Just pushing the THANKS button would do it
Why on earth are you re-posting tytung's rom?
All you have done is take another persons work and posted it as your own with a guide that already exists in the original roms thread..

from

Do you honestly think in your head that its ok to do this? Not only would teh forum be a complete mess if users started re-posting pointlessly but its shows complete disrespect to the devs here.

Well, I followed the method here:
http://theunlockr.com/2011/08/02/ho...android-phone-using-the-revolutionary-method/
To get S-OFF, flash a custom recovery (Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4), and got root.
Now, when I go into the CWM (it seems to work):

And then select anything (e.g. backup and restore), it just displays the background:
And doesnt do anything. Pressing the power button simply brings it back to the previous screen (shown above).
Funny thing is, I did manage to install the root zip through CWM earlier, then used Titanium backup, rebooted, and now this happens What's going on. Should I try flashing recovery again?

Seriously though, click on an option using the trackball, not the power button.
It actually took me five minutes when I first used it to figure it out as well.

The OP implied his personal phone has no trackball. The Wildfire he's trying to root is his brother's device.

Yeah, sorry to bump this old thread, but Im currently having the exact same issue on my HTC Wildfire. The power button just gives the same background as seen in OP.
The trackball doesn't seem to react on presses, so I have currently no way of flashing a new rom to it. Anyone can help me?? :/

This a short list of frequently asked questions about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8" (SM-T310) and the answers often given as a response. It should serve as a starting point for gathering knowledge and finding solutions to many common problems. Please only post in this thread with feedback on how to improve this document. Do not post "Thank you" type responses.
Do not use this thread as a general helping thread.
Q1: How do I root my SM-T310?
First you're gonna need a custom recovery installed.
Download the following files to your computer: Odin, TWRP, Root
Extract Odin into a new folder and then TWRP in Odon's folder. After that's done start the Odin tool and put your device into download mode. To do this, power it off and hold the Home + Volume Down + Power buttons until you see the warning screen.
Once that's done, connect your device to your computer and wait till Odin recognizes it. If it doesn't usually an installation of Samsung Kies would fix it.
After the device is recognized sucessfully click on the PDA button in Odin and navigate to the TWRP file location and load it.
Wait for the PASS message and reboot your device. (Without disconnecting it)
Once done, boot into TWRP and hold your device in portrait mode, tap Reboot on the bottom right of the screen and then select System on the next menu.
Once you do this you will be asked to install root. If that doesn't work for your, copy the Root zip file to your SD Card, boot into TWRP and flash it as a normal zip.

Q2: How can I enter recovery?
To enter recovery, power off your device and hold Power + Volume Up buttons untill you see the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 splash screen and let off the Power button untill it boots you into recovery.

Q3: Which is the best ROM/Kernel?
Honestly, there is no "best". It's all based on personal choice. For example; I may like heavily customizing my ROMs whereas you may like it to look at basic as possible. The best thing you can do is to just test out different ROMs/kernels/modems and see which you prefer.
Also, please don't ask which is the best because your post will be deleted as it's against forum rules.

Q4: Am I required to backup my data before flashing anything?
No you're not, but it is definitely a good idea, especially when flashing a ROM with an updated base, because if you don't do a backup and then something goes wrong, it means that you'll lose all your apps, data etc.

Q5: Does this device have a good battery life?
We all have different apps installed, use our phones for different amounts of time, have different ROMs and kernels installed etc. so we will all experience different results regarding battery life.

Q6: I'm not sure whether to get the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8"/what other tablets compare to the Tab 3 8"?
The only person who can make you want the device is you. If you're not sure whether to get this tablet, go to your local devices shop which has stock and have a test run of it for yourself. If you're not sure what device to get and want to compare between your choices, please use the following thread - Device Suggestion Thread

Sorry for bumping, but I hope somebody can guide me to a conclusion. Should I make make this twrp a default boot option or should I always enter it from a PC.
My wish is to have this as a default part of booting

The only thing that must be run from a PC is the tool in the OP.
The tool then installs the recovery on your phone.
A recovery is NOT part of the boot or of the ROM you are using.
Once installed, if you want to directly access your recovery, either :
_ Power off your device.
_ Press and hold volume down, then press Power on until the Recovery screen comes up.
Or
_ From the ROM's Settings, in the System menu, go into the the Developers options.
_ Enable Advanced Reboot option.
Then, you can press the power button until the reboot menu appears and choose to directly reboot to Recovery.

It's not my phone I tride to fix this but I'm not successful.
Sorry for my bad English.
if you do not know what went wrong we can probably not help.
She said that she put phone to charge but in the morning it didn't lite it up. I don't belive her because I now if you you disconect telefon from the cable when you upload rom you get this.
Simplest answer is to try "wipe data/factory reset"
In the screen in the picture select "wipe data/factory reset" by using volume rocker, then press power button.
If that works, all data on the phone will be gone!
When I try to do wipe dataa/ factory reset is always the same ˝fail˝ like in the picture.
The next thing I would try is to load an official update.app for this phone on an sd card (look for it somewhere in this forum) , then run the option "apply update from sd card"
But I'm no guru, please do some resrearch on what to do!
Firstly, is this a P6 or a Mate? I realise you posted in the Mate forum but you said P6 in your original post. The ROMs etc for the two are different so please clarify which one it is.
As suggested above use the volume down key to highlight "wipe data/factory reset" then press the power button.
Next download an official update and put it on your sd in the dload folder (if there is no dload folder create one in the root of your sd and then place the update file there). Hold down the power button till the phone goes off and then release and hold down both volume up and volume down until the phone boots into recovery. It should automatically start installing the update in the dload folder.
Hope this helps.
It wont start automatically.
It want start automatically and when I start the update.zip it work briefly and than fail again like in first picture.

You still haven't told me if it is a P6 or a Mate! Which is it?
You may be trying to flash the wrong update file.
Also one other thing. If it is a Mate that was updated to kit kat then only a kit kat update will work so you will have to look for the B331 update file and place it in the dload directory.
Sent from my MT1-U06 using Tapatalk 2
Its P6 and I put this update (Ascend P6 firmware(P6-U06,Android 4.2,Emtion UI,V100R001C00B111,General Version).
I try also this one B512.
You're in the wrong forum friend. You should be in the P6 Android Development Forum. You may have better luck if your thread is posted in the P6 forum. Those of us in here are more familiar with the Mate.
You will find people who are more familiar with your device and the issues facing the P6 specifically in that forum.
Sent from my MT1-U06 using Tapatalk 2
BTW to use the method I described you have to download the update and unzip it and copy the "update.app" file to the dload directory, not the entire zip file. Sorry I left out this small detail before ... my bad. When you do this, the update should install automatically once you boot into recovery.
I do all of that but stil nothing. pc wont recognite my phone. maybe the matherboad is dead.
I put this problem in P6 forum but non can help me.
Stenky, I just read your thread on the p6 forum. They are not helping and that is different from "can not help"
I'm sorry to say again but:
If you do not show what you have done and what happened when you tried it, it is IMPOSSIBLE to help unless we write out every whole process of what MAY work for your phone.
There are a lot of people here willing to help but YOU will need to do the work and research, helpers will only give you directions.
Hello,
First of all thanks to read my thread!
I was following this thread and everything was okay until page 7
I was always getting a error with this command: "bcdedit /set {default} testsigning on && bcdedit /set {bootmgr} testsigning on" but i was always getting errors and then i have followed the steps on page 8 that let me remove files in the EFI partition (i had backup the original files to my desktop) and add new files from a zip file. then i was needed to restart Windows and then i was getting a error:

When i touch the Windows touch on my keyboard i get this error:
What i have already tried, make a recovery USB but i can't boot this one because my VOLUME DOWN button doesn't work...
How i can get fix this?
(i was always entering the recovery mode from when windows was started up settings -> recovery -> restart and with this way i had started the command prompt in the recovery mode.)
I read here that alexenferman had the same error https://forum.xda-developers.com/wi...dows-10-build-15035-surface-rt-t4011147/page5

Well, that's sad..
You can try using a keyboard with media keys, and press the volume up/down on the keyboard but IDK if it works...
Otherwise, I think that the only way would be to open the device and try to replace the button.
If anyone else knows another possibility please post...

Hello i tried this but it doesn't work
I measured the buttons myself with a multimeter and this is the same for both buttons, so I suppose this is OK since volume + still worked. So either there is something wrong with that connector or with the volume button wiring.
But is there sometimes an option to access the memory? So that I can put those files back in the efi partition? I have completely separated the SURFACE here, but unfortunately I cannot find an option yet.
In a laptop you put the plug on your HDD and you have left here this is more difficult ...
Can you also get into the recovery menu without the volume down button, but for example via the volume down button on an earpiece (sound?)
And can you tell exactly what you did to start the recovery?
Thanks
Hello,
Good news, i have repaired the up/down button. (because i don't find a new button)
First I had measured the keys myself and they turned out okay, after looking closely I saw a wire break and soldered a wire over it (I don't find a new up-down) volume button.
Okay, the pictures seem to be tinkered with, but know that this is just something super small, that button is less than 3 cm in total (photo is extremely enlarged).
Ah yes it works back
Meanwhile also installed Windows 10 on it and it also works
Does anyone know if there is a Dutch language pack for that Windows 10 RT? (Dutch Belgium or Dutch Netherlands in het configuration panel Windows said there isn't no language pack available).
Second question
I have broken the ZIF connector (battery) from my Surface RT, is it true that this is the AYF532835 ZIF connector? I had read it somewhere, but the one who wrote it was not sure ...
Thanks in advance.
And sorry for my bad english.
