It is possible to root my Desire Hboot 0.93 PVT1 without Unrevoked, because I want to save the original Android recovery because if I need the Clockwork mod Recovery I like to use it with the fake flash, and because this is my third Desire motherboard I don't like to send it to warranty with the clockwork recovery if I need to send it again.
If a method exist, can you link it or explain it to me, please? Thanks to all, for your work and your passion in this work.

This one is 1 year old, but should be some recent guides over the net.
It is secure to do this procedure with a hboot 0.93?, because the tutorial don't talk about it.
You could also downgrade your hboot.

I just bought desire 1 weeks ago, My desire hboot is 0.93.0001, scld
I rooted my phone by unrevoked with recovery-RA-desire-v1.7.0.1-R5.1-0.93, and have flash a new rom.
But still s-on, i saw many treads about how to get s-off for 0.93 from chiese htcplayer forum, general methods are to downgrade 0.93 to 0.8x,
here i want to know if there is a simple method just like root with unrevoked, to get s off.
ps. i wanna clear that if root completely must include s -off

Hi
I want to S-OFF my desire, and just came across the revolutionary tool.
In their documantation file, they say they tested it only on HBOOT 0.93, and 1.02.
I didn't S-off my desire yet so I have STOCK HBOOT (0.90).
has anyone tried to use the revolutionary tool with this HBOOT ?
or if not, is there any SAFE way to change HBOOT (like 0.93) without S-OFF your device?
Alpharev.nl
1)if u try revolutionary, it will say you that ur hboot is not supported of course
2)if you don't have the 0.93 mean u are not up to date..the latest htc stock rom have 0.93 (ar least the unbranded one)
3)0.90? i think is 0.80? is it? it is an older hboot
4)u cant charge hboot if u have the stock one..the stock one is S-ON, mean u cant change it in no way..after s-off, u can change it
5)alpharev.nl could work
I meant to write HBOOT 0.92.0001 .. somehow the numer had mixed up.... that was weird..
anyway, I have an HBOOT 0.92.0001 with a PVT3 (yea, the device is preaty old, bought it about a year ago..)
too bad.. I thought I could do it more easily (and safe) and not go for the IMAGE way.. but if there is no choise, that what I'll do.
anyway, after I'll S-OFF by alpharev's IMAGE, how can I change the HBOOT? just flash it from recovery, or another way should be done?
many thanks for your help!
alhparev will replace ur actual hboot with the 0.93 "hacked hboot" with S-OFF flag (the same is for revolutionary)
after that u can change it (if u need a different partitions table to get more space on the data partition for example) through fastboot command, booting ur phone in fastboot mode
both alpharev and revolutionary do the same, give u s-off replacing ur actual hboot..revolutionary is an evolution of alpharev but only support 0.93.x and 1.02.x
btw to use alpharev first u have to root it with unrevoked
changing the hboot is only to get s-off and have the ability to use different partitions table..no other advantages in it
And of course in the rare event that revolutionary does not work on the old hboot, the old hboot can be upgraded with the froyo ruu

At the moment it is impossible to root your phone. It was a bad idea to unlock your bootloader with the software by HTC. Now you have to wait and hope that someone find a way to root + S-OFF with bootloader-version 1.03.0003.
Hi
Any news for my phone ?
Thanks
unlock it with the HTC utility, then place the attached file onto the root of your sd-card, and boot into the bootloader (not fastboot), when it asks to update click yes, you should then have a custom recovery that you can boot into.
Because you updated the bootloader, there is as of yet no way to get "true" S-OFF and flash one of alpharev's bootloaders, so tough luck.
So as i understand, with above method i can gain root access to load custom roms ?

With that method, you gain access to recovery, giving you the possibility to a) gain root access to your stock ROM (not necessary), backup your nand memory to SD-Card (do before flashing), wipe nand memory, flash root ROMs, and many more features.

my question is,
I can install some other room regardless HBOOT?

Hello everyone, i just got an old HTC Wildfire from my aunt and decided to root it and make it a useful secondary phone... the problem i ran into is the fact that it has HBOOT 0.80.0002.
I cant seem to figure out how to root it. I tried the full guide to rooting and de-branding but i got stuck first i tried to just use revolutionary, but that only supports hboot 1.01.0001 or something like that and then i tried to downgrade it (what u are supposed to do for 1.2.0002 hboot) but that didnt work either since i got stuck trying to create a goldcard image. Well i actually got the goldcard (found a functioning website online put in my CID and got the gold card, but the prtoblem was that i couldnt patch the mmc)
So anyone got any help for me? or a tip what tutorial i could try.
Phone info:
HTC Buzz (wildfire)
Hboot 0.80.0002
Radio 3.35.19.25
S-on
Firmware 2.1-update 1
Thanks for the help

If you run the unrevoked program it will root your phone with your current hboot. You could also consider working out your phones cid, (not the one from your goldcard) And then you could look for the correct update ruu. Upgrade to hboot 1.01.0001 and then use revolutionary and gain full s-off

Ok, unrewoked worked the second time around tried it before i posted here, but it stopped at pushing recovery image... i guess it must have been HTC sync (yeah forgot i had that instaled on this pc) when i uninstalled it as the software told me to it worked just fine. Rooted with CWM thanks for the help
Ok guys, is this even possible? I used Unrevoked and it worked nicely and got my phone rooted (super user) and CWM installed... but i still have S-ON... am i missing something here? should i flash something to get S-OFF or what? really confused right now...
Thanks.

Unrevoked never removed s-on, it used a root exploit to gain superuser access, install superuser and then flash a custom recovery. Revolutionary, which is a conjunction of team unrevoked and alpharev was the next step, after the upgrade to hboot 1.xx.xxxx unrevoked exploit no longer worked, so they found another I believe and forced a hacked bootloader into the phone, making it believe it was s-off even though the radio flag was still set to on confusing I know
so revolutionary s-off is from a patched hboot, and the xtc clip gives full radio s-off. The only real difference is that with xtc clip s-off you can remove SIM lock, but with the patched hboot you cannot, as the radio which houses the security (for all intents and purposes) is still set to on. The patched hboot just tells the hboot to ignore what the radio says and believe it is s-off all the time.
But before I ramble on you should be good to go with your hboot, but you may need to upgrade your recovery, in order to do this I believe you will need root and to flash the recovery by using a script called flash. I'll look Into it for you or, you could try the clockworkmod recovery app to flash the new recovery, you want 5.0.2.0 preferably
