Darn flash when video recording - Defy General

I can't turn on the flash when recording a vid. I tried to turn it on before the vid n it wont open if its on....so I went to record a vid and I hit flash on but it says something bout flash adjustment not available in capture mode? Is there a way round this. Just think its strange not to use the nice ass bright flash while recording in the dark. Thanks for reading./ help

Youtube 2.1.6 question

I am using this version of Youtube that came with Mikfoyo. I cant seem to figure out how to share videos. I've tried clicking everywhere. The older version of youtube I was using was a lot easier when it came to sharing videos. Can anyone help me with this.
After you click on the video you want to share you have to click on the button on the top rite that says more, then the option to share through facebook and such shows up.

So click on the video and have it start playing? If i do that the HQ button is on the top right. I tried clicking everywhere else on the screen and all it does is pause what is playing.
Are you trying in portrait mode? With the phone straight up and down or do you flip it over cuz it works for me

Good call. Only works in portrait mode.
Cool. Glad you got it working

Rogers no pics during video.....

I just noticed this now because I wanted to use the feature but my Rogers SGS3 can't take pics during video. The buttons not even there. I thought we were supposed to have that feature. Anybody else have that? Fix?

I thought that while recording video all you had to do was touch the screen to take pics?
That just causes it to refocus on that area.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Are you sure? I don't think you can manually focus during video recording. Taping the screen during recording looks like it is refocusing the camera but that is in fact the animation it makes when it is snapping a still during recording. No sound, no sliding to the side animation like when taking photos. Just that slight focusing effect to let you know you it worked.
Check your gallary.
Not working, tried that. Just refocusing the video. You can see a button on the bottom right that says AF to establish AF again. No pictures in the gallery.

I am on rogers and can take pictures during video.
when making a video all you do is press the little camera icon beside the red record button
I noticed that it says nexus so iam guess your not on stock rogers?
I'm with rogers using a custom rom and that feature is there

is there an option somewhere to turn it on? Neither of our phones have the option.

Here's a screen shot. Hope it works......

That is odd. Sorry I was of no help. Not sure what the issue is and unfortunately I'm not on a stock rom so I cant dig thru the cam/settings to be of any help.
Can someone who is on a stock rom that is able to take stills while recording post a screen grab of their cam app to show what its supposed to look like?

I've seen pictures of what it supposed to look like. Just was hoping maybe there was an option I missed. Very frustrating.....
If you have anti shake turned on then the option to take pictures while video recording is not there. Simply turn off anti shake

Do you know any solutions to this annoying problem? Its impossible to watch full screen flash videos with stock browser. Screen turns off automatically. i tried turning on/off smart stay, no difference whatsoever. I even installed 3 different versions of flash player, cleaned the browser cache ,nothing. Smart Stay works for me when watching on the actual device. Not sure why it doesn't work for you.

No, smart stay works when the room is lit but I like to watch videos in bed which makes it impossible because smart stay doesnt work in dark.

I just want to open browser and be able to watch damn videos. Why do I need to install screen timeout apps and click it everytime I need to wqtch something. How convenient is this?

Yeah , it's annoying.
But I guess Android Jellybean system files dont support adobe flash out of box so maybe tweaking system files for screen time to support flashplayer is needed.

Try Screeble, best App to keep screen on while in use, by using screen orientation / gyroscope/apps

Search for "Screen On" on Google Play. Free app, no ads. Tick the stock Internet browser and enable the service within the app (disable the annoying icon in the notifications bar within the settings). Voila, issue resolved.

Anyone having autoflash problems?

Using the original camera on autoflash and then hitting the video button in a dark room, the light doesn't come on... Am I missing something here?

I know it has to do with the certain parameters/options you pick. Easy method would be just to reset the settings. I ran into this and after troubleshooting, the light turned back on, because even one setting will turn that led off. It's sensitive to what settings are changed.

I've tried resetting the camera and it's the same. .. When you hit the video button on autoflash the light doesn't come on.... If you set it with flash always on then it comes on...

Just tried this and mine doesn't come on either . Comes on when I take a pic though. I guess we have to turn it on when we want it in a video.

This may sound ignorant but, you can use autoflash on video??... What I said was applying to photos but I never thought flash could automatically turn on based on light changes in video I just thought you had to turn it on or off manually.

Recording with flash?

This is my first Android phone and loving it. Thanks to another post I found out how to get a flashlight app. My question is is there a way to use flash while recording videos? Am I missing something or is this not possible on this phone.

Hello. Try looking for the flashlight widget. When you find it, put it where you like, toggle it, then start up the camera. Should be good to go.

Works perfect thanks so much!!! Something so simple yet so complicated. Thanks again
you can record with flash in the camera app though. make sure flash is set to on, then hit record. problem is, for some reason you can't toggle flash while recording video on this phone. very annoying.
