Hi all,
I've just bought the Desire (given my Legend to my girlfriend) & I'm VERY HAPPY with my Desire.
My phone has an asian software (with Chinese keyboard)
Firmware version: 2.1-update1
Baseband: 32.41.00.32U_4.08.00.09
Software No.: 1.19.707.7
Please help me out with a few questions below:
1. I can't find the compass in the Desire, that means it's a third party app?
I've read a bit here & I have 2 options of getting the Froyo 2.2:
- Option 1: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741836
- Option 2: http://darrenrichie.blogspot.com/
Personally, I want to get rid of the Chinese keyboard. so, my 2nd question is:
2. I'm from Vietnam, would like to get rid of the chinese keyboard, that means I want the European froyo?!?!
3. Which option should I go with, or is there a better option?
Some here have experienced the signal problems after getting the Froyo 2.2 update. So, Please advice of what I should do.
Thanks,
D
I am running defrost6.0e and I love it but I cant get H Data signal just 3g or g.
I have tried 3 different radios but none seem to make any difference.
32.48.00.32U_5.11.05.14
32.48.00.32U_5.10.05.30
32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27
currently running 32.44.00.32U_5_09.05.30_2 Origional Orange Radio
I can get H OK when using a Sense Rom though
Any 1 else have any ideas or are on Orange can tell me what raido they are running.
Thanks
it is most probably a ROM side issue, nothing to do with radios, or maybe a minor relevance only
i am using 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27
try updating to DF 6.0g
Hi all,
I've tried some rom and flash, and sometime i meet this probleme :
- get no or worse signal
- missed calls or dropped calls
- seems to get no 2g signal
Result => my phone became a pocket android....without gsm fonction...
Manytime i've saw other member met this problem....
So after many attemp, remplacing radio file in folder system/etc/motorola/bp_nvm_default has solved my problem for theses rom :
- Rooted and not froyo chinese rom
- JBoojie Eclair or Froyo (actually running)
- Milestone 2
- etc...
It work for me, so try it !
I've made a zip upgrade via Recovery mode with my working radio file (comes from original EU Eclair rom v2.34)
Please feeback
PS : i was using this source http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1596785
EDIT : fix confirmed by EU users
I'll try....
as I havn't found the file you providing here, I've got a question: Where are the radiofiles from (US ROM, Netherlands ROM....) ???
I've got the China 2.2 ROM running here, and I've made a file check. 4 of those 14 files are different to your files, but NOT by filesize.
Those files are:
File_Audio2
File_Audio8
File_GSM
File_Seem_Flex_Tables
I'm going to get those files from a 2.34 Central Europ ROM also to make this check again... stay tuned
Edit: those 2.34 Files exactly match your files.
Yes i've use 2.34, it has solve all my worse signal issue with many rom.
It could work only with my french operator, i don't know if it's needed for all ?
Also, try this if you are european user and if you meet signal problm after installing new modified froyo rom, it work for me.

Did the ItfunzBaseBandSwitcher.apk alone not help improving your signal?

I'll try it with next test rom (vanilla froyo), i'll let u know
This just solved my issues with T-Mobile (Germany) and Froyo ROMS. Thanks a lot!
ItfunzBaseBandSwitcher.apk work too, but not for the new T-mobile rom here :

It seems like that is only a display iussue. For me it always show "3G", instead of "H" but when I use *#*#4636#*#* it shows either UMTS or HSPA depending if the telephone uses HSPA or not.
Thanks man!!!
it works perfectly for Vodafone Germany with Orange Deblur BlurlessGingerFroyo 4(Final) Rom!!!

However
Android version is 2.3.6
Model number: MB526
Baseband version: EPU93_U_00.60.03
System version: 45.0.2310.MB526.AsiaRetail.en.03
Kernel versioon: 2.6.32.9-ge281b6e...
Build number: 4.5.1-134_DFP-231

Hi all,
i have simple quest, if i flast radio to newer version what positive changet it comes?
I have in my WF CyanogenMod 7.1.0 Rc and 13.45.55.24H_3.35.15.31 radio.
Gps are work etc ll is good. I found that neweat radio is version 3.35.20.10?
So can somone answer, need i flast that?
Or is all radios flash only when have gps problems etc?
Cheers,
with new radio there is shorter time to "catch" gps signal...
different radios can potentially improve signal strength, battery life etc.
Hi all
I have the same question.
I was on Cyanogenmod 7.0.3 the updated to cm 7.1 after the update i have noticed that the signal strength isn't as usual (stock 2.2 & cm 7.0.3).
and i live in a weak signal area, my phone goes out off coverage, and when i go to an area where there is a good coverage, the phone don't get the signal back unless i go to airplane mode the to normal again.
will flashing a new radio fix these problems??
and are radios differnet from a country or a region to another?
now am on version: 13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10
is there a newer version??
thanks in advance .
just re-flast the 20.10 version again. it will help
Currently I have a DHD with MIUI 2.323 (Gingerbread) on, with android version 2.3.7.
I was wondering if ICS (a stable version) is possible to get as the updates have stopped for GB. I went to the U.K MIUI website and the latest ROMS for MIUI ICS seem to not be available for DHD.
Also, the current radio version I have is:
"Release
October 2010: Radio_12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26_M - HTC WWE 1.32.405.6
Radio.img MD5 Checksum: 989501d06389d212143b491c14724c05"
Is it worth upgrading to the latest one found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877295&highlight=radio? What benefits are gained from upgrading the radio version?
Any help is very much appreciated!
I'm in the middle of nowhere as far as cell towers, and the latest radio bumped me from 2G to full HSDPA.
That said Orange still only gives me 2G, but the T-Mobile mast gives me HSDPA.
In addition, my wifi range has been extended considerably.
Hope this helps

And no, it is not stable as it runs on ICS.
Since every device has its own unique build with different countries and telcos, you have to test it yourself. But as mentioned above, it really has noticeable wifi improved performance. It also has better battery life.
