for those of you on Orange UK
check out the marketplace.
there is now an "Orange Selects" section and you can download free versions of apps such as Cocktail Flow, Touchnote, Pathfinder etc.
Sorry if this is old news.. I only noticed it last night!

Where is it?
I'm not seeing it, but I fear this is either because I'm not using an Orange SIM in mine or more likely because I uninstalled the Orange app out of the programs! Can someone be very specific about where it appears, then I can be sure? Is it supposed to be in that first list where you get HTC Apps, applications, games & music?

I am also on mango and I get this too.
It happens to everyone on mango beta.
To get around it (to get your free apps) just go to the marketplace search and type "Orange UK" and it will give you the same list as the "Orange Selects" section.

That doesn't seem to work for me, I just get 4 results, 3 of which are music.

Are all the Apps free when you follow this procedure? Only some are free when I do this.

From what I know we're getting 1 free app per day for every day in July. So each day you go in to the orange selects section one of the apps in there will be free (the price changes to £0.00 for 1 day then changes back to whatever it was originally)

When it first appeared all the apps were free.
So far from July I have got Stars 3d and Travel London.
Both useful.
I got cocktailflow free from the MIX promotion.
So far they have been very good.

I have the free version of that, it's really good.
I'm not missing another one.
The only problem I see is that once we downgrade back to NoDo, all the apps that we installed on Mango will be deleted (AFAIK) so we'd have to pay for these apps once the Mango Beta ends. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

That sleepmaster app just seems like an accident waiting to happen.
Plug it into mains and then sleep with it in your bed? A lot of reviews citing the phone getting red-hot which seems inevitable. Not something that i'll be doing.

Hi all
I understand that the Windows Phone marketplace policy is that once you have purchased an item, you can re-download it anytime later if it has been deleted from your phone. This should include future updates to applications/games. The purchase is linked to your Windows Live ID rather than the phone.
The only problem is if the item is removed from the Marketplace after your purchase.

Is it not in your games hub? The new version is put there for some reason. It shouldn't be removed from your phone.

Yeah it is, Thanks for that. The Tile vanished from my homescreen and it wasn't in my list of apps I assumed it had been remotely removed.

I'm sure very few people see this app,i think it is just up on marketplace for few hours.I have it working on my mozart,it is the fastest twitter app so far,faster than birdsong motweet and rowi.Furthermore,no issue while exiting from the built in browser.

They withdrawn Shazam from the marketplace, but it stills on my phone. Shazam is now consider games. lol
Shazam was probably removed for putting thier icon in XBox Live Hub...
That's a good thing IMO. Rules are not made to be broken

That was an error and while they don't fix it, Shazam was removed from the Market (direct linking still works).

How much did it cost. I mean the version that isn't Ad-Infested I stopped using Ad-Ware months ago.
Birdsong has Toast and Live Tile Notifications now. Does Tweetcaster have that?

This is just a small app for fun...
When you start the app you see little cats walking around the screen and when you whistle to the cats they turn around and look at you for a moment...
That's all!
I've tried a lot to accomplish the whistle detection through the microphone...
For those who tried to download the app, you will have to tell me the email that is connected to your Zune account so i can add you to the beta testers list and then you will be able to download the app. Else you get an error or something....

I dont think is the radio (because it is only responsible for wireless mobile operator networking functions, wow, that sounded cool) also i dont think the server for markeplace is down... but i have no idea...
Nice little application. My cat must think I'm crazy since I'm whistling at my phone. Both live cat and app cats respond.
There's a clicking noise on the sound and I think the sound is a bit scary, if you had kids entertainment in mind. I expected to see a ghost after hearing the sound, to be honest. Hehe. Nice work though. ;-)

Got my 2 apps published and can see the same under my AppList, it says certified and it is under the Publised tab, but it is still not showing up in the MP.
Any idea?
Publishing can take 24-48 hours.
It does take time. 24-48 hours is pretty accurate. I have been able to see my published apps in the website http://windowsphone.com/marketplace but could not find it by searching the marketplace. It'll get there, the system just takes a while to sync up. Patience!

The "deep link" should start working in 12 hours. App become searchable on mp in 24-36 hours.

Yeah and watch out.. do NOT click Edit Details unless you want to get caught in a metadata loop for a week.. just to have support give you "workarounds" that don't work lol <--- speaking from experience

This is very true. Your app will then show a status of "Submission Started" or something to that effect. I don't think it actually hurts a published app but I had this and it generally confused me. You can always go back in and click "Cancel Submission" to leave your app as is though.

I wasn't able to cancel the submission. I made them cancel the certification and turns out I still had to make a metadata update in order to escape it lol. Oh well, I'll know next time.
Marketplace publishing process (comparing with year ago) now become very slow and annoying. And MS still want to expand developers community! I'm afraid if developers should wait two or more weeks to be published (actually, I'm talking more about quick bugfixes etc., not the initial submission), developer's interest to WP7 platform will reduced.

On top of that, the Dashboard is not current, frequently broken and should really have more data for developers to be able to know stats of their apps (other than just download count and crash count).

Definitely. To reply to sensbostons post. What you say is correct. My app got published and a bug occurred immediately that I needed to post an update to. Needless to say I was JUST able to upload my updated xap yesterday and the bug happened two weeks ago. The support is horrible as I was instructed to do things that ultimately led to pushbacks. Do they want their developers to have faith in this Marketplace? I've been wondering that. That dashboard... The buggiest thing of all. Sometimes I refresh and it tells me it doesn't have my tax information at all.

Yeah after entering my tax information about 10 times, I realized they have it. Just that the dashboard's buggyness is something to live with for now.

Yes to echo what others have said, on top of normal app maintenance having to fight with the App Hub's slowness and constant errors doesn't get me excited for app writing.

I have just got a bargain Nokia 900 for £55, so please don't say I shouldn't have got one!
I have only had it a day or so and pleased with it till I started looking for updates. I can't find CIty View & Camera Extras, I looked in w*w.windowsphone.com/en-gb/how-to/search?q=city+lens but does not exist. Are they only available for the 800?

Look in the Nokia Collection on the marketplace app on the phone. Nokia exclusive apps don't show up in windowsphone.com searches

On the phone there's a Marketplace app in the app drawer (swipe left from the home screen) in the marketplace you should see Nokia Collection. That's where all the Nokia apps are.

No problem! While you can install most apps via the windowsphone.com site, OEM apps (Nokia, HTC, Etc) are not visibile there. Probably to avoid confusion.
This ain't good at all and I'm really pissed. All my apps in my purchase history are MISSING. I can only see 10 purchased games and that's it. Can you imagine I've been asked to repurchase WPCentral app again after trying to reinstall after having some log in issues with it? WHY and HOW? :
What the **** is wrong with Microsoft and the Marketplace? Why am I experiencing this? I can't pay for an app twice. Any insight into this?
Maybe you just can't "see" the purchases. I have had no problem re-installing previously installed/purchased apps.

i am in your exact situation (purchase history start at the 24th agoust 2012 but i am on wp since 24 ago 2011!!!!!! and one year of apps installed are gone included all the pay apps i get since now)

i think i know what causes this bug. the purchase history on windowsphone.com in my case only from 22.09.2012 till today. so i miss all apps from june 2011 till 22.09.2012! and that causes the paid apps to be gone, not all paid apps, only the ones downloaded for free which normally cost before and after these free days. i wrote microsoft but nobody has answered yet. they send me a link to chat with them but the link is broken it says "windows live id is some thing bla bla bla..." so i cant access the chat to tell them what is going on. but this is a serious bug. no matter if it is paid app or the purchase history, they cant do this to us.
offcourse in my case those apps are get by free in different sale&promo offers by the devs on the store
but i want them back...

I am also having the same problem! It's only showing the apps that I have purchased/downloaded since October 2012. Except it shows one app that I purchased on 5/27/12 which is the XDA app. Hopefully they get this problem figured out and very soon.

Having similar issues here. Just tried to re-download ilomilo (which I've owned since WP7 launch-day), and it's asking me to purchase it again. wtf?
i dont think they gonna fix this. i think they deleted our data purposely. they want that we pay for the apps, and they dont want that we store all our app and reinstall later to use it. till today the chat link of the microsoft service center is broken, it says something with the windows live id is not right...
for me all my apps are gone from 2 years it seems though they left after I did som cleaning on my account and removed the phone they were first purchased from ms credited me 35 bucks but says they have to escalate it to get the 150 bucks I asked them for.so if you have old phones listed there that your not using do not remove them he also said if you change the live id that it could lose them in the migration
I'm really getting tired of this. MS support saod I should wait but for how long? Why is it that they are not coming out to tell us anything.....in a press release or something to make people aware of this issue??

By the way, did you change something in your Microsoft account? Language or location?
I had the same problem when I changed the language from French to English on my Microsoft account (not on the phone, the one for everything: live, msdn, xbox, credit on the web). When I went back to French, all the purchase history came back.
Last Sunday I contacted Microsoft by Chat on "www.windowsphone.com" (it pretty amazed me to get live support so easily) and they told me this is a known issue and that they are going to fix it. They also told me this is going to take a week to be fixed.
When they fix this, they'll merge the new and the old list of apps.
Polish microsoft wrote to me that this is know problem which touch part of people who changed their WP7 phones to WP8 and doing everything to solve this problem. I didn't change my phone to WP8 but I installed Dynamics 2.0 (7.8) maybe this is the reason of our problems?

From today again I can install part of my old, purchased apps starting from 02.2012. Not all installed in period 02.2012 to today are visible in purchase history, but few of them I can install.
Brothers, I think the issue is partly fixed. I got my WPCentral app back but still can't see apps BEFORE 29th March, 2012. All apps in 2011 and early march 2012 are still missing; which still contains my Liquid Daffodil's apps. Microsoft should please fix all for me. Check yours to see if all is available

Brothers, I think the issue is partly fixed. I got my WPCentral app back but still can't see apps BEFORE 29th March, 2012. All apps in 2011 and early march 2012 are still missing; which still contains my Liquid Daffodil's apps. Microsoft should please fix all for me. Check yours to see if all is available

my apps come back the last night
finally
im going to see if something is missing from my purchase history but at a first look it seems all right (recently reinstalled apps appear purchased on 24 november 2012, my last flash day, so the History is gone... better then nothing!)
ok my purchase history before sept 2012 are gone, but i am able to reinstall the apps purchasede before that date (ie portals 2d and monster up adventures arent visible in the history but i can reinstall them anyway)

The problem has been fixed. You can redownload all your paid apps and list all your old purchase on "windowsphone.com".
I can see all my history, starting from Nov 2011, when I took my Titan.
