Well I have looked all over the internet for a forum dedicated to this device and have found nothing.
How is it that a device as popular as this one has no forum of it's own?
Obviously there is modding and disscusions about this device so isn't it about time to put it all into one place?
Would make it so much easier to find information about this device.
I cannot post an external link because I just registered (which was to provide you with the link to help you). So I have outlined how to get to the page which has all the information you will need to get started.
Go to Whirlpool Australia Internet and Technology forum (google it if need be), then add /wik/zte_tablet_v9_optus to the end of the domain to direct to it the page.

As a new user, I am already finding many people looking for software and ROMs.
If a new subforum could be created to contain all the ROMs that people have cooked and (perhaps in another subforum) software/tools that would be useful, this change may allow users to find information much easily and reduce duplicate threads.
A lot of what you are asking can be found in wiki. (roms, How to)
As for sofware if you are looking for something I have found handango a good place to start.
I was thinking more along the lines of unofficial ROMs that people have already cooked. I generally frequent the Wizard upgrading forum and see threads with custom roms on many of the pages. Only roms I found on the wiki were retail/official roms. Also, I noticed that a search using the word "rom" does not turn up any results.
In regards to software, it would be freeware and tools such as lokiwiz, total commander etc. On second thought though, the software subforum may be unnecessary or can just be consolidated into one thread as a sticky.
The search for 3 letter words does not work, there is a post about that in about (thus "new rom" returns nothing.
Roms end up in wiki as users post them to ftp and link then to wiki.
(mods move then to a safe place on ftp and fix the link (if they know about it).
If you are finding no cooked roms in wiki its due to the fact that the cooker did not post them or if he did nobody linked them.
If you feel like adding a good/great/useful software section open a page on wiki, it free for all and that would solve your problem and maybe a few others as well. (in my link there is wiki developement and there you will find a smaple page which will give you a few ideas about how to set up a page).
This forum is more about roms and hacks around roms than software. Software does pop up in general as in "I am looking for a free ftp client".
Not sure if you will ever find a stick for it as threads get long and people will just enter "resco explore" on every other page (as an example).

Which Side??
Well there are many based on the device

I was trying to find a spot to download the modems, and the page with the links to the www(dot)forums(dot)acsyndicate(dot)net are offline. So in order to get to the download links, if you're a new user like me, use Google's cache to view the old download links.
Type "cache:" without quotes and then the link to the forum into Google search.

As a brand new user, I can't post URLs, but at least I can maybe help someone that is having the same problem as I was.
I've got to say that these directions on this website are some of the hardest to follow. I think that the xda-developer website should be maintained as a wiki rather than a forum (or at least the main section should be a wiki). When I go to wikipedia, I don't have to sift through twenty posts to find out the history of 'Nevada' or the chemical makeup of 'acetaminophen.'
I understand that this web site is made for experts, but I've got to say that I've found many others who have scoured the website for information specific to their particular situation and gotten lost because that information is sandwiched between two threads and then between two other posts. Then they start a new thread and get chastised for posting about an issue that has already been hammered out in another post.
Conversely, I find that the simple instructions--like those found on youtube--simplify the instructions too much. The instructions work great for a select few, but most people run into problems during the install and have to turn to xda-developer to find more information.
A wiki would solve both of these problems. First, it would eliminate the knee-jerk reaction of noobies to just post their problem without reading. They would only be allowed to post to the forum if their particular problem wasn't resolved in the wiki. And if a lot of noobies kept posting about a problem that's already been solved, it would be up to the editors of the wiki to tweak the article to minimize confusion.
Secondly, with a bunch of experts working together to simplify the complex information means that they could have simple instructions with specific links for the situations where those instructions would not work. Some of the forum posts are like this, but they are few and far between.
The wiki that currently exists is mainly for information about the phones, not detailing instructions for development.
The reason I decided to rant was that my wife asked me to root her NookColor 1.3.0 and I proceeded to gather data on this process. I went to this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054027 and started reading the instructions for 1.3. It stated "2. Copy onto your flashable CWM SD card using Windows Explorer." I asked myself "How do I get a flashable CWM SD Card?" After some snooping, I found the instructions above 1.3 (in 1.2) where it stated "CWM Bootable from SD Card: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=987735"
I followed the link and it was this next page that got me. It has 6 different links to different versions of CWM, instructions regarding uRecImg and uImage files (I do not know what these are) and an admission in the first paragraph that the author will no long actively edit the thread. If this were a wiki, someone else could take the baton.
Please write back, as I'd love to hear from the community. I'm sure there's a plus to the forums; however, so far I haven't seen it.
The issue is that if anyone can edit content, then it cannot be trusted or treated as reliable...
Trolls could easily adjust commands so they would break devices.
The only way to let people see how reliable content is, is to ensure it is only editable by the named author, with their profile showing previous details to help decide if they are reliable or not...

If you come to a forum like XDA it should be to learn, which involves a lot of reading and depending what it is and on what device you wish to do it, a lot of practising. The answer to the question I've quoted is on the first page of your first link, which is why its always a good idea to read the first few pages of a thread, as certain things that aren't understood in the OP are answered in the first few pages.

Small question.
Not important but it keeps me thinking
I have added several treats from this forum to my personal startup page.
When you go to a treat you can choose for "last" (directly to the end of the treat).
But was is the link from this command. I can only add links to a specific page but not a link that goes directly to the end of a treat.
Is there a possibility to do that?

Yes, all you need to do is add ?goto=newpost at the end of the main thread link. Ensure the link does NOT contain a reference to a specific post.
So for your example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/unified-development/rom-wip-27-9-14-t2889474?goto=newpost
This takes you to the first new post of the thread, the first one you haven't read since your last visit.
Hello there!
Apparently today i've been browsing and browsing on the net, and found some very interesting plethora of archived links from Wiko's support site.
Since the site is unaccessible via normal browsers and all possible shenanigans:
i tried my luck at pasting the link over Wayback Machine and i have a feeling development could be revived by chance on the brand
(besides the fact i found from tons of search results many telling about the whole Fastboot issue- since, apparently, the company behind it, Tinno, sanded up an huge chunk of the fastboot commands by rendering flashing impossible).
!!Keep in mind, don't guarantee every device is saved on their source codes (plus their own stock ROMs) hosted at their own server (including Wayback)- some may be missing and unrecoverable!!
If one of the devices you like gets downloaded as a tiny .zip file (few kbs or mbs), consider it "unsalvageable" from Wayback-
but you can always attempt to copy & paste the link on your browser
(that is, by removing wayback's link before the support's site comes up- and if it is unavaliable even on the servers, then that sucks)
support.wikomobile.com on Wayback
Happy modding!

NOTE:I'm aware i'm posting this on the wrong thread, but i'm doing this in order to help the Wiko community in some way- since this is a Wiko thread eitherway, but sadly not a global forum for it.
