Is it possible to do the multiboot on our ARC??? For example, we use our favorite ROM as our main ROM, and then we can boot another ROM from SDCard (in testing purpose) so that we can switch between ROMs easily.
It is possible to do the multiboot on SE X8 and X10mini but I don't know why there isn't any threat about this on ARC Forum.
Here is the link for x8: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151293
Why is a small phone like X8 and x10 can, but not our ARC?
I really wish it is possible..
I think the way of managing partitions it's not good to enable multi boot...
If the roms work on the same kernel then you can backup/restore with cwm. cm7 has a different kernel from miui, or stock, due to various module differences.

nice to see that to,but what is the point of having many rom inside devices..

That's because, all ROMs have used the same kernel (stock kernel).
Now, that there are also custom kernels, it didn't even make sense anymore.

Could you please tell me why?
To show your friends, I can boot in this ROM, then I reboot and hey it's another?

You can try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437840
On the arc it's CWM, if your bootloader is unlocked use fastboot to flash doomlords latest kernel, it's pre-rooted and comes with cwm. If your bootloader isn't unlocked then check the development section on how to, plus the rest...

Thanks for the help guys! I finally got it done, but man am i glad i had a good backup because the miui rom is not cool at all! I did the smooth ion mod and i really like it. i dont see why anyone would prefer the miui rom over the stock xperia
The Stock Rom with some mods is really cool
Are there any Sony Xperia SL roms? Because all the ROMS available on XDA are for the Xperia S. Would Xperia S ROMS work on the Xperia SL? If so which problems would i face?
i have one, from my SL buy in Philippin, but it's 6.1.A.2.45.
Another newest firmware is 6.1.A.2.50 link below

I believe an SL is the same just the processor is turned up to 1.7 so S roms should work as far as I've read. (no guarantee tho)
Sent from my Jellybean Xperia S
I just recently flashed my SL with a FXP CM10 rom, by following all the steps for S, and so far I have no problems. Except I made a big mistake by not backing up my rom first (silly me). If you want to flash any Xperia S roms, I suggest you backup the stock rom first and also the build.prop. Cause once you flash to S roms, the device will be recognized as Xperia S and having a backed up build.prop would come in handy as reference. Another downside is that the CPU will be underclocked to 1.5GHz, but can be easily changed to 1.674MHz through an app or if your rom can change the CPU settings.
Just to warn you, there aren't a lot of options out there if you want to go back to stock since most are for Xperia S.
Nova kernel will clock it back to 1.7 and you can edit the build.prop for device id

Questions about installing
Hi everybody,
I am planning to replace the stock rom on my sister's xperia sl with a Cm10 rom.
Before I would do something, I would like to ask some questions.
How can I make a backup of the current kernel? I(Just in case I would like to go back to stock rom)
Is it true if I flash the boot.img file with the fastboot, I will get another kernel installed together with clockworkmod recovery?
If I don't make a backup of the current kernel, just do a backup with cwm, is it possible to simply restore my cwm backup in the future if necessary?
Can I download a stock kernel from anywhere If making a backup of it is not possible?
I have just a little experience with cwm, I did a few months ago a custom rom installation on zte blade, but there everything was easy, because I could install it with the rom manager application.
I would be very grateful if you could send me a link in email or private message to the latest cm and gapps build for xperia s.
I am visually impaired, so I use a screenreader software to browse webpages. With this program, navigating through the cm page is difficult for me, because there aren't exact headings, and tables which I could use to understand the structure of the items on that website. I met the same situation at another page, where I donwloaded the wrong file because of the lack of accessible structure. At that time I didn't have problem, but I would like to prevent dowloading an incompatible rom for my xperia.
Where do I have to put the build.prop file linked here in this topic? Do I have to place it in the zip file of the rom?
Thank you for your help in advance.
Sorry for my beginner questions and not perfect English.
Cheers,
Istvan
