Is Big Brother Checking Our phones?

Every time I boot up I see media scanning running in the task bar against my SD and external SD and USB then the 3G up arrows solid light. I would like to know what’s going on there.

Media scanner just searches for media files so they show up in music player and video player

OP, this is just the normal boot process. As your phone boots up, it scans your media and the data activity you see is your phone either checking your email, App updates, etc.

For Google Music. You really gotta stop worrying about this stuff. If people wanted to check on what you're doing, they can do it from any phone, even if you get a basic flip phone. Same thing with your computer so I wouldn't be so paranoid...

I got it installed on all my phones by going into settings>applications>manage applications>market uninstall updates. Opened old market app went to the home screen then after a minutes went back to market and voila!

I had to select a song from the market home screen, near the bottom, then when I backed out to the home screen, it was there.

Anyone else think its an oversight that there is no section for top free music in the market. Google's claim to fame here is so much free music yet you can only see it on the web version of the market.

There is only 10 to choose from, mainly hip hop. Drake, Busta Rhymes and then Maroon 5 and so forth.

Turn pff capacitive lights

Ok so ive been hearing alot of people say that the capacitive lights drain battery so is there a way to turn them off. Im using lux autobrightness theres a setting for it but cant get it to work.

Are you rooted? From what I've seen in that program you need to be rooted for that feature to work.

Turn off notifications in ur superuser app, but with the app running nonstop in ur background I doubt u will be saving much battery. Mikg3.11 has the ability to turn them off in the built in tweaks app. Just fyi

I had also found this. Also read you could force stop the app and the lights would stay off until you reboot your phone.

MikG has the option in MikTweaks it works for me.

Skype

Tried different radios/roms and still cant get it to handle skype. Cant hear the others and all they can hear is noise from my side only.
On my laptop everything is great (just to assure its not abt my connection)
Help is greatly appreciated

now am on aokp jb build 4
on cm9 and darkside had the same issue, even on many radios

did u clear data?... try the jedi roms they have super speed when it comes to Internet imo

Did you try the mod skype.apk by one of the xda dev? Did the job for me evrything is working fine even the video and i'm on 4.0.3

Gave it a try ... its way better but still not acceptable. The pc audio/video quality is way better

Yeah, it's like putting a Chevy sticker on your Ford.
The Galaxy SIII doesn't offer Beats audio?
Wish I could help but the best suggestion so far is the sticker thing. AFAIK, nobody makes a "BeatsAudio" battery case or anything else for the Samsung line of phones. It's more of an HTC thing.

I used it on my Galaxy s3 before last update and works perfectly. Besides I use Bose headsets

Works fine with mine except it force closes music after you disconnect head phones but that's not too big of a deal
