I'am on LeeDrOiD HD 3.0.2 GB an would like to update to LeeDrOiD HD V3.1.2
Do i HAVE to convert to EXT4 when updating to the latest LEEDROID?
And also is it ok to just install it over the top of my current version or is a wipe necessary,If i just install over the top will i lose anything or will it just be same as before i updated?
Sorry for noobish questions but installed LEEDROID a few weeks ago and love it but this will be my first upgrade.
One more question, Is the Sense 3 stuff all working properly now (weather,Lockscreen etc)

I think you have to use the ext 4 full vipe first to get everything running smoothly

If you just flash over the top, all your apps and data will be kept, and all your partitions will become ext4 except for the /data partition, which will stay as ext3.
You only need to wipe first if you want to get ext4 on your /data partition. To be honest, I doubt you'll notice any difference in speed by having ext4 on data, so if you don't want the hassle of setting everything up, just flash over the top. If you decide to do a full wipe later, you can switch to ext4 on /data then.
I think Lee has said in his thread that he just flashes over the top, except when he wipes for testing. So at one point, at least, he still had ext3 on /data as well.

Hey, I've read much about a2sd+...
some say it's only possible if included into the ROM, others say it can be included manually into a ROM. All of that mainly for FroYo but i found some post that it works on gingerbread too.
is there any guide for it? - can someone explain it to me? couldn't find anything.
Oxygen comes with a2sd, since version RC2/RC3(check change log) the dalvik cache is no longer moved to the sd(read ext) but to cache if big enough.
If you really need the space you can replace the new a2sd script yourself from /system/etc/init.d/ with old one. If you do this also removed the dalvik script from the new rom. Should work but not 100% sure, don't forget to nandroid.

don't mind what dalvik means... but I am using the ClockworkMod Recovery and was following the guide ( http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=158809660835039 ) but there is no partition SD-card or similiar.. only format, and that doesn't help anything
Just make a ext partition (SEARCH) and flash oxygen, don't worry about my previous post.

it seems i am not able to partition my SD because my recovery (clockworkmod) isn't able to do so.
but flashing a new recovery doesn't work. can i reflash a new recovery with unrevoked 3? but it also trys to root it a second time, don't know if this is healthy?!
or does someone has unrevoked2 (which only reflashs recovery afaik) ?
Just use gparted or rom manager to partition. Don't ask how, there are plenty of tutorials.

hey everyone
im trying to install miui geingerbread 2.3.5 on my htc desire, the thing is that back in time i had cyanogen mod 2.3.4, and now i decided to give it a shot to try miui, so i went into recoverymod wiped everything and went to install zip chosed the miui zip fie and everything went good until it finished installation and says installation finished, so i go back to reboot system and my phone freezes at the s-off picture ( which says why so serious alpharev ), it kept like that for 45 minutes and i tried to reinstall twice...
can anyone please help me and tell me wut might be the problem
and could it be that i have to install froyo on my htc desire instead of gingerbread or it doesnt matter, wut about kernels...
which rom did u download
miuiandroid.com
or miui.us
or from xda-developers
try fastboot commander (requires java jdk and android sdk). Once you got it boot into fastboot, go into the "misc" tab on fastboot commander, thenwipe everything (apart from recovery, hboot and radio) and then try to install MIUI again.
i downloaded this one

can u tell me if its the right one please
is this an update or full rom, im trying to download 2.3.4stable one from here http://miuiandroid.com/roms/miui-stable-roms/
ill try it
i hope it does work
yup, I used that one before and it worked absolutely fine. It's just good practise to do a full wipe of everything before you install a new ROM so you don't get left over crap from your old ROM.
actually i did wipe everything, including dalvic cache
i will try the 2.3.4 release i guess
i hope it works
try the data++ hboot, worked for me with that.

Did you read requirements for D2EXT X-PART?
You need 2 EXT partitions for that, try flashing A2SD version if you have one EXT partition.

Not true. For the D2E X-Part One EXT is oneough (you can use 2 tho) to make it work.
I have one and it works.

He is not using D2W. (i guess you meant that)
here flash this rom
http://deodex.miuiandroid.com/miuiandroid_Desire-1.8.5.zip
and then the language pack
http://packs.miuiandroid.com/miuiandroid-1.8.5_Desire-EN-PACK1_2.3.4.zip
do a full wipe before hand
I flashed Runnymede AIO 2.5.1 yesterday and everything went well. But now, my wi-fi doesn't work well. It senses the presence of an wi-fi connection but fails to connect , and keep saying "Obtaining IP Address". So, I re-started; after then it shows a frozen boot screen (HTC in green with white background).
Later, I went to Recovery mode and re-flashed once again but all the above said problem existing and again it freezes at boot screen.
Can anybody help me or Did I bricked up my phone?!

Davebugyi, I did that too. No use. Now the plot thickens that it keeps looping in between HTC Booting and Beats audio logo. I am now trying to rollback to my prev. 2.5 version. Will see if there are any improvements.....
EDIT : The rollback version works fine for me. But still wondering how can it be so unstable. Maybe, I am bypassing/skipping something which would have caused this problem.
Any help in switching back to the latest version is highly appreciated ...!!!!
Make sure you are using the correct version and data script:
- stock Hboot, stock version, A2SD+ script (select NO during install; XD2SDX NOT WORKING ON STOCK HBOOT!!)
- cm7r2 Hboot, cm7r2 version, XD2SDX script (select YES during install)
Is your SD-card partition correct? FAT32, then EXT4 with 1,5 GB MAX!
Cheers

Yep I did and I had a EXT4 with 2GB. Having EXT 4 to 2GB, I don't see any problems in AIO V2.5. Also, I gave 'No', so as to use with A2SD+ version.
BTW, what is the diff b/w XD2SDX & A2SD+? Doesn't a Stock HBOOT allow XD2SDX Scripts?

As it seems, no.
I roll-back to AIO V2.5 version and everything worked as it was.
A quick question, Does frequent re-flashing of ROM or SD-Card Partitioning or Root & Un-rooting will in anyways make the phone work slowly?

Most probably the answer would be NO
All,
First of all I want to say that I am a newbie but I am a long time lurker. I have read all about Data 2 sd and A2sd and all the rest of it.
I have an sd card with a FAT32 format and EXT4 format.
I have tried my best to follow the supernova tutorial ( http://supernova.droidzone.in/?cat=6 ) and it is really pissing me off at this stage as it does not work for me.
I have flashed with leedroid rom, the internal memory got better but data2sd did not work and now the rom is crashing. It has to go.
I just want to get this right as I have tried for months and it is coming to the stage where the phone has to go.
I have S-on and I will not be turning it off, fully rooted etc.
I can run cyanogenmod7 but I have a sense rom and so this is my quiff!
Please please please, can someone help me. I have installed lots of files and I want to start fresh. All I want is to install apps...that is all!!!!
Thank,
Alan
Folks,
Just another piece of info. Does busybox make a difference?
Look at my post in thread about best a2sd method <link>
The supernova tutorial is only for supernova Rom. Not leedroid

So to use this you should download nad flash/install via recovery the CyanogenMod 7.1 rom and Gapps package (to have Market installed because it's not included in rom). After that you need to read this thread and have fun with unlimited internal storage.
edit: links from thread about int2sd aren't working so I'll give you mine from dropbox (just wait about 15 mins when I'm uploadnig them).
When you have CM7 and gapps installed you need to flash first INT2SD2-update.zip it will prepare cm7 for getting int2sd and then you should flash CM7-stable-INT2SD2.zip

Thanks a million! It works on Cyanogen med 7 for me and everything runs stable on this rom. This is my 2nd place rom if all else fails!
However, I want a sense rom with data2sd/2ext ....basically lots of internal memory.
I have done a full wipe
Installed leedroid 3.3
started the rom, let it load.....memort 22mb
went into recovery
flashed data2sd
tried to restart but it wont, it is stuck on the htc logo and I had to restore it.
The Leedroid rom works perfectly on its on as does the supernova rom but when i try and install data2sd it does not work or the phone will not boot up.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know

there's an FAQ for that Leedroid rom which i found very useful.
to maximise space you can use data++ version, cm7r2 hboot, and dalvik to sd, all explained on that link
it's not data2sd, and it won't seem like you're internal memory has gone up, but it's plenty of space for apps trust me. i had something close to ~140 apps with 130MB still free on internal before i switched ROMs. that free space would only get used up slowly by app data
if you do it this method, keep apps on 'internal', no need to 'move to SD', it'll keep them to the partition this way.
Hi to all !
Pardon me if the question has already been asked.
I have actually the 0.27 of Elk759's JB Rom installed on my Desire (S-On, no Sd-Ext or whatsoever). I wanted today to install 0.34 every time I get stuck on boot animation. Not even a reboot. Just stay on boot animation. And I had the same problem on versions after 0.27.
I have made all the wipes twice (Data, cache, dalvik) to be sure, but the always stay on boot.
Have I forgotten any requirements ?
Thanks for all !

@Monkeypox95, in the OP of the thread it says, YOU NEED GAPPS TO USE THIS ROM, have you flashed them straight after flashing the rom.zip?
also, if you start to install apps, you'll run out of space quite quickly without sd-ext partition. i recommend s-off, install 4ext recovery, backup sd card and partition using 4ext. enable a2sd using instructions in first post.

I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that I am on stock hboot AND that I have flashed the Gapps straight after having flashed the rom.
Hi all,
I am new here and new to flashing phones with new rom's. I rooted my desire with the package: revolutionary-0.4pre4.zip
that is successfully installed. I can boot in to the recovery mode. After that i made a backup and did a full whipe. I installed the 0.34 rom (without a2sd). And directly after that (no reboot in between) i installed gapps using the link provided in the dev thread.
I have the same result, phone hangs on the CM bootscreen.
I will now try the latest update with a2sd and will let you know if i have a better result.
Thnx in advance!
~Spud
EDIT1: Got no luck with the a2sd version.
as mentioned above i think i should look at the hboot for this problem.
I am currently on hboot 6.93.1002 S-off.. is that bad for this rom?
EDIT2: So,... after doing some more reading i reformatted the SD card. with the largest available size, for swap and data. After a reboot and hanging at the bootscreen for a couple of minutes the phone has booted!
Hopes this might come in handy for some of you folks.
Thank you Elk759 its running very smooth at this moment. Did not really expect this performance from this old phone
