My cooking skill is too low for building rom based on build 21057 for HTC Trinity. May you (community) help me with this? I want wm 6.1 21057 for my p3600, i'm trying some times to *cook* this, and all times i'm get black screen or non-bootable device. Can anybody make this for me?

My steps i choose:
1. Dump last rom in OSKithcen-> RUU_Trinity_DOPODASIA_WWE_3.00.707.18_6275_1.46.30.11_108_Ship
2. import an rollup
3. change some settings (but i think i don´t know the right settings)
4. cook it
5. and flash (but it stops at 0%)
What is wrong? Can anyone help us? pls

I have not been very active on here for a while, but I just noticed your posts. Here is a completely stock OEM Kitchen with 17944 as it's SYS, and then I've imported 21057 into it also. You can open both working versions using the Open Project button. It's using osKitchen Zero.
I have not added any extra packages or modified anything, it's just straight. I also won't have a lot of time to invest in helping, but this should be a good stepping off point to start from.
I'll try to monitor this thread a little bit, but like I said, I cannot give much time at the moment.
I just flashed 21057 to my Trinity, and I have to admit, it runs pretty darn good. It has around 25MB Free Memory and 34.5MB Free Storage. If you use LZX compression when cooking, storage should increase a bit.
DOWNLOAD
You will find the Kitchen (2 Parts) and a fully working 21057 in case you want to try it first. The Kitchen is a self extracting file, Run Part 1, and the ROM is a Self Extracting and easy to flash file. Just put your phone into BootLoader Mode and double click the download, then follow the instructions.
Trinity runs a lot much better with 6.1 roms. I'll give it a try SuperSport.

ZIP is actually for Zip and Unzip of files.
Midlet is for Java Applets
Those both are part of the Stock ROM, so I left them there.
That ROM I posted was more for proof of concept, and not necessarily one I figure anyone would use full time, although you can. I just wanted to be sure it would flash and run and hopefully be bug free so people could take the Kitchen and work from it. At this point, if anyone likes the basics of the ROM, I've also posted the Kitchen so it can be modified any way the user likes.

I've downloaded the kitchen and i don't understand much of it. I'll see some tutorials including yours and make a final rom for me haha.

Can you send me a download link to the Roll-Up you are trying to import? I will try to create a Video Tutorial showing how to import it.
The Wi-Fi error I am not seeing on my phone. When I turn it on, it immediately asks to hook to my home network. Does it work if you go to Start, Settings, Connections, Wi-Fi, Menu, Turn ON Wi-Fi?
PS: Your language is fine. I understand you very well, much better than some.

I am impressed that you did the WiFi fix. It can be a bit difficult, but you did it without asking how. Good Job!
I'm downloading the Roll-Up you linked to now and will get a video shortly. I'll post a link to it here when it's complete.
EDIT: Ok, I ran into the same problem as you did. The Kitchen imported the Roll-Up just fine, but when I tried to build a ROM, it would only show 0409. What I noticed is that in the OEM packages, there is one called 'OEM_Lang_0409'. When I make a copy of this package, but rename it to 'OEM_Lang_0408', it now shows two languages available to cook. The problem is that the package is still 0409, but I only changed the name. I don't know what would happen if it cooked that way, maybe it would be ok, or maybe there would be english mixed all through the ROM? I'll be giving it a try and report back...

I have not cooked in a while. I want to get back to it, but a lot has been happening in my personal life. For the time being, I've been enjoying my Samsung Focus WP7 with Mango. Cooking takes more brain power and time than I have been able to give it lately. I'll be back.

Hi,
one of the most complaints about cooked roms is that they are avaiable only in WWE, and after a quite long time, in other languages. I don't know how language is stored into WM operating system, but if all word/sentences can be extracted to a text file, i and many like me would be habby to translate it to Italian. I'm sure there's others that can do the same in other languages.
This way we could have our localized WM6 without waiting for official releases how about it?
You should check the Hermes forums, they have localizations for WM6 in several languages. No need to reinvent the wheel.
Is there an easy way for mUn and LVSW to apply hermes localizations languages to trinity WM6 ?

As far as i know its not that hard to do (as in required skill) but it involves a lot of work.
We should probably wait until all bugs are ironed out, there's no use in translating/converting a buggy Rom.

I'm playing around with localization to german, here's the rough steps I did so far:
1) Dump os.nb
2) Copy MUI files from Bepe's german WM6 ROM (Hermes) and rename to *0409*
3) Rebuild
Obviously this only give me a very partial translation, I know registry and initflash would need to be edited as well.
I have a specific problem however: I want to switch msim.dll to msimde.dll (english softkeyboard to german). I copied msimde.dll from the other Rom but when I try to enable it in the registry, the ROM will hang at HTC screen. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I know. don't rename msimde to msim, coz they use different CLISD (it was written inside dll). So when you put renamed msimde.. the system can't use old CLISD with this dll..so you see white screen (coz system doesn't boot without any virtual keyboard)
So you should create new CLISD and edit some reg entries for your de deutch kbd. But you should keep original driver too (msim.dll). But you can deactivate it (isinputmethod=o)

About the Kitchen
New Trinity base rom 3.03.xxx it might fix some driver and memory problems
OS base: VF Kaiser UK 3.08.161.0 (Build 19199)
OEM Apps removed, but you need to clean up the OEMDrivers package
I did not do any changes to the OS, because it should be a clean base Kitchen for all of you
Full XIP editing supported by the Kitchen
New tool to merge all dsm files to one big file and delete all rgu's
I think the OEM package to SYS problem should be solved... but did not try it yet
How to use it
Requires Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package
OEM and SYS can be used as known
The content of ROM\XIP will be used to create a new XIP section for the OS
You don’t have to worry about relocating modules... add/remove whatever you like and the new tools will take care of relocating modules or freeing RAM
.VM and .ROM is updated automatically
Actually this Kitchen runs in auto mode, which means you only need to run BuildNB.bat to create the ROM. You can change that by editing the bat files; made it this way, because I don’t use the options in BuildOS.exe
I consider this a perfect port of the new build to this device
Replaced all XIP SYS packages (I did not just changed coredll.dll to get the new build number)
There were also boot.rgu changes my MS, those have been added too
SYS is completely untouched

the problem is:
while I'm sincronizyng the pda with pc by activesync, it stops to work, and time bomb appear:
in hermes 3d someone posted the solution, a fixed shell32.dll module, I've used it too, but the message puntually appear....
any suggestion about???

Updated the RK to build 19199 ... this is a final AKU1 build, so I really recommend to use this one

I try the new bersione witouth any changes and it boots but there is some problem with some character in setting tab as can you see:
For Commanager and HTC Home plug there isn't the mui files that are in OEMLANG but for strange carachter for left softkey and tab setting?

Just flashed my Diamond with this new ROM, and something seems wrong.
Only 4 city's are available for Denmark, but in the original a lot more city's was available.
Also the weather-update seems to be not working (browsing/networking is working).
Flashing back to .3 DAN

It's not ROM fault. I've accidentally uploaded the wrong version of TouchFlo 3D Manilla. It's for Asia Region. The only file needed to be replaced to fix the problem is 2330fc3c_manila inside the Windows directory. The Manilla needs to be disabled first in the Indstillenger > I dag > Elementar >TouchFlo 3D before replacing the file.
Error in updating the weather is normally caused by an error with your service provider internet/GPRS/3G/Edge/HSDPA/WAP connection or misconfiguration. So, it's not the ROM hopefully. Because mine is just OK here.
I've included the file below and updated the first post with the correct Manilla version. Sorry for the mistake done.

This was my 8. or 9. flash, and this was the first time weather-update was not working.
Surf/mail was working, so maybe a temporarely problem with the weather-server.
No big deal - I just love flashing to something better.

It's what we called options, alternatives or preferences.
You have the options, alternatives or preferences to choose from.
There's not muchbut there's some differences of course. You have to read post #1.
Think of these. Why are there so many computer presentation programs created? You have Impress, PowerPoint etc. Why are there so many OSes developed.? You have Mac OSX, Windows XP, Vista, OS/2, UNIX etc. From those programs and OSes you have the tweaked ones like Lite editions, linux distros etc. Why?
...And one last question. Why are we or you here in the first place?

don't get me wrong; I have been here for quite a while and have had great pleasure of the forum with tons of different ROMs for my Wizard, TyTN, Herald, TyTN II and now the Diamond ... the first 4 devices were slow per default and the custom ROMs created were improving lots of things; lastly my TyTN II where I installed a WM6.1 ROM - great stuff - great forum ... BUT : The changes in the ROM you are offering are almost none; no great improvement in speed - no new WM etc ... So why flash from the original ROM to this one ?
Anyway - you answered - thanks - not for me ;-) - however good work, and nice of you to take the time to make a danish ROM. Doesn't happen often.

I was wondering if theres a very fast and stable Rom who only has WM6.1 and anymore working with my diamond.???

That's exactly what I want, too...a ultra CLEAN and FAST rom with just base system, so that I can install any soft I want.
There are plenty...
Look at the chef's LITE/LIGHT editions. Many of these do not contain Manila.
Chef 'swtos' just released an updated LIGHT ROM with no Manila.

There is NO BEST option....
you need to see and judge for yourself....just try multiple roms untill you find the one who suits your needs....(the best one for you)

I just wanna know if someone was on my situation
I use at the moment AZTORs ROM and i have to said... it rocks! BUt it has to many things that i dont use...
RESPECT THIS ROM ist really good...
It will be really nice to find a rom with just wm6.1 and all BASIC diamond functions, without TouchFlo (Manila) and fast, secure and stable like AZTORs ROM.???
PD: I tried 7 different roms...
I use the UltraLight Morna 1.8 ROM from the great "Carburano":

Hi guys, I've read the entire internet looking for a solution...!
and I'm not able to find a solution... (probably because of my english skills...)
I've just bought an htc diamond on e-bay and it has installed a non-official rom which it has several troubles: Rom version 1.37.412.2 ESN
I've downloaded the last available rom in spanish (?):
(RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE_2.03.405.3_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.51.25.26_1.09.25.23_Ship)
from the htc spanish site but when I try to install it an ERROR[294] : INVALID VENDER ID, comes up. I've read about Upgrading, cooking, flashing and about Hard-SPL, but I'm not sure to understand rightly enough, so here's my question:
What should I do to install the rom downloaded from htc?
I understood that I have the problem because the hard-spl installed on my diamond causes the problem, so I guess I should install a new one...but which one?, and if I'm wrong... where may I find the information to solve my problem? I'm getting nuts of trying so many different things...

It's not that difficult, trust me...
My personal favourite ROM which sounds like it fits your needs is Suiller's Dia Duit ROM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=440683
The beauty of this ROM is that, you simply put all your CABs into a directory on your Internal Storage. On hard reset / flashing, a script will automatically all your CABs for you! There's also a lot of other stuff that can be done (search for tweakPers.mscr in his thread).

for me is fast o.k.

When you look at people's custom roms, usually the ones without TF3D are called classic, lite, ultra lite, no manila etc.
The other thing you can do is go to settings and Today and remove the TF3D check box. TF3D will remain installed but it will no longer be running. You can get TF3D back by rechecking the box in Today settings.
make a list of no wanted and wishes language and wait a little bit.
you will get than your wishes rom.

I tried to upgrade my Asus A696 to a new version but no luck (i'm not that good at this kind of stuff), so my question is if there's a way to upgrade it at least to WM 6.1, or 6.5 using a different ROM version or something like that.
I would appreciate if the following answers would be from people who tried this before.
PS: If there are links (here) where i can find steps to upgrade, i would be grateful if you point them out.

WM6.5 on a non-phone device, that's a big mistake.

It's not a mistake. For example WM6.5 on HP iPAQ hx2000 series runs much faster then WM6.1
I would suggest You to go for WM6.5
that's my opinion, I don't like chome, honeycomb, new big menus, manila and other kind of sh%t.
But if you like it, you can use it. I don't prohibit it
any news about it? I would like to install 6.1 or 6.5 also on my a696
Was amazed to find a ASUS P527 6.5 upgrade on here the other day, being able to upgrade the A696 would be awesome as well .

Thanks for your reply, I downloaded and took a look - but I've never done anything like this before, I don't know where to begin. The fact that anything I make with this would be Polish (?) - I'm out of my league. Maybe I'll see if I can figure out the P527 where they do have a World Wide English version already and see what can be done with that.
The P527 has a bunch of ways to upgrade through USB and microSD even if the main process fails - I have no idea if there is such a method for the A696 though. If a flash fails, that could be it... and that's a little bit daunting for a first timer...

you can make image backup first.
pdocread –v 0x0 0x3600000 nk.nb0
upgrade is simply, by usbloader.
1. Disable usb connections in async
2. plug usb cable to pda
3. reset pda with center dpad button pressed.
4. USB Download mode screen will appear
5. Click "Upload ROM!" in kitchen.
can anybody please create and upload the wwe version? It's just that I don't understand Polish so the PLK is completely useless to me (and I guess others)

I too would like a WWE version of a 6.1 or 6.5 ROM for the Asus 6x6 series devices... I would be willing to do some testing as well. I would also be willing to make a donation to whomever gets a 6.5 ROM working.
