So I used aospCM7-VM-20110516 and tried different swap/FS sizes.
The reason I did this is because I received a lot of hear-say about swap/fs sizes. I like numbers to do the talking; I'm a Computer Engineer in training so I love proof by numbers.
My hypothesis was swap size did matter, greater than 5% difference.
All Quadrant runs were in airplane mode on 768/768MHz cpu speed.
A good amount of the difference in averages represent less than a 1% difference, which is within the margin of error.

Story of the numbers: swap doesn't matter!
Of course that's what everyone said, but I just hate to be told something be given no proof.
Experiments conclude that swap size's effect on benchmarking is negligible.
Your axis labels are swapped.

So I love the community for this phone, and was thinking about ways I could help (I suck at programming ). Then I heard the "E.T." name being thrown around (which I love). As an artist, I figured this would be a good place to do some work.
I'm currently hand re-drawing the famous scene where the bike flies over the moon, at high resolution, and if possible I'll animate it for a boot screen. If I can't get that working well, I'll just have to have it a static boot.

Edit: Got the rough out done. Not entirely sure I like how it looks right now:
Ok, the big one is done. You can use this as a background/etc. Now I'll mess with it to get it to look decent at 480x800, and hopefully add in some swoosh.

Edit: Static screen done:
In case anyone is curious, this is voltage/battery% on our phones.
Originally created to see if there is a difference between freshly flashed phones (under 48 hours, black dots) and "settled" phones (over 48 hours, black dots).
This data can be easily acquired using minimalistic text(which is awesome for many reasons) or Battery Monitor Widget by 3c. Im sure there are others if anyone wants to contribute data.
This is with stock 1800mah battery.

Thanks! I just happened to search for this today and happened upon your thread. This was exactly what I needed to know.
Notice in the screen capture below the battery indicator has barely decreased but the usage screen is showing that the current level is 88% :silly: Why? Is there a problem with the battery calibration? How can I rectify this.

Ok thats motivating.. thanks
White on amoled uses so much more power that a lcd display does, why does Samsung or the market apps not help to reduce this waste, give use an option to make white gray.
Below is a comparison between amoled and lcd power consumption, compared, see how much more power white does than on lcd, the photo is a few years old, so the difference may not be not quite as bad now.
Also why do some people make a joke when this subject comes up, when almost everybody places battery runtime as the number 1 problem to be tackled by manufactures.
John.

Has anyone noticed the excessive amount of padding on this phone?
I've already shrunk the font size down to the smallest, but it seems the vertical padding is all still locked to the regular (or even large) font size, leaving a LOT of white space.
It also doesn't really get me any additional screen real-estate, as the font size shrinks but the apparent row-height doesn't at all.
Are there any apps or tweaks we can implement to adjust this?
Images attached as examples.

Have you tried simply changing the screen dpi in developer settings? I e got mine set to 512.
