Stock video player - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can someone upload the stock video player for the epic? I've tried all the ones in the market and I like the stock player more. I'm using the urban legend rom and it doesn't come with it. I tried copying the videoplayer.apk from other roms and installing it but it won't install...alittle help guys?

Here is the EC05 Version

It won't just install, you need to use root explorer to put in /system/app/

No problem at all. Glad to help.

Can the EC05 version replace the EE03 one? I only ask because the EE03 video player is really slow at times and for some reason can't stream shows from the TV Shows Stream app.

Ok, let me see if I can help here. It sounds like you know how to move the apk to system/apps. You click r/w to make it r/o and paste it or to move it then back out of Root Explorer and reboot the phone. Once the phone turns back on, it should be in your app drawer

[Q] hbo go

How do I get hbo go load onto EG22? it dosnt show up in the market. Anyone have a zip to flash?
You can look for the .apk on google, download, and install it

I tried that method on ef02 and couldn't get it to play. I think since we officially don't have gingerbread it won't work because of the way it checks the device our something like that.

I had no problems with EF02 and confirm it works with EG22. I have attached the copy I use.

Can't thank from the app . Here's something for the future, if a flashable zip has some things you do want, and some things you don't want, just delete the stuff you don't want from it, then flash it like normal.

I couldn't remember which was which but I think this is all of them. If there's one in particular you're looking for let me know and I'll see if I can track it down.

I forgot to mention, you'll need to push these to the system/app folder, set permissions and reboot before you can use them.

Yep. I don't remember how to do it in Root Explorer but you may need to fix permissions (I use File Manager it makes it a lot easier). Once you reboot they should be there.
Good luck!
Well I just tried and I guess I didnt do something right still not there I moved it from downloads then pasted it into system/app and restarted I never done any moving like this in my phone so its all new.

K. First change the one apk file so that copy copy doesn't show in it. Then long press on them, select permissions and just select every check box on the popup.
Then regular tap on the apk and attempt to install. You may get a message saying the app didn't install, ignore it.
Now reboot your phone. Hopefully that will fix it. If not there might be compatibility issues with the ROM itself.
It must be a rom thing still not showing up. Mmmmmm dam blazer rom lol

Are you preparing for the Avengers Movie promotion?
Anyway, since you are rooted (assuming so, because you defrosted with TB), I personally would go and just delete it, then reflash the ROM that you are using. Or you could just extract the apk from a stock rom and then put it in its place in the /system/app directory.
Yes exactly! Getting ready to download Avengers!
Thanks for the info..but dumb/noob question..how do i extract the apk from the stock rom?

Use a zip file manager and navigate to it... I use 7zip.
Or.. forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895997&page=2
Half way down that Page.... Doc Holiday posted the apk.
I got the same problem like you.I use an app called app quarantine and was able to defrost my previously frozen app by titanium.
Give it a try.
Sorry for my bad english
