Anyone bought a replacement glass or have a trustworthy site they can recommend?
Oh nos! How did you do that to the Gorilla? Amazon has it for $35. Link
ouch! what happened?
That's better.

OMG Ririal, what did you do to break a gorilla glass? that's what I call heavy modding LOL
Ririal, you shot in the screen or just gave some hits with a hammer? XD
congrats for this impossible achievement =p
Probably went something like this:
"Oh, you wanna drop my wifi again?"
SMASH
"Oh, now you want to fail to open market again?"
SMASH SMASH
"Oh, now you dont have any data singal?""
SMASH SMASH SMASH
"Now where did i put my trusted nexus one...?"

Sounds like a user error. Check your grey matter level and reboot.
Man I thought I was in the same boat yesterday myself. Dropped her about 3 feet to concrete paver sidewalk and it landed face down, bounced, landed facedown again. I was hesitant to pick it up and look at the screen. Walked away with a broke incipio feather case and a gouge in the battery cover. I went ahead and ordered a new gorilla screen just in case I do it again lol.
Hit a pothole riding my bike in the middle of a thunderstorm. Was in my right pocket, which is right where I landed. I have an Atrix-shaped bruise on my thigh that hurts like a *****.
Thanks for the Amazon link, $35 is cheap and the phone is pretty easy to repair.

Good thing the digitisers are cheap. I'm on my 3rd, and my 2nd LCD now.
That iFixit guide is pretty useless FYI. It mostly concentrates on what hardware is there, rather than how to fix it.
There are a couple of youtube vids up that're much more useful.
This repairs universe guide is pretty good up until it comes to removing the existing digitiser, then they just get stupid, telling you to heat it up and remove it from the front. It takes 20 seconds to first remove the LCD (Which you have to do eventually anyway).

Think I'll make my own tear down vid.

Lord but I HATED that scratch. It ran from the top of my precious EVO's screen all the way down to the middle. It haunted me. It taunted me. It nagged at me. No matter what I tried, nicer case, higher quality screen protector, the SCRATCH was always there, mocking my existence.
So I took it to Sprint, paid $35 and they replaced the whole damn screen, LCD and all. El scratcho diablo es el gondo!
** NOTE - Yeah, I have insurance on the phone but insurance doesn't cover cosmetic stuff. I could have just busted the screen before I took it in and gotten it for free but I was afraid I might break the whole phone in the process and end up paying a $100 deductible and waiting on a refurbished POS. Plus there was that small issue of lying, karma and damage to my immortal soul.
I paid the $35.
cool story breh
lol @ el scratcho diablo
glad you got it fixed.
How does you scratch it? i was under the impression that you would have to try pretty hard to do that.

Actually quite easy to scratch. If you run a razor blade across it sharp end down, it wont scratch, but if you dragged the pointed edge of the bladed sideways across it it would scratch. Jagged sharp things can scratch it.
I dragged a piece of paper with a sharp staple on the bottom across it and it scratched real good.
Seems like a very reasonable fix for $35. I wonder if all sprint repair centers have that option though?

why don't you get ghost armor. spend another $35 to make sure it never happens again, or at least $20 for just the screen protector.
glad to hear they did this so easily and reasonably priced though.
My local Sprint repair center told me the same thing about 3 weeks ago. I was in getting my speaker replaced and they were telling me prices on different things. Glad I always pay for insurance on my phones. Now my finace wont put a screen protector on hers. She said she would rather pay 35 for a new screen than 20 for a protector and lose some of the look and feel.....made me think about doing the same

Actually I'm a big screen protector guy. However as fate would have it, I was changing out screen protectors and messed up the new one. Couldn't get back to the store that day and that's when I got the scratch from hell. Just bad luck.

Good to hear of your experience. $35 seems perfectly reasonable - especially since the parts for the EVO are sometimes selling for far MORE than that Ebay - and they do all the work replacing it for you.
A friend of mine told me about this and I had to test it.
First we applied water to my battery's white water indictor tab. It turned pink.
We then tried hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide turned the indicator bright, bright red.
Finally we applied a bit of bleach and it turned right back to white.
Here's another tip... Apply a bit of scotch tape over the white tab whenever you get a new device to keep them nice and shiney.
lol this is too funny!
i was doing something special to my batteries lastnight and had the urge... i had to...
lick the indicator.. i couldnt resist. took a good minute and a big gob of spit to turn pink....
i like the bleach trick!!...

Well, I guess thats a good enough answer... Just don't lick it after applying the bleach!
Wait, maybe that's the explination right there!
I've heard that some phones have several of these indicators on them. The battery compartment being one of them.
Now THIS is some useful information
thanks for posting!
Also works on Iphone 3G indicators
Huh??
I'm really surprised that no one has asked this but, WTF are you guys smokin' that makes you want to lick batteries...

Hey people,
I know many have had this dilema of cleaning the white HTC One X from jeans but I have a slightly more complicated issue.
I bought a case as soon as I ordered my HOX a while back and have taken it off for the first time... only to realise that the case has left quite a fair bit of blackness on the back cover. I cannot remove it using water or a Macbook cleaning kit.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to approach this?

Might have, might have not. On my S4 I shattered the Tempered glass pretty bad. Wasn't sure if it saved my screen. Took it off and screen was without a scratch. I've had great experiences with the Iloome one. The regular one, not the flex. And it's way cheaper than Spigens. Plus it feels like nothings on and a little extra protection won't hurt.

It's part of the chassis, you'd have to literally remove every single part from the phone, including the screen/glass, to replace it.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OEM-Hous...lePhoneAccessories&hash=item19e3905929&_uhb=1
The display/front glass assembly is glued to the chassis so if you try to remove it, you'll likely break it, or at the very least get tons of dust under the screen. Sucks, but you just gotta live with it.

Doesn't bother me. When I first saw it I thought it was apart of the phone. But I will however trade my note 3 because my proximity sensor has been broken for a month now ?

What I didn't mention is this happened in a t-mobile store as I was trying this case on during my lunch break. Went back to store and they said there is nothing they can do, even with the manager there I pleaded. So a hairline crack will not be taken care of unless you feel like paying your $175 deductible or whatever it is.
Samsung can't care less, and left another angry voice mail with incipio.
