[Q] PRI included in Nandroid backup? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am looking at trying out Virus' Kingdom Revo ROM, but am wondering about the PRI downgrade.
I have everything working really nicely with Gingerbread-EVO-Deck ROM and have it backed up with Nandroid (Clockwork).
If I downgrade the PRI and perform the Kingdom install, when/if I return to the Deck ROM via Nandroid, will I need to reflash the PRI, or will the Nandroid backup include that?
Thanks.

You will need to reflash the PRI, if you want to. I find that the 1.77 works better for me on all ROMS. But yea, none of the radios are included in a nandroid backup.

From 2.2 Froyo back to 2.1 Eclair

I never saw an answer to this question. But I did see someone say that they went back to 2.1 after they were running the new leaked 2.2 ROM. I also recall reading somewhere that once the new radio is updated, you can't go back.
If I am currently running Froyo 2.2 with version 2 radio, can I just RUU, then run Unrevoked to restore root, and then restore my nand backup to go back to were I was before I started, which was Eclair 2.1 rooted with v1 radio???
No speculation please. I want to know if this is possible. Preferably from a dev or someone who has done this successfully.
Thanks in advance!
You're making this way too complex (RUU, etc.). Just nandroid back and you're good.
Will nandroid also downgrade the radio??

No.
No.
No.
No.

The OP stated that he wanted to go back to V1 of the radio. So if a nandroid restore won't downgrade the radio, then what options are there?
I believe this is what you are looking for.

My question is... if you do this Froyo 2.2 as in the developement area, because your phone is rooted when you are done, I don't think you will be able to get any further updates until you un-root. So do we have to revert all the way back to 2.1 or radio version 1?
I think I'll wait.

No, the OP stated that he'd "heard somewhere" that he needed to go back to V1 of the radio. I said he was making it too complex, just nandroid restore.
Really, it's that simple.
I forgot to nandroid after unrooting and installing the 2.1 ota leak. I am now rooted with the 2.1 ota leak and flashed the froyo leak. How would I go about getting back to stock?
So if we had previous 2.1 nandroid backups we can just restrore those? (while leaving the new HBOOT and radio of course)
I just want to be clear.

[Q] Returning to 2.1

I love the new 2.2 Froyo. I'm currently running Ava V3RevA. I need to return to 2.1 though. Slingplayer Mobile isn't available in the 2.2 Marketplace, and I want to save it to Titanium backup then return to 2.2. I have Nandriod backups (from 2.1) and OMJ still on my sd card. When I restored a nandriod, the market was the exact same as the 2.2. Is this because I flashed the radios and the wimax?
Will I need to go back to the old radios? Or should I just try to flash OMJ? I havent tried that yet.

That is really weird. Go into Settings>About Phone>Software and see if you really are on 2.1. If you restored the nandroid properly, it should have downgraded your Rom and changed your market back to the old version.
Thanks, I'll retry.
I tried again, with no luck. Oh well. I tried to be good and pay for it. I just d/l the free version and it's working great. I guess that $30 will go to a donation for Ava.

[Q] NAND Backup Question

Hello
Im new to posting, but not new to the forums. I read this forums daily. I would like to take this time to say thank you to the whole community, I personally have benefited from all the custom roms and tutorials.
I have a question:
I was on 2.1 rooted and decided I was going to unlock my nand and get Fresh Evo rooted 2.2 rom (which is amazing by the way) so I did a NAND backup before starting the process of unlocking my nand and flashing the Fresh 2.2 evo rom. Now that I am on the 2.2 Fresh Evo rom I would like to restore my 2.1 nand backup to take a look at some important data on there, after restoring that backup can I come back to a backed up nand of 2.2 Fresh Evo rooted rom without having any problems?
Simply, can I go from 2.2 rooted to a NAND backup of 2.1 rooted stock, then come back to my 2.2 FreshEvo rom?
I appreciate the help!
Thanks

why wouldn't you be able to? just make a nand of the freshevo rom
EDIT:
<--- NOOB AS WELL
Yes you can. I keep a Nandroid of Rooted 2.1 Stock, Rooted 2.2 Stock, and my latest CM6 Nightly that works handy at all times.
Thanks!
So just simple restores will do it when switching? No need for cache wipes or anything?

[Q] Question about Nandroid

I am going to root my desire and was wondering about nandroid backup. Does it do a backup of my stock rooted rom AND radio or just the rom.
I´m thinking because if I try a custom rom I have to use the specific radio for that rom. And if I then go back to my stock rooted rom with my nandroid backup maybe it needs the "stock" radio...
Nandroid backups everything but ro make sure get Titanium back up free from android market
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
there are no 'specific' radio's for different roms, only if you use any froyo roms will you will need to update the radio to a higher version compared to stock.
If you want to revert to stock you can choose to either keep the updated radio or flash an older version.
thanks for answers

Won't Boot after flashing Myn's

So this is the story.
For one reason or another, messing around with Titanium I lost com.htc.dialer.
I wanted to replace it so I flashed the PC36IMG from root and started the whole rooting guide again, keeping AR v1.8.
Then following the guide, I flashed another PC36IMG which is SprintLover's Rom.
Everything works fine now except that whenever I try to flash Myn's Rom again, or any other rom, it just freezes at the splash screen.
the only way I get back is by restoring the NAND backup I did of Sprint Lovers. Not even the NAND I did of Myn or any other Rom works.
I've been pulling my hair out for this one but I can't seem to figure it out.
Android Version - 2.2
Baseband - 2.15.00.11.19
Kernel Version - [email protected] #15
Build - 3.70.651.1. CL294884 release-keys
Software - 3.70.651.1
PRI-1.90_003
PRL - 60662
Thanks!
BTW if this turns out to be something I missed on the search and it was something really easy...don't flame me that much xD
I was getting the same problem, until I flash fresh and got it to work, i think the problem was our current PRI doesn't match MYN 3.3 software since that PRI version came out with the 3.7 software which is what fresh is based off of

That is correct. Also, I believe in regards to RLS4, that the htc #17 kernel that it comes with is NOT compatible with the newest radio (which you have) Best way around that is to flash a custom kernel, pretty much any one of nets, ziggys, or ms's sbc kernels. So I would try downgrading your PRI to 1.77, flash RLS4, then while still in recovery, flash the kernel. It should work then.
The other option is to wait for RLS5, which should be out relatively soon. That is based on the 3.70 software, and your current radios and PRI will be needed to run with RLS5 anyways. Good luck, and by the way, it's worth it. Myn's ROM is, in my opinion, by far the best sense ROM.
if you flash a custom kernel after flashing myn's ROM, then reboot. you will be fine. stock HTC#17(stock kernel on RLS4) does not play well with PRI 1.90.
-or-
just wait a few more days for final version of RLS5 to come out based on the latest OTA (3.70)....
Thanks everyone =D
I flashed CM6.1 for now after flashing the Eng Hbootand I'll just wait for RL5. It was such a hassle having a half broken phone on my first day back to University with no PC to hook up and change the files...not going to play around with it till the weekend xD
