1st of all wanna know what is App2SD....Hope its the application to transfer all your application installation to SD card....
2nd i have tried several methods listed here in forum...but no result.....SD card is having full space and phone memory is just 50 MB left.....
Tried Defrost application and selected all installation to external media....(Hopefully this is the correct method...but didn't figured out for me yet....)
Tried to give EXT3 partition to SD of 512 MB...but here i don't know the full procedure and really confused how to go about.....
Tried for Froyo ROM's as i believe its having inbuilt capability to install all app to SD card....No result yet....
I requet all my frnds here to just giude me to the right path...i am sure i will do the rest ..... really confused with a lot of explanation given in forum....

Someone please guide me........please
Instead of bumping your thread have you tried looking at the thread of the chef released rom for your phone as you might realise that others have same issue with the rom or not. I did a quick search of forums and i managed to find the answers within seconds.
We cant support your rom as we dont know what you are using / version and questions regarding that rom need to be posted in the correct forum thread

Sorry M8...But i am really confused with several ROM's and Methods listed here...
I will follow your instructions in future....Sorry Again....
Different roms work differently and you really need to try one, then ask about it in the chefs rom thread and if you dont like try another. Swapping roms and trying to use the same instructions on each may not work so you are only confusing yourself.

A2SD is indeed moving apps to the external memory. A lot of custom roms have it. It requires an EXT partition on your memorycard, an easy way to do that is to get rom manager from market
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Thread moved to Q&A.
judging by your post, you have already rooted your phone
here's an example how to do it with Official Froyo HTC Sense ROM v1.0c, which has built in old A2SD. I think it should work
- backup apps and system data with Titanium Backup Donate
- copy sd card content to pc in disk drive mode (by doing this, you will also copy your backups)
- download rom, radio and put them in root folder of your sd card
- you need to have some sort of recovery (whether it's update.zip in root, or permanent recovery - it's your choice)
- say a little prayer
- enter hboot -> recovery
- wipe all alvailable options (it depends on your current settings): data, cache, davlik cache, ext
- flash radio, it will ask for you to reboot from recovery, do it, it will restart few times, don't interrupt process of instalation.
- flash rom
-after you finish it, don't reboot, instead partition sd card using standard options: swap 0, ext2 512, fat32 rest, sd: ext2 to ext3 (this will format and partition your sd card, you will loose it's content
- reboot your phone, it will last longer than usual
- copy your sd card content from pc back to sd
- install titanium backup donate and restore system data and apps, it should force apps you previously had installed to sd
- reboot phone to finish restore
- install quick system info and check if your A2SD storage is partialy filled with data
-you should have your current apps and settings with A2SD enabled
Finally did it today with ROM manager huh......
Thanking all for support...

I was thinking of installing the Wildchild ROM but wasn't sure if a few things that I use on a daily basis were working because nobody had asked about them..
Anyway,
1. Does the Camera work?
2. Does Mobile Network work?
3. How much Internal Storage is user available?
4. What's the difference between the Odex'ed version and the De-Odex'ed version?
Thanks! :highfive:

1.Yes
2. Yes
3. Depends if you have data 2sd or link2sd.
4. You can theme deodexed version. Odex has more internal memory.
Use odex if u want to use link2sd. Otherwise deodex. No doubt it has got everything working accept for HTC bloatwares. If u want pure sense u can always choose wildchild sense.
For internal storage go to the link in my sign and check the second last image.

From the horse's mouth:
1. Like a ****ing BOSS!
2. (See above.)
3. That info is provided to you in a snazzy (yet outdated) graphic in Post #1 of the original WildChild thread. Found here, for your viewing pleauremints.
4. Lots of good tutorials here on XDA will explain that in detail but the nutshell is this: ODEX == (more room in the /data partition); DEODEX == (more room in the /system partition). Since it is desirable for most sane users to have as much users space in /data (for your apps!) then it is in your best interest to try the ODEX'ed version. If, however, you wanna get funky with Link2SD (or a2sd/data2sd/etc.) and desire to theme my ROM, then you'll wanna get DeOdex'ed because it will be a pain in the ass to mod otherwise.
Take care, and don't forget to slap a THANKS my way, Billie Jean!

Flashed it, it's brilliant! Love the transitions and lock-screen especially. Could I suggest one thing though? There's an app called "ROM Toolbox Lite" that has the features of a few of the apps you included in the ROM such as "AdFree" "File Expert" "Link2SD" and "NoFrillsCPU" inside the one app. It's pretty useful and means I don't have to keep switching apps to do everything I need to do. There's nothing wrong with what's there it's just for simplicity's sake.. Still, this is the first ROM I've flashed and I love it. Thanks!
Also, I'm pretty new here. So how do I thank your last post? I can't find a button or anything?
Scratch that last bit, i found it...
sd card is not there )
i just installed this ROM, and everything works just fine... but my phone can't see my SD card at all... so, i did reinstall, and again same thing... like my SD card is not there at all, but during installation i choose .zip file from card and installation work normaly.... someone with same problem here?

Something similar happened on my tablet a while ago, it said it didn't recognise that is was there but if you go in to Settings>SD and Storage, it should show all the statistics etc.. and give the option to mount or unmount the card. If its unmounted then just mount it, problem fixed. If it is mounted (Mine was) then it's just the phone being awkward. The only difference it makes though is that you have to go into a file manager or link2sd to move anything to it. You can't move things from the built in file manager... If it's not like either of those then either the SD card is full or i'm outta ideas.. Sorry if this doesn't help...

i found mistake. all partitions of sd card must be primary.
*sigh* This is probably the best ROM out there that I can find, and I can't use it because my phone is CDMA, so everything but wifi and mobile works, and I really need those.
Please please please consider making a marvelc/cdma version of this ROM. I don't want to have to settle for an inferior ROM just because of this. Or if you know of an app I can install that will fix this issue, please let me know
Hello,
I installed on my Desire with STOCK HBOOT Sandvold ICS in the Version 0.17.1.1. I choosed stock a2sd in the installation and active in terminal a2sd install. Then I restored my apps by Mybackup Root. I have now the problem if I want to install a app from the market I get the error message "No Disk space available" (or something like that, I'm using German language).
I have a 512mb ext4 partition and activate a2sd in Terminal. I searched the topic for problems like that and found that I have to install mount2sd. I did this, but it didn't help either.
What should I do now? I haven't enough posts to post in the sandvold ics topic.

Why? No.
If you can live with slower perfomance, active the stock a2sd again with answers: y, y ,y

I had exactly the same problem. At first I chose during flashing the option "Regular a2sdext" as it seems good to me. However, nothing has changed, it was not working for me at all. Then I reflashed again with "Stock a2sd" and after booting I went to terminal and activated it. I tried it with several combinations (in some of them I got the message "Insufficcient storage available" and I only had like 5 apps installed...). At the end I finally made it work with the combination that is recommended by Sandvold - Y N Y. After that I have been installing several apps and my internal memory does not go down almost at all :good:... I will see later, but for now, this is the best set up for me....
I had this problem
I had this problem with one application. When installing from market, there'd be a pop up message saying that there was no more storage space even though there was plenty.
A few hours later, everything went back to normal and I managed to install all the apps I wanted.
(Side question: have you guys updated to Sandvold ICS 0.18 Beta?! I have, but I lost root access, so now I'm trying to regain it. Could someone alert Sandvold? I'm a new member and I can't post to 'Android development forums")

what do you mean that you lost root access? I was planning to upgrade to 0.18 today (I flashed 0.17.1 yesterday, but I have an issue with my phone - I cannot recevie any phone calls - and I hope another flash might help it...), so I guess I will wait a while....

I have been testing 0.18 for a few hours now. Your phone issues should be resolved except you will encounter a new issue. You will lose superuser privilliges, to restore this, you have to install a zip of superuser through recovery.

I had 0.17.1.1 and all was well, it was tiny bit laggy, but overall it was cool.
i updated to 0.18, and I lost root access: the apps requesting SuperUser premissions were denied. (If you don't know what root access is, please google it)
As iyf said, you can flash the zip provided in Sandvold's official thread to restore root access. Check page 1601 or so for the flashable zip that will restore root access. I did so, and regained root access.
Then I got back all my apps as Sandvold 0.18 is my daily driver. But as I was using it, I noticed that whenever you change something in the system settings, it does not apply immediately. For example, I want my phone to lock immediately when it goes to sleep, well it simply doesn't. The power menu lost a few of the shortcuts it had in 0.17.1.1 (sound profiles...) and even if you restored them in the system settings, it won't change.
All in all, 0.18 is great step in terms of stability and reactiveness. No more scroll lag, apps open seamlessly, and no more 3G signal problems. The camera still isn't working though. Nevertheless, bizarrely the system lost its coherence: the system settings are not immediately applied and used, and the screen just won't lock. Those are the problems I encountered this afternoon.
I hope Sandvold takes a look at this thread as I cannot post on the official ROM thread coz I just registered on XDA.
(My Home button died today, even if I press it really hard, it won't respond, but I think it's a hardware issue)
EDIT: About the no more space issue, I had this today even though there was plenty of space left. I rebooted the phone and the warning disappeared.

of course I know what root is, otherwise I would not be here, right? ... I just did not understand what happened to you when you updated to 0.18.... Now I understand.... and regarding to your issues - in 0.17.1 I had exactly the same problem - my screen did not lock even I set it up correctly and I also had the problem with Home button, it simply did not work + I could not receive any phone calls... all of that was really annoying and I tried to find some help on sandvold's blog, without any success, I also tried their IRC, nobody helped me either. I did not want to do a full wipe again, but at the end I did (and now I have to set up everything as well ) but after full wipe, everything is working correclty... I can receive phone calls, my screen locks and home button is also working ... so I recommend you to do a full wipe, I am sure it will resolve your issues as well...

I also lost the root access with Beta 0.18(with full wipe),
(Beta 0.17 "root access" is OK!)
Superuser is out of order with this issue so that I can't activate A2SD
btw,
I have once tried the "AD2SDX", but didn't work normally:
I merged 1GB ext4 for it. And every time when I install about 10~15 Apps
A message on the top of the screen would tell me that I almost reached the limit.

By full wipe you mean:
1. wipe data/factory reset
2. wipe cache
3. wipe dalvik cache
4. wipe battery stats
right?
I always do that when I flash a new ROM... Anyway, will try again later and hope that it works.

you mean working with AD2SDX ?
Can I ask you how do you merge and format ext4 ?
Actually, I'm using MiniTool Partition Wizard, is it okay ?
cause I did reboot after I saw the message, but didn't work.
But I surely know that I can see "1GB" in "Apps" in "settings"
quite confusing

It's not okay, minitool doesn't do that correctly. Use 4ext recovery to partition your sd card.

Quite confusing indeed. I must say I'm no expert developer or programmer, heck I'm an engineering student. i just experiment on my Desire. But my experience in bricking/unbricking/flashing/etc tells me the following:
Minitool wizard apparently is not okay. I used it at first too but my Desire just could not read or detect the EXT3 partition I created. I tried EXT4. I tried different roms and scripts, none worked for me. (To be honest, I only tried 3 roms and a few scripts).
What I used is plain simple: Clockworkmod Recovery partitioning tools. It works for me!
First restore your SD card to full FAT32 configuration (I might suggest changing the basic storage unit from a few bytes to a few kilobytes as it might increase SD card responsiveness).
BACK IT UP, you will lose everything on it when you partition it in CWM.
Boot into recovery and select partition SD card (It is advised that the size of your partition does not exceed 1.5 GB as a few ROM developers have pointed out - not Sandvold though- I use 512 MB, which is more than enough for me). Set SWAP to 0 Bytes. (i have no idea what swap is, should google it, but most threads advise a swap of 0 B).
That's it, you have your partition.
I use CWM and Sandvold 0.18. If you use this setup, everything should be okay, at least it's ok on my phone.
I use stock a2sd when flashing Sandvold ICS ROMs.
I'm on stock HBOOT, S-OFF, and using the regular Kernel that comes with Sandvold 0.18. (I tried tiamat, but the battery dies after half a day of use!)

I use stock a2sd when flashing Sandvold ICS ROMs.
I'm on stock HBOOT, S-OFF, and using the regular Kernel that comes with Sandvold 0.18. (I tried tiamat, but the battery dies after half a day of use!)

As I know, swap in linux is somewhat like virtual memory in Windows.
Will be launched when the system is in low memory.
That's exactly everything I know
I'm now Using Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4, stock HBOOT, S-OFF
And just follow your way to full wipe then install the system again(stock a2sd)
I still can't get the root access. thus, I can't activate a2sd in terminal
PS: with Beta 0.18
But Beta 0.17.1 currently work!
Hello Folks,
I have just moved from MW CM 5.0 to MW 4.3 (Oxygen) due to some call-delay issue of the first one.
MW 4.3 is quick and with no major bugs. the only bad surprise is the memory availability. Making a Titanium restore of all the previouse app+dada I crashed in the annoying "not enough memory" message.
I imagine that the fact that the M2SD is managed internally change the performance of it (true?). By the way I was playing with the different option trying to gain some space and I came across a new functionality (new for me) such as "bind /data/data to sd-ext/app-data" not really sure what it does but it increased my free internal memory from 12mb to 89mb. GREAT !! the only problem is that the overall speed of the system went drastically down. I guess it s normal as application will read their data from the SD instead of the quicker internal memory. Unfortunately with this option on the whole gsm was not usable anymore.
My question is: Is there any way to free more memory using this ROM? (with a decent GSM's response time)
Thanks for your help

Well... that's the only option available on that rom, is to enable and mount sdext, that way it will move apps to the sdcard. I don't think it moves dalvik. Either way, what's your sdcard and class? Usually moving only apps doesn't really slow nothing important unless it's a class 2 card or some card with slower speeds. Even moving dalvik the rom should stay fast IMO. There's a slowdown but not that much.

I think that option I used "bind" move app and data to sd-ext. my sd is a class 4.

if u check the attachments for the rom in the development thread, there should be a dalvik2sd.zip there, i think i posted it there ages ago. just flash it in recovery.

Jm,
I have a comment for you. First while I was looking for you post (could not find it though) I came across something that goes against your post, please read the following
<<
Do a clean installing!
Tips:
To enable Apps2Sdext and/or Data2SdExt visit Settings|Applications|Development.
To set the default installation partition go to Settings|Applications.
To move applications from sd-ext|sdcard|internal Settings|Applications|Manage Applications.
There is no Dalvik2SdExt because .dex will follow the location of the apk, so if you install an application on sd-ext the dex will be on sd-ext, the same applys for internal or sdcard.
Do not use A2sd scripts. >>
So where is the truth. Do I need this script or not. If you can explain me why could you also provide a link to this script?
Thanks in advance
Stefano

The part that confuse me is that "There is no Dalvik2SdExt because .dex will follow the location of the apk, so if you install an application on sd-ext the dex will be on sd-ext, the same applys for internal or sdcard."
I do not understand .. what he is saying, there is not dalvik2Sd and there is not need to have one (something like the A2SD) or there is not dalvik2sd so go ahead to install one.
if you know that the dalvik2sd script can free some space without side effects...pls post it
thanks

basically if u check the box to install apps in sd-ext, from "now" on apps will install on sd-ext, but there is aready dalvik cache on ur phone before u check the boxes and thats what the dalvik2sd.zip moves(i think). iv used the zip and has no effect on performance or anything, it just free's up a wee bit of space.
il post the zip in bout 2 hours coz im busy. if u look at the OxyZM thread, click the attachments, the file is there.

...hello jm just coming back to thank you for your support. Finally I have a stable situation. Nevertheless after installing the script you have uploaded nothing changed. I had to factory reset, reinstal CM 4.3, install your script and everthing went smooth. Now it s 2 weeking I am keeping installing new apps and my free memory stay basically stable uner 80mb free space.
I have just one curiosity..if I go to Settings--> storage I see SD-ext "unavailable". After all I do not care much but if it is unavailable...where my apps have been stored so far? ps I reserved 1Gb of SD-ext .
Cheers
ps I just installed another apps of 3mb...no changes in the free space, so cool I feel like "no-limits"

not sure if it's been mentioned, but you should also be on cm7r2 hboot to maximise space (need to be s-off).
then follow the instructions on the first page of the thread to enable sd-ext. this will move user apps + user app dalvik cache to sd-ext. in other words, most of the dalvik cache should already be on sd-ext.
the dalvik2sd script should only move system dalvik cache to sd-ext, which will save you a little space.
to check everything is working, use an app like 'diskusage' to browse your partitions.
Hallo,
I am working with the stable CM9 version and INT2EXT+ on my HTC Wildfire S which you really cannot use without any 'storage expanding' script.
Its storage space is so horrible low. So thank you for this solution very much.
The mentioned constellation is running fine and fast so far - just the opposite to ROM EQDKP (with Data2SD) I had before which was stable but EXTREMLY slow!! (only the akku state makes problems obviously at all CM versions as it does not seem to be correct (lack of refresh)! Unfortunately.)
There is still enough space on my SD card:
* Phone info -> partition info: 724 MB used from 1,08 GB (data folder)
* Apps -> All: 683 MB used, 421 MB free
* Storage -> internal storage: 782 MB Apps, 380 MB free.
Who knows why they are different but anyway they say about the same.
But now I have a GooglePlay download problem when I want to install apps bigger than 12 MB. (before (when I did not have so many apps installed) this never was a problem)
To say it clearly: it is NOT an installation problem but happens already during the app download. It just stops and says that there is not enough internal phone storage left. VERY strange!
I doubt that this has to do s.th. with a cache space, does it? But this would be the space used for downloads, right?
[partition info -> cache: 2,5 MB / 35 MB; pi -> system: 211 MB / 260 MB)
But why should it make problems then? Can this be a problem of the script / INT2EXT ??...
I would be glad to get hints from anybody what the real problem here could be.
Thank you very much!

That's because of the script(INT2EXT+), it keeps the data/data in the internal memory. This will give you more speed but if it is filled you won't be able to install or download anything from the Play Store. That's the reason why you are not able to use your EXT partition completely. If you want more space for apps, try INT2EXT4. But you will have to sacrifice some speed if you use it
Hallo csoulr666,
thanks for your helpful feedback!
Aha, but I would have expected an error message only during installation but not during download already which uses just the cache, doesn't it???...
Maybe you refer to the sentence of the INT2EXT script author: "100mb internal is needed for every 500mb sd-ext"!?
Is it this what you mean?...
But I still have much more than 200 MB left (380MB)!!... That should not be the reason then!?...
(and again: he talks about the internal state memory but not about the cache which is reserved ANYWAY, isn't it?...
How can I find out how much data is left in the original internal memory???...
And why are there differences in memory above (284, 421, 380 MB)?...
*****************
But if it once should be for sure that the internal memory is the reason for that I would prefer to change the 1 GB sd-ext partition to 1,5 GB by 'Minitool Partition Wizard'. Should work, shoudln't it?...
Or do you think the difference in speed is not that much!?...
However, Root Explorer tells me for data/data:
used 130,66 MB, free 19,34 MB. (unfortunately cannot see folder sizes!)
Hmmmh... so now I understand nothing anymore!!
Should I at the end add 200 MB + 130,66 MB ?...

What the author meant that you need a 100MB of "acutal" internal storage(not EXT partition) to be able to use about 500 MB of the EXT partition. That's actually an estimate value, so you won't be able to get the same figures in all the ROMs. Even before downloading, the Play Store checks for the storage available for all the parts of an application. Maybe that's why it returns errors
Hallo csoulr666,
thank you for your additional explanation. In fact this would explain the phenomena.
I calculate then:
About 100 MB internal memory I need for 100 MB.
As WFS has about 120 MB internal mem. it is about 650 MB at all. Correct?
So this is the limitation ia have then which is too early.
And do you know if I can read out the left or too low memory anyhow.
Means, does any value gives me an information about the left actual internal memory value?
Possibly no?...
So then I am thinking about a change of the memory script.
Did you or anybody else can answer the following questions?:
1.) Do I have more memory left with scripts like Link2SD, INT2EXT or INT2EXT4 ??
2.) Is the speed reduction remarkable here? And if so when exactly?
3.) How can I change over to another script without reinstalling the whole ROM? (no overwriting possible, is it?)
Thank you very much again for your feedback!!

Actually the usable space depends on the internal memory that is free. So it will vary from different ROMs.
1) You would have more space with INT2EXT, INT2EXT4 but not with Link2SD(unless you buy the PRO version of the app allowing to move everything to the EXT partition)
2) Speed reduction can be significant if you load it up with a lot of Apps. And it might get a little annoying after 2-3 weeks or so
3)Overwriting will not be possible in most cases, since different scripts might mount different things on the 2nd Partition
back again from holiday...
So what would you suggest what I can do?
To 1: How much memory do I win in average with INT2EXT or the others? Can I install e.g. double the number of apps then?...
To 2: Your answer stands for which scripts? All the three? Or only INT2EXT, INT2EXT4 maybe?...
Could you explain why exactly the speed reduction appears? (isn't the fix part of an app also loaded in the fast RAM when started. So isn't it more a question of available RAM than speed?...)
To 3: Changing to another script would mean to flash the whole ROM again?... Or isn't there a way to delete my actual INT2EXT+ before installing e.g. INT2EXT?... Or is there still another way to exchange my script??...
4.) At last I couldn't even start my mobile at all! Although I did not install any new app for months all background provesses (like GooglePlay) cannot be started. Is this maybe because of updates of installed apps?...
Anyway I deinstalled TripAdvisor which needed full 45 MB ( and cannot be moved to SD card at all). But this did not help at all (reboot done)! I still have the same memory problems now and now cannot run my ROM CM9. Why not? Why the deinstallations don't help??...

1. You will definitely be able to install more apps, but the exact number depends on the apps you use.
2. (2) stands for the difference between INT2EXT/INT2EXT4 and INT2EXT+
3. You simply can't change scripts, you will have to make a clean install and then use another script.
4. That happens sometimes, I generally reflash the ROM to get rid of this.
thank you vrey much, csoulr666, for answering !!
Unfortunately there are still answer details left...
To 1: What is it that makes the space bigger? Isn't it just the data part which normally is very low? (s. www.xda-developers.com/android/cronmod-gives-users-options-of-a2sd-d2ext-int2ext) So I suppose that there would be no big win of space with INT2EXT instead of INT2EXT+. What do you say?
1b.) How can I measure/read and estimate the left telephon space which is too small/missing in my case? (you know, all my storage values are okay currently but I have this problem anyway!)
1c.) What happens if I move apps to SD card by Options/Apps although INT2EXT+ is working?... And can this help?
T0 2: Again, could you please explain why exactly the speed reduction appears? I don't understand this. (isn't the data part of an app also loaded in the fast RAM when started. So isn't it more a question of available RAM than speed?...)
To 3: This is very bad news. It would mean much work for me if I really had to reinstall the ROM.
So are you pretty sure? Did you try already? I e.g. could imagine that there might be an extra transfer/exchange script from the author. Or a script exchange is already supported by the scripts. Oe.
See, the INT2EXT would also move the data part. So as this is NOT done yet (INT2EXT+) the new script (INT2EXT) would just have to complete this by moving them also to SD. I would imagine that this should work, shouldn't it?
3b.) Do you know where the script is located?... And shouldn't a new flash just overwrite it (both are very simular anyway!)? (maybe it can be done manually as well??...)
To 4: Isn't that strange? How can that happen? Why do you say 'sometimes'? Own experiences?
What can be the reason for this sometime problem?... How can I double-check that? Or is there maybe any option necessary to say the system to re-read the storage values?... Or... Who else can I ask?
Which phone do you have and which scripts did you try already?
If you cannot answer some questions... Can I reach the writer of the INT2EXT scripts maybe?... (if I may write him under [email protected] ?...)

1. What happens is that the internal memory is moved and linked to the 2nd partition you created on the SDcard. The scripts vary on the basis of what parts of the memory(system files, data files) are being transferred and how it is transferred to the EXT partition.
1b. I can't seem to estimate the storage left in any way I tried, so can't help you there.
1c. This COULD help, but I'm not quite sure about that.
2. The SDcard has a slower speed as compared to the Flash memory on your phone. INT2EXT+ tends to rectify this by leaving the app data(/data/data) on the internal memory. So if the app data size reaches close to the actual internal memory, you will get low memory errors.
3. As I mentioned in 1 above, the scripts vary on how the linking is done, so it would only make it worse if you just remove the script and add a new one.
3b. The scripts are located in "/system/etc/init.d". See 3 above for the rest of the answer.
4. I have never been able to find the solution to the problem, too much apps, script causing problems.......... I don't know.
My phones are mentioned in the Signature. I have tried nearly every EXT script(Link2sd, INT2EXT,INT2EXT+, mount2sd etc) with the WFS.
thank you again for your good and detailed explanations and your patience!!
To 1): Okay, thank you anyway. In average it seems as if the limitation ist just about 700 MB for WFS. And if all data files are transferred to the SD card the internal storage will not be filled at all, right? So the space for downloaded apps seems to be limited only by the size of the SD card, right? Remark: Would be perfect if it could be selected during app installation where the data sector of the app should be transferred to. But this does not seem to be possible by a script, is it?...
To 2): Okay, that's what I know - the much slower SD card. I mean how can I estimate if an app which uses data files needs to access them often or not?... Would be good if I could estimate that before I use/choose an app.
To3): Okay, understand. However I did it, overwriting the old script. Booting was possible but there was no change at all.
4.) You wrote that you tried so many scripts... So which is your conclusion? Which INT2EXT script do you use today?...
4b.) And is there any reason why there is no script INT2EXTV2 (without '+')? Cause I would like to use Linux swap and need more than 750 MB memory for my downloaded apps.
Or where can I get this script maybe ?...
Another problem I have...
5.) I tried to install the actual CM11 (cm-11-20141004-NIGHTLY-marvel) with INT2EXT but I cannot boot again after I additionally flashed GAPPS (Gapps-KK-4.4.0-Signed): endless loading. (I followed the original installation instruction!!)
How can that be? I suppose that the reason is that my storage size for the system part is too low. But the email app is already missing in this ROM... Isn't that strange? Did this happen to you as well already?... What can I do?...
5b.) Now I am in the situation that I can choose between CM9, CM10 and CM11. Which one would you suggest most?
Remark: CM11 seems to make problems and e.g. its storage management does not work: at 'Android options/storage' it does not show the sizes (endless calculation...), launcher is more circumstancial, etc. Up to now I used CM9 which worked quite well - but it is old. Maybe CM10?...
Or isn't it the most actual one? How can I find?...
Thank you again for your good feedback!!

1) I think so, but considering not much of the files are transferred, it will make a slight difference instead of a big one. And no, all the scripts I know of do not provide the option to select the sector to install to during the installation of an app. That would actually defeat the purpose of the script to be easy to use. Beginners will have a hard time if they are provided with millions of options.
2) I don't think you can estimate that. You will then need to create estimates for every kind of app(and there are a LOT kinds of them)
3) Overwriting a script with another would either not work or will cause problems.
4)I was using INT2EXT4 recently but will not use anymore scripts because the WFS isn't my primary device anymore. So I don't require much apps to be installed on it.
4b) You will have to ask the developer of the scripts that. He will clear you on that more.
5) That could be because of the Gapps, what was the size of the Gapps you installed? If you are using the one from Goo.im or PA's site then you need to switch to a lite version of Gapps.
5b) I personally use CM9 or CM10.1 if I want stability. CM10 has it's fair share of bugs since it hasn't received as much time as the CM 9 and 10.1. In then end it is upto you to decide which ROM suits you more.
to 1.) I think Link2SD is supporting this (selected data location)... It is easy to handle (you decide once just before installation of an app)!
to 4.) Have you been satisfied with INT2EXT4 ? Maybe it is not my last change from EXT3 to EXT4, I don't know... But my CM11 version now runs in some way unstable. S. below.
to 4b.) I asked Croniccorey already but unfortunately he did not answer yet...
to 5.) Gapps-KK-4.4.0-Signed is said to be already a lite version. So I cared for that. The size: 15.2 MB. Is that okay? If so then we have a strange problem here, don't we?
Meanwhile I did the following: I did not flash both (Rom AND INT2EXT4 script) within one boot as advised everywhere. And this time GooglePlay suddenly appeared. It seems to be included in the Rom but before (Rom and script in ONE boot) did definitly NOT appear. Strange, isn't it?...
So this time it was not necessary to flash GAPPS so that this problem was shipped around.
But this CM11 with INT2EXT4 (before CM9 and INT2EXT+ which was quite fast and stable (but limited to 720 MB Apps)) is not that stable AND boots at least double the time than CM9!!
During installation/configuration of CM11 and lots of apps there were a lot of crashes. E.g. I started Skype four times or GoogleMaps twice (after installation) before they did not crash during their start.
I wanted to give up already but after all that it now the apps which need big resources run acceptable.
Now they crash only when there are too much processes at one time. E.g. if more than 4 pictures of WhatsApp (which s.o. has sent to me) are loaded. Or if there is a heavy background process running and I scroll some content of another app.
I doubt if this is what you ment with unstable (of CM11)!?
6.) Do you have any idea where this kind of unstability comes from?...
And which kind of unstability did you realise at CM11?...
But again, maybe it is just my change from EXT3 to EXT4. Maybe I did not select the right settings, like cluster size, ...!?
would be perfect if you or s.o. else would comment my experiences soon.
I really don't know right now what is normal here and what I would have to accept so far...
meanwhile I could answer my questions and problems by myself by long tries, as nobody seemed to know it here...
To 1.) Yes, Link2SD seems to be just the same as INT2EXT scripts (but here you need to pay for a none-'+'-version: app data are only linked to SD with Link2SD plus version) but you can control at each installed app if also app DATA are moved to SD or not. And you have a comfortable UI where you can manage everything. You can even switch off the linking. At INT2EXT there is no chance: if you want to change anything you have to reinstall your whole ROM !!
To 2.) I could not realise a very remarkable reduction of speed between INT2EXT4+ and INT2EXT4. Sometimes the start or change of apps (taskmanager) was a bit slower. So if you use a class 10 SD card and you want no app installation limitations I suggest not to use the INT2EXT plus version. Maybe the solution is LINK2SD anyway!...
To 3.) The perfect solution here is the app Link2SD (s. GooglePlay).
To 4.) My CM11 ROM now runs stable. Solution: I reinstalled it and flashed it with 'SuperWipeMarvelEdition' first. Really unbelievable but that helped!
To 5.+6.) Also these problems were solved with 'SuperWipeMarvelEdition'. Now the flashing of GAPPS worked fine.
To 5b.) My CM11 version runs also quite well. It might be a bit slower but not much. But it is quite big and lots of system functions are missing. E.g. Google Weather & News, Email, Talk, etc. Its GAPPS is too small. An INT2EXT PLUS version is impossible here as you have just 30 MB internal storage left! You have to search for all the apps and install them additionally. Unfortunately I could not find any pool where all those missing apps are collected for download. Very sad! Does anybody know?... (what I found only: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1917411 )
Point 4b) I still could not answer. Nobody seems to know and Croniccorey unfortunately does not give any life sign...
