Mine has been working normally since i used it.
Does it still light up when you're charging the phone?

yes, the led is OK, but all of my application that would be able to change the color for SMS notifications, gmail, ... do not succeed to do it; The led still remains yellow.
Nico

From what I have seen when u install a gingerbread rom the notifications are disabled from the settings. I am using LeeDroid and everytime i flash it it removes them. So just go to the settings and tick the leds that you need.

yep, I already check that;
As I said in previous post, the led is blinking well, except the fact it is always in yellow (maybe except red when battery is low but I did not check it)

change color of LEDs?

Hi guys,
is it possible to change the color of the LEDs?
My intention: Normally the LED glows green, when I missed a call or something like that it glows orange and when the accu is nearly empty it glows dark red.
Often I see the green LED in the corner of my eye and think it's orange - although I know that it's not.
So: Is it possible to change the color of the normal alarm LED into dark red? I tried no2chem_nueLED but it doesn't show the dark red LED.. :-/
Thanks in advance!
sorry to hijack the thread but is there a way to stop the led flashing all the time? the led next to the internet explorer button is constantly flashing green
hey,
Yeah I've been trying to figure out if there's a way as well. The same thing happens to me all the time. Whenever I see the green light from the corner of my eye I think it's orange too .
Anyone willing to shed some light on this?
@HungryHippo
The green lights indicate that your phone is currently connected to the Phone Network... it doesn't flash when you're out of ranch.. I don't know how to turn it off other than putting your phone in Flight Mode..
Hi there...
I think this thread is in the wrong place but ill still help
Use a regestry editor to change the leds
Disable flashing service LEDs
[HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\AllLEDMgr]
By doing this It WILL dissable the phone from vibrating!
As for changing the LED's colour I dont know how to but I will have a look!
Use the wiki as it is your friend!
How do you get the thing to be ON? The Green light used to be on when on charge......sadly I haven't seen the light ON now for the last 2 weeks despite it being on charge and does charge too?
Do I need to use the same registry hack to get the light to come ON?

Weird ... the same thing happens to me, too! I thought it was my aging eyes ... though I KNOW I'm not color-blind. But yes, when seen with only peripheral vision, it often appears to be the amber color. Very strange perceptual event here.
u could try using the nueled software in the dev and hacking forum not sure if it works like it should tried it once but u can always try it
yeh, nueLED has your best options...here's the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=371391
The reason your peripheral vision sees a different colour is that the LED isn't actually one LED - it's two. Probably red and yellow. This allows it to display
3 different colours, ie.
R = Red
Y = Yellow
R+Y = Green.
The R+Y is probably created by high-speed alternating between red and yellow. Your peripheral vision detects one colour only, probably because there are far less colour receptors at the side of your visual cortex than near the centre and they only register the one colour. As soon as you look directly at it, more rods/cones come into play and your brain then interprets what it's seeing as the blended colour, green.
The above isn't exactly correct, but it's close enough so you get the idea....
Amber
Hi!
I have another problem/request. Since I am not with my phone all the time I would like the Amber LED to flash if I have a missed call for indefinite time (until I check the calls) and not only for a limited period (and then changing back to green). It was already implemented in TNT6.0 SE ROM.
Is there only a question of some registry change (and which)?

If you go to settings>sounds&notifications>notifications>Phone:missed calls
You can change the Flash Light For value to NO LIMIT. Default is 15 mins.
Hope this helps
Dave
Sure it helps.
Thanks a lot.

Especially since yellow+blue=green.
hmm
yeah... nueLED doesn't work on my hermes. It doesn't give me the address of the red LED...
But the LED light does not light up AT ALL?
Has the LED blown?.....Didn't think thta was possible since its not a Bulb?

Notification LED

My very first phone was a old Samsung that had a bright blue LED that flashed letting me know I had a new text message or voicemail or missed call etc. (You could see that thing flashing a mile away)
That is one feature I really miss because I often leave my phone sitting on my desk that Im not around very much and repeating notification tones are out of the question.
Is there a way to use the service LED's as notification lights?
I will PM you a link to get a good one... Just check your messages...

This is a fine program.
This program is cool. Thanks. Only problem is the flashing LED alert is too much like the phone service LED. Its stuck in my brain that slow flashing green light is meaningless. Any way to make it use the different colored LED's ??

I know.. I'd like to see the low battery light and the bluetooth light flash alternating.
I think that is possible but I think you might have to edit some registry for that to occur...
what colors are all there? blue, green and orange? or are they multicolor led?

You can stop flashing the green light.
Only when you have a message.

I know that if you use a DontForget with PPC you get the choice of colour of LED "from reading there website" but not sure if possible on SP?
May be worth asking in general forum if anyone knows the reg settings needed?
This is not possible to manage LED (only blinking / off) on HTC s620.

That might work. Didn't think about that.
I still think it would be really cool if we could figure out how to get all the colors to flash or cycle through a patten.
I will try to look into it and see how it goes.

[Q] Does the Desire Z/G2 have a Green LED ?

Hey xda
I've had my Desire Z for about two months now and damn its the best phone i've ever had ! However i noticed something the other night which i would like to ask you about.
I have no green led that blinks every 3 seconds or so at the top where the speaker is. Shouldn't there be that when the phone is having reception ? I noticed this when i was charging my phone.. The older HTC's i've had usually glows orange when charging, but changing to green when its done charging.. But mine just turns off the orange led so theres no led litten up at all
Is this normal for the Desire Z or what does your DZ do ?
I have a G2, the charging LED goes from orange to green when it is above 80% (I think), but it isn't used at all outside of charging.
the green LED blinks when you have messages waiting or emails etc. as well as full charge indicator.
It really depends on how you've set your notifications up.

Is there somewhere i can change if the Green LED should be on or not ? Or maybe test it .. Because i never see this Green LED on.. When charging is done the orange led just turns off and no led is litten.. The same goes for when theres reception and i have a message.. The Green LED is not blinking at all
definitely sounds faulty to me. The only app I have ever heard rave reviews about is LEDme. Give that a try to configure the notification blinking. If that doesn't work, dig out your receipt for a return.
EDIT...... As Steviewevie has stated... App is called LED Me Know. My mistake.
The LED doesn't blink for notification unless you use an app (e.g. Led Me Know) or an app that does that for you.
In the stock DZ ROM, the trackpad itself blinks when you get a message, if that setting is switched on, though the blinking is very slow - e.g. every 10 seconds or so.
The LED in the speaker grille should turn green when the battery is fully charged. But when the phone is new there is a "learning" process for the ROM/battery, so that might be why you are not seeing it yet.
If you install the "Led Me Know" app (from the Market), there is a function in there to test out the notifications, so you could set it to use green and then test it from within the app, just to make sure your LED shows green ok.
The free app "Missed Call for Android 2.X" (there is another version that is just for Android 1.6) works well to change the LED notifications as well as vibrate patterns. I just tried it, and it works for flashing the green LED for a SMS notification.
Or if you only want to test it, download "covedesign dev"
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 running Cyanogenmod.
Or you could just get a blackberry instead.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Thanks for all the help guys .. I tried various of your mentioned apps and none of them seems to be able to make my green led glow.. Just wondering if i want a spare or not, since it just a rather small fault.. Do you think they will replace it ? is it enough faulty for them to fix it ?
If its supposed to have a green LED, and the green LED is broken, then I think its justification for a replacement.
Whether it bugs you enough to replace it, that's your decision. The only time I've seen it light up (without changing the settings with the Missed Call app) is when charging is done. So it really doesn't have much use, anyway.

Not rooted anymore, as i prepared my device for return.. But i tried it before, when i was rooted, and i was not able to get my green led to lit up with that program.. So i guess its faulty

[Q] Handcent - LED colour while charging

Hey
Is it possible to make the LED light on a HTC Desire show notifications while charging?
In the earlier releases i had the notification colour set to blue, which made my LED show purple when i received a message while charging.. Maybe this was just a bug because of the orange and blue colour being mixed, bit it was a nice feature..
Now my LED is always orange (or green obviously) while charging.. regardless of whether i have received a message or not.. so i have to turn on the screen to check..
I hope that someone know how to fix my problem. I am using the newest cyanogen mod 7 nightly and i know that it has LED settings and Profiles, which can override, but i can't seem to make anything work..
Btw. i posted this on the handcent forum earlier, but haven't received any replies..
Thank you in advance

hi,
yeo there is some work around about led notification.
just have a look on this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=837057

LED Notification light in top speaker grill?

Why is my LED Notification light in the top speaker grill?
Is this normal?
It's normal because that's where htc put it.
That's the design.
And it only shows two colors.
Amber while charging and green for all notifications
HTC UltimEight ?
It's the one thing I miss from my Nexus 5, loved having the RGB LED and using LightFlow to customise it. Hoping HTC sort this out in future...

Well technically you can use the amber LED for other notifications in apps that support custom LED colours. Just select the "red" option. Works for me on Whatsapp

Yup, it's rooted. But root access shouldn't affect such a thing, I didn't receive any root access requests when setting LED colour. What app did you try it on?

Hmm that's weird, unrooted and it still works for me. It's probably due to the custom rom then, I'm using the Venom rom

Has anybody found a way to override the 5 min limitation without using a 3rd party app? I can override it with an app called recurrent notifications manager and it works well, but I'd rather not use an app to do something that should happen anyway. Take note HTC...
I haven't seen a fix yet, they also need to take note to make the notification light flash while charging. Pretty stupid of htc if you ask me.
