UOT Kitchen - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

Hello people. I'm seeing alot of battery mod threads but if you want a little more customisation head over to the UOT kitchen and bake your own framework/system ui.
I did it yesterday and it worked perfectly. You just need clockwork recovery and your away.
Link : http://uot.dakra.lt/
Be sure to head over to this thread and hit thanks. Mendozinas put in alot of work :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990829
I'm just putting this out there for people new to android or that don't know about the kitchen.
Its a great tool!
Enjoy!

Great heads up, i see ti now works with stock ROM's as well, wish they would add the CRT effect though.

this is a good website but unfortunately all that it changes for me is the battery icon and nothing else on status bar or notification area, i am confused whats up with it, its not just this its every theme i try to install does the same

well, the main prob with kitchen and our phones (S series and S2 too) is Touchwizz.
modifications via kitchen only affect framework-res.apk ;touchwizz needs modifications on twframework too.
knowing this, you can still use kitchen for :
-battery icons.
-notification icons
-glowing (at least for sliders bars and a part of the pop-up windows IF they aren't managed by twframework ).
haven't tried mods on status bars yet with my S2 but they were ok with my old galaxy S so it's probably the same.
P.S :
as always with themes, don't forget to wipe cache and dalvik cache after applying it viaCWM
hope it helps

Can someone provide me framework-res.apk and systemui.apk from stock KE7? Thanks.

How to submit it? I selected what I needed, uploaded framework-res.apk and systemui.apk but when I click Submit button nothing happens!
OK, I figured it out. But I can't select 'Transparent Status Bar' only, I don't want any modifications on status bar but just to make it Transparent! Maybe it's not allowed!

Can you choose status bar then not put a tick in the box for icons?
That should work.

Well the Transparent Bar is not working for me. Just for me I just selected only Transparent Bar and nothing else, but it's the same damn black status bar in the end

Try with ADW launcher for the transparent statusbar and disable wallpaper hack

Hey all,
Just having an issue with UOT kitchen ever since I flashed to Lite'ning ROM 1.4 on KF1. Getting SHTF errors every time I try to cook files now, anyone else having this issue?

I created my first theme and it worked, however i lost the screen capture feature, does anyone know why?

Hi mendozinas,
Because i have changed my phone to GS S2(i9100) and would you please tell me this version UOT Kitchen whether support GS S2(i9100) + SpeedMod SGS2 [K1-T31 CWM4 CIFS ROOT] ?
Thanks!

I've cooked my battery icon for xxkg1 2.3.3 but i'm asking if is it possible to use the "SCB with %" (Version C, New charger for example) and hybrid charge animation.
Thanks!

Hi all, hope your well.
Thank you directing us to the kithen. I have tried to use but seem to have an issue. When I select a mod, and click generate preview, it doesnt do it. It tries to generate it but then just times out. Anyone else had/having the same issue? Am I missing something or could it just be my internet?
Everything else works fine on my internet.
Thanks in advance guys!!
EDIT: Sorted. It just started to work.

Hello,
I made a theme for myself but since more people than I expected like or use it I'll share it here.
Introduction
I liked the light blue stock samsung has but I find that they went to far with all the colors everywhere that it looks too busy and cheap. Because of a lack of inspiration I couldn't think of a good name for it.
I'm still trying to edit some images but lack the inspiration or skill to do those. So I'll post an update here if something changes.
Install instructions
All have been tested or reported working on docs jpu/jpx/jpy, darkyy's jpu/jpx, jim_panse jpu/jpx and webstars jpu/jpx roms. These zips are ment to be flashed with CWM I assume all users are familliar with flashing custom zips with CWM. It may work by installing it another way but I haven't tested that and CWM is easy and it works.
Make sure you pick the right version for your rom. Some people have flashed these on other roms. It may work but I haven't tested it.
To be safe always make a back-up or have another working theme on your sd so you can flash that if something goes wrong. Theming is not the most dangerous thing but if 1 image is named incorrectly or your rom is incompatible it may not boot anymore.
The first boot after you flash this can take a long time. And I mean a really long time. This doesn't mean its stuck at boot. After that it will boot at normal speed and future updates should also boot faster.
If there is a problem and it does get stuck at boot the phone will vibrate multiple times during the glowing S logo and eventually will go black. If you have that problem then flash your backup, a working theme or your rom again.
If you have issues after the install try to clear the dalvik cahche from recovery.
Downloads
So far they do not work on default JPO/JPU/JPX/JPY/JS3 roms.
All have been tested or reported working on docs jpu/x/y, darkyy's jpu/x/y, jim_panse jpu/x/y and webstars jpu/x/y roms.

Suggestions/Tips
If you have suggestions to make it better let me know. Can't promise I can do/like it but I will look at it.
Also if someone can think of a good name for this theme, I can't think of any now.
Extra's
The font and icons on homescreen are not included.
You can find the icons here:
http://yankoa.deviantart.com/art/Windows-Phone-7-Icons-166077852
If this link get broken search for phone 7 icons devaintart on google.
And the font called comforta (install it as a normal apk:
http://www.multiupload.com/4LO4EO9MI4
Using files for your own theme
If you are going to make a theme and post it here you are free to use some files from this theme. If it is a small number of images you can take them. If you are using a lot from it then you are still allowed to use it (would be nice to ask) but at least leave some credits and don't deny it (you know who you are ).
CreditsIf I forgot someone let me know.

The first one is battstatt and the second is clockr. Both are in the market.
I haven't tested on jpm roms. People have tried this and other themes on different roms and sometimes it works. You can try of you have a backup and the know how to fix things if it doesn't.

Hi R64, tested the JPO ver. on BUJP8 base. It works but some texts were not right. Like notification it appears #6##d, the clear button in notification appeared ongoing and some other random madness. Aside from that, it's working great.

I made a new one for BUJP8 based on a working theme for that rom. I haven't tested it yet so consider it a beta. If you have a backup/revert you can try it but I can't say if and how it works.

You can put the icons anywhere as long as the gallery/mediascanner can detect them. Then just long press a icon in launcher pro and select change icon.
does this theme include the extended menu? must i install the extended menu first b4 i flash this theme?
On all the roms I've tested it with they have the extended menu.
Hi love your theme. keep up the good work.
I'm using the asop jpo theme on jp8. Works fine. Maybe you can put in the startpost if the jp8 has asop or default lock screen.
Can you tell me why they are much bigger than the one i downloded before the 29th.
Thanx
Thank you so much R64
The colour version is just perfect excellent work!!!
Please keep working in your theme! its one of the best theme for sgs
Cheers mate!

Thanks for the comments.
They are bigger than my older version from before 24-11-10 because I've added some themed apps. So that the musicplayer, gmail, mediascanner and settings use the same theme. With the next update I'll post them seperately.
You dont have to do that for me. Was just wondering.
Maybe it is wise to tell whats in the zip.

[REQUEST]Help Theme My Rom

Is anyone good with transparancy? If so would you mind helping me with my rom? You can pm me, add me on aim, gtalk, or msn all of them are the same screen name [email protected],gmail,live.com I would really appreciate it. The rom is bases of stock 3.70 deodex. Thanks in advance!

Remember that fix I told you about that I was trying to accomplish today? Well I started it and it messed up my entire status bar and notification window. I have the GB battery with froyo icons, and GB notifications. The status bar isn't fully black but it's not transparent you can't see through it at all no matter how bright the wallpaper is. The notification window is all black which I also want to be transparent. It's like I did the complete opposite of turning it transparent and made it like a blackout theme lol which I didn't want to do. I'm going to put the notification bar toggles in there and send you the framework-res.apk in a couple minutes.

alright shouldn't be too hard for me to fix this
Here Is The Framework-res.apk
I also removed all GB from the rom because it was having to many problems to find out where the error is so everything is pretty much stock. Only thing included is 4in1 reboot, 4x5 workspace and appdraw, I was putting the hotspot hack in but I don't think it worked out but I should be able to fix that.
Edit removed old framework
Here is my new framework I haven't found any problems with this one. It has a 4x5 workspace, app draw, 4 in 1 reboot, power widgets in the notifications, and sprint hotspot hack. Next i want to change the dock from stock to GB, then after that work on the status bar.

[Q] does anyone know how to get i transparent title bar for cm7

if any body can helpme out it will be greatly appreciated! thanx!
I am asking the same question in the android themes forum. And I have yet to get an answer there as well. When and if if ans when I find out I will repost here.

Are you guys looking for a whole theme? or just the bar
You can do that in uot kitchen

You can do that in uot kitchen..
if you could send me your:
- SystemUI.apk
- framework-res.apk
Ill edit just your status bar, and the rest of your staus bar such as notifications, and set a transparency on them. 0-100% you could choose. I liked %40. Its better this way because then you can keep your current theme or watever you have going for you + the transparent title bar. If your using stock Androidan. I have a test you could try. Just reboot in recovery wipe cache and davlik cache, and flash this. Boot up select theme in Theme Chooser. Should be Called Transparent. Restart phone and hope changes take effect.

-- Side Note- Ive had several themes and i dont recall my status bar being transparent but the notifcation bar is.. with that said, i might have wasted my time and yours, but hey its a quick test, and will take only 20 seconds

In the UOT Kitchen under that statusbar mod you want to select Dr Droid for the top bar..
That one will give you a semi transparent top statusbar..its the closest thing I have found to what you want.

It will overwrite the blue keys. It only takes a few seconds to flash the blue soft keys mod right after flashing the battery mod zip. ;-)
I'll make one in the next day or so, just let me know what battery style you like best. The bluesoftkey mod by winner will overwrite the battery mod.
It would be nice to have the battery beside with the reflections keys... seems like one overwrites the other and I can't get both working at the same time... Nice work, though!

freshly baked metamorph theme in op! It will only mod the softkeys.
I made some additional modifications to a couple of the status bar icons (alarm and battery icons) and the power toggles in the status bar. If anyone would like them, let me know and I'll post a flashable zip.
Please note that when I originally posted this, I was in a hurry and I omitted giving credit where it is due -- something I don't make a habit of and I certainly don't condone. I suck at creating images and none of these images are mine. Some of those images are akellar's, some were taken from a battery mod collection posted by mrvirginia, the reflections soft key images are from hxdrummerxc, and some of icons are from the internet or themes that go back to the OG Droid. All I did was put the images into SystemUI in a way that I find pleasing.

All I did was put the images into SystemUI in a way that I find pleasing.

Here's the flashable zip file. Note that flashing this zip will modify your soft keys, pulldown notification toggles, and the alarm and battery icons on the status bar as shown in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21254342&postcount=12 (additional toggle icons, not shown, are also modified).
Usual warning: Please make a backup first!

[Q] Can you change the notification Bar Clock Colour?

Is there a way to easily change the notification bar clock colour?
I have used the UOT kitchen but this isn't one of the features that you can change.
Cheers Rob
If your phone is rooted and your rom is compatible you can use RCTeam Tweaks!

pretty sure it's one of the features you can change...made mine blue
Status bar --> check 'use this mod'
scroll down a bit, then check 'topbar text' --> change your colour
this question would have been more appropriate in the actual UOT thread, but never mind...
Sorry but it was never meant as just a UOT problem but more of a "is there ANY way of doing it?"
By the way I already tried this and everything else turned a different colour except the clock which stayed white.
I also used the Cyanogenmod theme picker which had the same result.

so when using the kitchen, in the preview pane, does it show your new clock colour as well as all your other customisations? but after flashing only the clock colour does not apply?
hmm then that is strange
i've not use the cyanogen theme picker, but have used the kitchen to change the clock colour for cyanogen on an htc wildfire.
perhaps try uploading your framework.res and systemUI files manually rather than using the kitchen list.
or if you're already doing that and if it still doesnt work, cos it's definitely possible using UOT, ask in that thread providing your UOT file number, the dev is usually very helpful.
