Hey everyone, im a complete noob, I have been wanting to get cyanogenmod for my Desire for a long time now and only now did I dare to go for it.
I followed this guide step by step and it works perfectly: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084
Problem I got now is when I want to add accounts to sync and stuff, I cant, it gives me an error. Can someone please tell me what to do?
Best Regards
what error does it give?
It says "couldnt connect to the server"
Tho, on the server part it says "gmail.com" is that suppose to be something else?
Um, I just stumbled upon this: hxxp://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Latest_Version#Google_Apps
Do I need to download that Google Apps thing? What would I do after?
Yep I had to flash Google Apps, works now, im so happy i didnt brick my phone lol.
i just got onto rempuzzle today, its running cool and smooth but i have some issue with android market. i tried to download angry birds, but couldnt install it. it finished downloading and then some error appeared that it cant be done or something like that so i deleted it and installed gapps and its even worse, because it just asks me for my google account and when i click yes, it force closes.. i tried to fix permissions, didnt work. can anyone help me?
Do you have an external partition on your sdcard??
If not you should really learn to read the first post of threads thoroughly before flashing anything.

yes i do, i actually did the fixes that were included in rempuzzle thread in the first place after flashing the rom
edit: nevermind, i changed the rom.. thanks for the response though
HEy Guys,
I Cant seem to find a thread regarding this.
First of all- GREAT ROM GUYS!!! Best one out there.
ive just installed Venom 2.1.0 on my HTC One X, and ive upgraeed to the latest facebook app and i get this when i login. (see Attached)
If anyone knows the fix or when it may be fixed??\
Beatiain
Strange ! I'm using push and it's working fine.
Have you set up a google account on the phone?
I cannot confirm this, i'm using that ViperX rom and I've not had a problem with push notifications or syncing. Perhaps you should try what the above poster said, if not try fastboot erase cache, or erasing caches in CWM or even reflashing the rom, anything is worth a try! :good:
Yeah ive setup a google account on it,
Syncing Seems to fine on it, i did install Friendcaster and tested if its notifications worked- Which they did so im starting to think its more on the facebook app side of things.
Thanks Guys will give clearing caches and etc a go and let you know.
sorry i cant post in the development thread. is there a tutorial on how to update rom. i'm on viperx 2.0. i already downloaded 2.0.1 and 2.1. thanks.
Ok, so I have ended up on this rom with my SGH-I317M (canadian version)
Seems to work ok, except for a few things.
I really dont care about android 7.. I would just like to get this working as best I can.
Anyone direct me to a good thread? or can you help?
1 - I cannot see my storage anymore when I plug into the computer. It shows a GT-7105N now.. and it is blank. the storage is there.. I assume this is a debug issue.. or developers etc..???
2 -I use google calendar - a calendar was on the phone after the rom and the g-apps install, but had a big + sign on the icon, and when I tried to use it, asked for my account.. but then said the account was already there.. I ended up having to go to google play.. downloading calendar again.. which it did install as another app.. and that works.. but what am I missing here?
I have searched as best I know how, but is there a ResurrectionRemix-Marshmellow thread somewhere I am not finding??
James
OK, up to 5.7.4 now and seems to be good. Disabled the google calendar from the AOSP and loaded the older Calendar on.. seems to work fine. Yes I was surprised that RR does not set Media transfer by default .. thats why I could not see my cards. GPS is working like a charm.
SO something breaks the GPS going from kitkat to Marshmellow. No idea what.. but I guess I am Android 6 + going forward.
