hey everyone
im trying to install miui geingerbread 2.3.5 on my htc desire, the thing is that back in time i had cyanogen mod 2.3.4, and now i decided to give it a shot to try miui, so i went into recoverymod wiped everything and went to install zip chosed the miui zip fie and everything went good until it finished installation and says installation finished, so i go back to reboot system and my phone freezes at the s-off picture ( which says why so serious alpharev ), it kept like that for 45 minutes and i tried to reinstall twice...
can anyone please help me and tell me wut might be the problem
and could it be that i have to install froyo on my htc desire instead of gingerbread or it doesnt matter, wut about kernels...
which rom did u download
miuiandroid.com
or miui.us
or from xda-developers
try fastboot commander (requires java jdk and android sdk). Once you got it boot into fastboot, go into the "misc" tab on fastboot commander, thenwipe everything (apart from recovery, hboot and radio) and then try to install MIUI again.
i downloaded this one
MIUI XJ D2EXT X-PART 1.7.29 - 2.3.5 GS 3P FINAL
http://htcfanboys.com/index.php?app=...s&showfile=255
from this thread

can u tell me if its the right one please
is this an update or full rom, im trying to download 2.3.4stable one from here http://miuiandroid.com/roms/miui-stable-roms/
ill try it
i hope it does work
yup, I used that one before and it worked absolutely fine. It's just good practise to do a full wipe of everything before you install a new ROM so you don't get left over crap from your old ROM.
actually i did wipe everything, including dalvic cache
i will try the 2.3.4 release i guess
i hope it works
try the data++ hboot, worked for me with that.

Did you read requirements for D2EXT X-PART?
You need 2 EXT partitions for that, try flashing A2SD version if you have one EXT partition.

Not true. For the D2E X-Part One EXT is oneough (you can use 2 tho) to make it work.
I have one and it works.

Hi
I have got really big problem with this rom.
After installing step by step like it was prompted
-wipe everything
-making partition with gparted(1. fat32, 2. ext4; both primary)
-installing rom
-starting phone just to load the system for stabilisation
-reboot to install data2sd via clockworkmod 2.5.0.7
-rebooting once again
Every app i try to install causes restart of the phone (white htc logo screen)
what could be the cause and is there any solution?
I've tried two times with full wipeout and format ;/
please help!
s-on, cwm 2.5.0.7, hboot 0.9..
anybody?
there must be a solution to this
According to this thread of supernova rom (which i think you use), this rom does not support data2sd. For data2sd you can use for example starburst:

Thats wrong supernove is starburst GB 2.3. They is a problem with the lastest ROM version when installing fresh, droidzone has removed the ROM now, if you want to still try this ROM, go with version 1.0.2.6 not 1.0.2.8

Link to download page, you have to register to download ROM
I have rooted my Desire and have been running Insertcoin 1.09 and 1.13 for some time. I thought i go to cool sense 3d rom.
I have repartitioned my SD card.
Created an ext3 partition.
flashed de allignment zip to go to ext4.
Wipped alle data
flashed the ROM.
And flashed the stockboot fix (since i am still on stock hboot).
But when i reboot my phone all i see is the green HTC logo and notting happens.
Let it run for 20 minutes. But still notting happens.
Have downloaded the rom several times and tried to install is several times. But still no luck. Can install insertcoin without any problem.
Any idea?
With witch software did you partition your sd card?
Furhtermore, on the offical download side I cannot find a stock hboot fix. Just a cm7 version and an A2SD+ version. The last one is for you, because you are on stock hboot. So I recommend to flash this version without the stock hboot patch.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
I have no problems with the insertcoin roms.
But i wanted to test cool3d sense from coolexe. I'm stuck with that rom.
same problem any solution?

Read my post?
First off all, you have to go in to your recovery, wipe all the data, dalvik, sdext, simply everything except your sd card...
Then you flash the allignment zip (to go to ext4).
flash the ROM.
flash the stockboot fix (since you are on stock hboot).
And then reboot...
And let it wait for minimum 10 min to start the first time...
Did exactly that. Even waited for 20 minutes. Don't think i should wait longer.
Will try once more
Try what happens if you flash a2sd+ version and then not the stock hboot fix.
TouchPaled from dGB with Transparent XDA App
Did you use the stock hboot file after the Rom? You didn't say if you were stock or cm7r2?
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda premium
yes also did the stock boot converter. still no luck.
I tried aurora (looks a lot like cool sense). And that rom works like a charm.
Nu running happely on android 2.3.5 with sense 3.0.
unfortunatly the rom was unstable, for me any way.
phone was really slow. unable to answer incomming call because of it.
looking for other rom
perhaps going for an ICS ROM.
think that will rock
Think i wil try an ICS ROM.
Altough i like sense. Plain vanilla ICS looks really good to me also
are there better batteries for the desire. Mine seems to be EOL
OK found ICS beta ROM. This looks cool.
Woehoe ICS looks great
wish the desire had a front cam. For face unlock.
A well never tought the old desire would be able to run ICS
Hi,
So i have a HTC Desire flashed to CM7r2 Hboot (just moved from stock) and i have tried flashing all possible custom roms from xda (BlissMod007, AceS, Starburst, RevolutioN Aurora, LeeDroid etc etc....) NONE of them work on my desire.. I checked my hboot...checked my root everthing is fine...i even have a 1GB ext partition on my card that the ROM's want...Majority of the ROM's are stuck on the lockscreen others freeze after some time ..
I really want to know whats wrong! I CANT live with the original froyo bc that gives me only 25mb of free internal memory.
SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!!

So you flashed the CM7r2 HBOOT and used every rom but CM7? If those roms aren't designed to fit on the CM7 HBOOT you'll end up with half a rom flashed on there.
Did you wipe everything between flashes (including dalvik cache)?
Last thing, try flashing back to the stock HBOOT partition layout and see how that goes. Might've got a corrupted partition file (you should always an MD5 checker on stuff like this).
yes when i flashed the CM7 hboot i flashed the CM7 ROMs for which i wudnt get past the white screen with htc in green
and when i had the stock hboot the ROMs wud get flashed the first boot would go smooth (wud take some time obviously but thats normal right?)
and yes everytime i flashed i wiped everything including dalvik cache.
and i also dont understand what with the MD5 how is that important... because i completely ignored it before.
From your posts looks like you did not read the tutorials carefully.
EXT partition made correct?
What Recovery do you have?
What version did you download from the ROM?
MD5 Checksum is fine?
i had this problem aswell before so all i did was flash the alpha rev downgrader hboot then on the phone click on restart bootloader then just flash the cm7 hboot..
then just wipe everything and flash the rom ..
also some sense roms take up to 15 mins to boot and some of the sense roms resarts the fone three times so just wait for a maximum of 20 minutes
yes ext partition is correct i had a 2GB ext4 previously but then i read on the forums that not all ROMs were compatible with a ext4 so then changed it to a 1GB ext 3
Clockwork Mod Recovery 2.5.0.7
Whats this MD5 Checksum ?? How do i verify it ?
Also whats the alpha rev downgrader ? do you have to downgrade the hboot ?
Because i moved from CM7 to stock just by reflashing it and on my bootloader i saw the change just fine.
I have 10MB free internal memory WT*

Use Amon ra recovery. CMR didn't work for me either.
Is that true could it be CMR ??
And how do i get amon ra ? i got CMR by default like when i rooted using unrevoked.
If CWM 2.5.0.7 doesnt work at all, it may be because you have a PVT 4 erase size 40,000 device.
Not sure why my guide is one of the only guides that mentions this, but there you go.

Some people have trouble with clockworkmod. Normally they solve it by switching to another recovery so it may be the reason to what you are experiencing now.
To get AmonRa recovery, download AmonRa recovery here. Then plug your phone into the computer and use this utility to flash the recovery.

Actually, I think the test 2.0.1 is better (for SD-ext backup), which you can get here for a limited time only:
http://db.tt/z7hzdp34
No mine is a pvt 3 atleast that's what it says in my bootloader
I think I'll try amon ra
Hey Guys,
So i flashed AmonRa and then flashed a ROM and it works fine so far.
Thanks alot will get back on how its performance is in the long run.
Thanks a lot
okay no as soon as i rebooted it got stuck on the lockscreen and froze....rebooted again same story....rebooted again same story done that about 5 times now
sorry false alarm its like the problem never went...back to the same old situation...
can someone please help me out..
also is there a way to go back to cmr ??
Try changing to a different kernel. It may be a problem with the kernel. What Rom are you using now?
Sent from my HTC Original Desire using Tapatalk
Well I tried RevolutioN - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1300224 which worked for 30 mins before it froze
and then i tried ReflexS - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054435
which worked for about 15 mins and then froze.
which kernel should I flash ? thats the only thing left to flash now
And now i have switched back to CMR as i had a CMR backup of the stock ROM.
So im running the stock ROM now.
Try snq 111005 or gingercakes 0.6d. They are the stablest kernels for sense roms for me. Use the search function to find the kernels.
Sent from my HTC Original Desire using Tapatalk
im sorry but i cant find either of those kernels
i found gingercakes 0.8f and many other versions that were 0.8d/e/etc etc
can u post a link or something like that....also i dont know how to flash a kernel is it just like a rom zip thru clockworkmod ??

Can't help you with finding the kernels I'm afraid. But to flash one just do it through recovery like you would a rom. No need to do all the wipes, just wipe your dalvik cache before you flash it.
I flashed Runnymede AIO 2.5.1 yesterday and everything went well. But now, my wi-fi doesn't work well. It senses the presence of an wi-fi connection but fails to connect , and keep saying "Obtaining IP Address". So, I re-started; after then it shows a frozen boot screen (HTC in green with white background).
Later, I went to Recovery mode and re-flashed once again but all the above said problem existing and again it freezes at boot screen.
Can anybody help me or Did I bricked up my phone?!

Davebugyi, I did that too. No use. Now the plot thickens that it keeps looping in between HTC Booting and Beats audio logo. I am now trying to rollback to my prev. 2.5 version. Will see if there are any improvements.....
EDIT : The rollback version works fine for me. But still wondering how can it be so unstable. Maybe, I am bypassing/skipping something which would have caused this problem.
Any help in switching back to the latest version is highly appreciated ...!!!!
Make sure you are using the correct version and data script:
- stock Hboot, stock version, A2SD+ script (select NO during install; XD2SDX NOT WORKING ON STOCK HBOOT!!)
- cm7r2 Hboot, cm7r2 version, XD2SDX script (select YES during install)
Is your SD-card partition correct? FAT32, then EXT4 with 1,5 GB MAX!
Cheers

Yep I did and I had a EXT4 with 2GB. Having EXT 4 to 2GB, I don't see any problems in AIO V2.5. Also, I gave 'No', so as to use with A2SD+ version.
BTW, what is the diff b/w XD2SDX & A2SD+? Doesn't a Stock HBOOT allow XD2SDX Scripts?

As it seems, no.
I roll-back to AIO V2.5 version and everything worked as it was.
A quick question, Does frequent re-flashing of ROM or SD-Card Partitioning or Root & Un-rooting will in anyways make the phone work slowly?

Most probably the answer would be NO
All,
First of all I want to say that I am a newbie but I am a long time lurker. I have read all about Data 2 sd and A2sd and all the rest of it.
I have an sd card with a FAT32 format and EXT4 format.
I have tried my best to follow the supernova tutorial ( http://supernova.droidzone.in/?cat=6 ) and it is really pissing me off at this stage as it does not work for me.
I have flashed with leedroid rom, the internal memory got better but data2sd did not work and now the rom is crashing. It has to go.
I just want to get this right as I have tried for months and it is coming to the stage where the phone has to go.
I have S-on and I will not be turning it off, fully rooted etc.
I can run cyanogenmod7 but I have a sense rom and so this is my quiff!
Please please please, can someone help me. I have installed lots of files and I want to start fresh. All I want is to install apps...that is all!!!!
Thank,
Alan

So to use this you should download nad flash/install via recovery the CyanogenMod 7.1 rom and Gapps package (to have Market installed because it's not included in rom). After that you need to read this thread and have fun with unlimited internal storage.
edit: links from thread about int2sd aren't working so I'll give you mine from dropbox (just wait about 15 mins when I'm uploadnig them).
When you have CM7 and gapps installed you need to flash first INT2SD2-update.zip it will prepare cm7 for getting int2sd and then you should flash CM7-stable-INT2SD2.zip
here are links:http://www.mediafire.com/?u6s53fzfgk9i48y,c8qpv7p56g19kfi

Thanks a million! It works on Cyanogen med 7 for me and everything runs stable on this rom. This is my 2nd place rom if all else fails!
However, I want a sense rom with data2sd/2ext ....basically lots of internal memory.
I have done a full wipe
Installed leedroid 3.3
started the rom, let it load.....memort 22mb
went into recovery
flashed data2sd
tried to restart but it wont, it is stuck on the htc logo and I had to restore it.
The Leedroid rom works perfectly on its on as does the supernova rom but when i try and install data2sd it does not work or the phone will not boot up.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know

there's an FAQ for that Leedroid rom which i found very useful.
to maximise space you can use data++ version, cm7r2 hboot, and dalvik to sd, all explained on that link
it's not data2sd, and it won't seem like you're internal memory has gone up, but it's plenty of space for apps trust me. i had something close to ~140 apps with 130MB still free on internal before i switched ROMs. that free space would only get used up slowly by app data
if you do it this method, keep apps on 'internal', no need to 'move to SD', it'll keep them to the partition this way.
