dude,
still the same.....

Is your phone plugged in to USB. Try connecting it to a USB or charger while trying to turn it on. I can't remember exactly but once I read someones phone would only turn on if connected to USB. It might offer some hope

Defy is dead !! SOS !!
Dudes ....
finally got it.....
1st thank u all for the help,
i`ll share the sollution.

After night of charging with other phone i manage to flash , with no bootload, just connected to usb flashed the 'Fixed4.5.1_085_ORANGE_GB_BLUR.sbf' and then the
'3.4.2_177-Fixed.NORDIC_DEBLUR'

[HELP NEEDED] Dead Defy...

Ran into a wall while trying out the new froyo ROMs...
Stock: 2.51 SEA version (i'm in Malaysia)
- Successfully restored VanillaFroyo. Camera flash cant be fixed.
- Wanted to try Higgsy's RC2. RSD'd China 2.2, process finished, but phone didnt reboot. No 'M', just a black screen with the white LED lit when US?B connected.
- RSD can see the phone but nothing on phone screen. Power+up vol and Power+down vol doesnt work.
- Tried mmty, USB not detected, activesync off. No joy there...
Any ideas before i send it back to the shop?
you may try flash with this sbf.. sorry i cant post link..

as long as in RSD lite 4.9 and your phone connected with one single press on power button, i think u could revive your phone.
The same problem has been addressed at least 8times with hundreds of users. But i will reiterate. "Your battery is dead", so please use the McGyver trick to give it a jump and then flash with RSD only if does not boot again.
Warning: Always make sure your battery is close to 100% while flashing roms and do not leave phone in bootloader or recovery for a long time.
ok thanks will try the suggestions from the other threads..

This works for me. Thank you so much!
OK none of the solutions worked.. didnt go thru the macgver way, decided to return the phone.. and got a new replacement no questions asked!! Woohoooo!! Lucky me...

help! please read bricked and its a new phone!!! want a beer?

ok guys so i just picked up a brand new defy. got it home tried to run z4root and it just would not work. so i decided to just use super one click. did that no problem.
i then went ahead and used the 2nd init. still no issues. then when i was ready to flash i got stuck. cant load into bootloader or anything. im afraid the battery may be close to dead but im unsure.
currently all i can do is see the m logo. thats it. cant seem to get into recovery.
i also tried rsdlite but i cant sem to find the right files cause they all have the wrong extensions.
please help. i have no problem with buying someone a beer!!!
1. Boot the phone into stock recovery by holding power and volume down at the same time, press both volume buttons when it boots and go to factory reset/cache, run that.
2. Reboot into bootloader, by pressing power and volume up, plug into your PC.
3. Download the latest version of RSD Lite, and download a 2.2.1 SBF of your choice. You'll need to unzip the sbf file from the .gz using a .zip program, I use WinRAR.
4. Open RSD Lite, choose the sbf file, make sure the phone is connected in BOOTLOADER mode (step 2)
5. Run RSD Lite, wait until is says "PASS" In the dialogue box.
6. Enjoy!
ok so i got it back to the bootloader that you mention. however its flashing battery low cannot flash. or something like that. now what...
1st of all you if the blue led does not lit then you should try to go to stock recovery (start your phone using vol down + power, then press the lower right corner of the screen when the android appears with an exclamation mark - on Eclair- / press both Vol Up+ Vol Down -on Froyo -). Then you can start your phone into bootloader and flash the SBF again.
PS: older 2nd init versions get stuck on boot if the USB debugging is ON and the battery must be taken out to restart your phone.
EDIT: wow...how many replays have you received while I was typing mine Good luck and keep us posted!
If it says battery low, cannot flash, simply charge the battery for a bit, and then retry
how can i charge the battery? i have no lights blue or white...
I'm not 100% positive about this, but if the phone is off, and not bootable, I think plugging it in still charges it. Anyone know?
ok i just went to radioshack and bought a stand alone universal battery charger. im guessing if i give to 30-45 min that should be enough to try this process. any other tips/tricks in the meantime? im wondering where i went wrong. also what is the best file (link if possible) to use? lastly what will it take to get back to usa tmobile rom and i guess start over?
Since you are in the US use this sbf http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umt...1028.0R_JORDANTMO_P022_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf.gz with RSD lite. Use this version of RSD lite 5.3.1 and Motorola drivers http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=609901&d=1306603535.
ALWAYS go into recovery and wipe first before entering bootloader and flashing sbf
The sbf I linked above is the stock eclair 3.6.360 for the US

The sbf you have used is an android eclair 2.1 and not a froyo 2.2.
Have a look in the sticky thread by walter79 in the dev forum as it has a list of all the sbf.
You just need an android froyo 2.2 sbf.

the only thing that i get is the white led!!
tried to do everythings..but it doesn't work
do you remember the version which was active on your friends phone before you flashed. ??
Try to reflash that sbf again.
i cant reflash it because my phone is dead!!!
So your phone does nothing?
Did you remove the battery, hold vol up and re insert the battery while maintaing vol up?
If nothing happens maintain vol up and hold power for 5 secs..... Anything happen?
If you can't get to bootloader you have SERIOUS problems or YOUR BATTERY IS DEAD
either use an external charger or use the Mcgyver method.
ALWAYS wipe before flashing an sbf. vol down+power gets you to stock recovery so you can wipe.
first and foremost, can RSD lite detect your phone? If yes, your phone is still alive, just in coma, not dead. download a full sbf, and not some fixed sbf and flash it. it should work.
if not, you'll have to give us more information on what you have done, what are you seeing, instead of just saying it's dead. that's not gonna help us help you. it will just mean that the phone will remain as it is.
the phone is dead...rds doesnt recognize my phone!!i flashed the firmware that i posted before..after that i saw white led in the phone...and rds still could detect my phone but it was late and i thinked: i'll put oldest firmware tomorrow im tired...so the day after i went to get the phone...and it was dead!!

[Q] Damaged my Xperia Play ...Please help me out...!!

I had recently flashed my phone with a custom rom (I do that all the time, when a new rom comes up, for testing) But because battery drain issues with custom roms, i decided to go back to the stock firmware, so i flashed my rom with the ver 4.0.1.A.0.283_(1247-6212). When i connected my phone to my wifi network it showed, a new update that was available i.e 4.0.1.A.0.42 ver. so i downloaded it via wifi and when it started installing the update, my phone suddenly switched off. And nw it wont turn on...I tried flashing it again, the flashing process successfully completes but still the phone wont switch on. When i press the power button it just vibrates for short time and a green light (flashing light) flashes on and off. The fone wont enter into fastboot mode. when i plug it to the usb the green light glow even if i dont press the back button.... what do i do...
any help would be appreciated ...thank you in advance.
Did you unlock the bootloader? You cannot update OTA with it.

yes the bootloader is unlocked..
i wonder if your phone can be resurrected by Alejandrissimo
That's what happens when you don't follow instructions.. There are many, many warnings all over these forums about OTA causing problems with an unlocked bootloader.

Did u try to fix the problem with Flashtool (flashing a stock rom on ur phone)
Yeah...I'ld be really carefull the next time....Can be repaired or i'll have to find a SE service center.. ??
Yeah ....flashing completes ... but it doesn't start, Does the same thing ....when i press the power button it just vibrates...
Try to flash a new kernel on it with a guided Tutoril...u will find one here or try to boot the RecoveryPLAY.img with fastboot too
I cant enter the fastboot mode....if i press the search button and plug the usb nothing happens for sometime and the fone enters the flash mode. so i guess that i'll have to recover the boot ...i guess its corrupted...
now i have the ultimate solution...relock the bootloader again, then flash a stock rom on it...it will work fine again!!

It is just stuck in the bootloader screen
does the battery charge when turned off?

try to boot into boatloader modus ,
If it says battery low cannot program you know what's wrong
If your battery don't charge use McGiver trick ,other battery or else
If it don't boot after flash with rsd
Factory reset from stock recovery would solve your problem

you have flashed the worst sbf you could have. i am afraid to say that the phone is now in dire straights.
the battery fixes dont work for that bootloader on normal defy red lense phones. the only chance you may have is to read through my thread but ultimately it may not help so please do your own research before you come knocking down my door.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1836958&page=2
i havent fixed the issue but i am able to use the phone but only if the battery is pre charged. no matter what i did or what battery fix i flashed i can not get the phone to either tell me how much charge is left or get it to charge the battery and sometimes i need he mcgyver trick to even get the phone boot.
basically i still havent properly tested it but i have an external battery pack on its way and will be able to confirm one way or the other tomorrow. if it goes as i hope then i will be able to charge the battery sing an external pack put the battery in the phone and use it until it runs dry. then i can charge the battery again using the battery pack and so on and so forth.
i am using white rabbit rom which has a cm7.2 base and is really very good. it also has four battery fixes you can download and there are a few more found dotted here there and everywhere on xda. you will have to search for them. all told i tried 6 and none have fixed the issue however you may have better luck than i did.
i have been told it is fixable but i didnt find one and have given up now. if the battery pack doesnt work then i am just gonna throw it in the drawer and buy another phone.

Now flash that SBF again, see if you can boot into recovery and wipe data/factory reset.

Go into bootloader by pressing Power button and Vol+ button
Connect your phone to your PC via USB cable
Make sure everything is OK
Locate downloaded SBF. In popup dialog press Uncompress and start flashing
If you get " Please manually power up this phone " in RSD Lite pull battery out > put your battery back > reboot into stock recovery by holding Power button and Vol- button > Choose Wipe data/cache > Choose Reboot system now

actually i did understand totally what you said and if you had read the thread i linked to you would have found the answer in there but no big deal because neo.ank has spelled it out for. do that and the phone will boot again.
the problem comes after you have got the phone flashed and running again and i guess in that respect you didnt understand what i wrote.
if when you get the sbf up and running can you please post back on this thread and let us know if the battery charges and is registered as being used... ie the percentage drops down after 2 hours of use from say 100 to 90 or whatever.
i am very keen to hear if your battery will work when you have the sbf flashed and running though so please do post back and confirm one way or the other. cheers and good luck.
THANKS!!!!
