This is my first Android phone and loving it. Thanks to another post I found out how to get a flashlight app. My question is is there a way to use flash while recording videos? Am I missing something or is this not possible on this phone.

Hello. Try looking for the flashlight widget. When you find it, put it where you like, toggle it, then start up the camera. Should be good to go.

Works perfect thanks so much!!! Something so simple yet so complicated. Thanks again
you can record with flash in the camera app though. make sure flash is set to on, then hit record. problem is, for some reason you can't toggle flash while recording video on this phone. very annoying.

One thing I play with all the time is the silly effects in video mode for the stock ics camera.
But is there anyway to use these effects also in camera mode?
Also Why would it only be allowed in video recording mode
i dont know why its not available in still mode, but i freaking love the silly effects. i use them all the time and sit there laughing at myself like a nut.

I can't find a way and yes it seems silly to me also!
YEAH! wth. This is really backwards.
could it be a patent problem? *cough* nintendo DSi *cough*
Wish Google updated to support camera mode too...
Do you guys know any 3rd party app that has the same effects?

You are supposed to be able to do video and record pics by tapping the screen. Does this work with this effect?
I cant take a picture too. Maybe a screenshot will do the trick for now.

Well rotate the screen, lock the auto rotate, enter the camera, turn the phone back to the position you want to hold it..
It should work?
But when i lock it, it automatically returns to portrait !
Hmm I donno then, it seems to work for me?
Would have thought it possible to do an app like that. Would be handy as hell thinking about it
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
An app would be perfect tho... or feauture of the camera..
Would be awesome if some1 developed this app
The funny thing is while watching that YouTube video. The playback does exactly that. Why not be able to record the same way, cant be that hard for someone who actually knows what they are doing.

Some app developers should be around here.... Or else does anybody know one which we/I can contact to make this app?
c'mon any developerr here??
Future Beanstalk builds for jflte will be here. I will not monitor this thread any further.
Awesome! Do you know if the calling issues from 4.2.2 are still an issue in 4.3? Referring to calls ended before other party answers don't actually end. Also, does inline earbud mic work on calls? And is there an equalizer?
Thanks for sharing your hard work!

I haven't had any calling issues at all. But only 2 days doesn't make a good sample size.
Haven't tried inline earbud mic bc I've never used one and don't like it. If it works in CM10.2 then it'll work here too.
Equalizer is avail in DSP Manager.
You don't list HDR pictures as an issue. Was that fixed somewhere that I didnt see?

Is it an issue? I haven't tried. If HDR doesn't work I'll add it as an issue. Camera seems OK and Photosphere works great.

If its based on cm10.2 HDR will result in a blank image.

Is this with Focal or with default camera?
Since Watchon is included I'm assuming you have the IR working? Thanks by the way!

Anyone else having issues with data dropping and taking a while to come back on especially when trying to make a call it takes about 12 seconds before the call is placed or dials out?
If the data is fixed this will be one kiss %$# rom!!!

Focal - HDR comes out really really dark. 3rd party apps will just be blank.
Love this ROM!!
The only issues I've come across so far are:
1. I have my Notification Rows transparency set to 100% but for some reason my notifications will show as 0% transparency as soon as a new notification comes through in the notification drawer although it still shows 100% in the settings. Anyone use those settings and seen this issue?
2. Torch doesn't seem to be working for me.
Man this is sweet! Thanks

There's a lot of action in the CM 10.2 and Beanstalk github right now. Another build is on its way after I've tested it a bit. Right now the biggest issue is DSP Manager crashes when BT tab is activated.

My Samsung Galaxy Note II camera app captures pictures/videos one way but after it saves it auto rotates. This stops me from posting my videos. You can rotate pics later but you can't really rotate videos. Does anyone know how to fix problem?
You may wish to edit your post. The body of your post is in quote code. You might get more constructive responses that way.

Make sure your auto-rotate toggle is properly checked off (adjust it and run a few tests to see if that doesn't help) if still no dice than you might need to get an app that allows you to adjust the orientation of videos but considering your issue is unique (if your rooted and on a custom ROM) then you might need to clean flash again to see if that doesn't help

Personally havent been looking into too much but apparently there is a CM 11 for TMO that is downloadable (in the general tab) but not quite sure about functionality yet and omnirom is out as well for our device but that has bugs (so new) and not reliable enough, IMO, to be a daily driver yet
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
I hadn't seen this in our forums yet, so just a heads up here in case folks hadn't seen this yet. XDA Dev. sshafranko has a mod to enable the front earpiece speaker to work with the rear speaker when playing sound on the device. I tried it and now have maybe double the volume when watching Youtube, playing music, etc. I'm loving it so far!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/development/mod-sm-915t-surround-sound-t2955648
The second post has the downloads for the Tmo Note 4. It works with Viper too!
Cool
BAD ASS NOTE 4
This mod is in the dynamickat rom in the developer forum for those interested
I put this on, but I'm not sure I can tell the difference... I guess I need to have a call on speaker to see.

I wasn't sure where exactly the extra sound was coming from, but I do notice about double the strength and volume of sound on videos, music and everything. Also as the dev. said, the file might have an extra .xml at the end of it, and the medium one for Tmo Note 4 that I got did have that. So you have to make sure to remove the extra .xml in the mixer_paths file
Nice I tried and I have noticed a little difference ... I Installed the "Medium Surround Mod" I don't want to To loud lol
