If it is out, then all is well, people got the random predictions for the 6th correct.
Also seems strange to update the SDK and roll out the update on the same day. Or is that just me?

Exactly my point. They say its 'rolling out' with no screenshots/zips like there usually is for firmware updates. Ridiculous.

Have you actually had a look in the thread though? Both threads titled Gingerbread System Dump (or something similar to that) are utter BS. Theyre both SDK dumps, not the system.
Anyone else feeling deja vu? Very similar to the whole FroYo hype. And all other firmware update hypes for that matter.
Lets just wait. When an actual dump arrives, them we can get excited, but today is just a GB SDK update, and no actual system updates AFAIK.

Good news for anyone involved with tinkering around with software for the venerable HTC Desire. In accordance with open source rules, HTC has just released the kernel source code for the device's Gingerbread update, which was offered as an optional RUU for GSM Desires back in August. The move follows the release of a slew of other source code for more recent devices over the weekend, and should help out anyone involved with the lively Desire custom ROM scene.

Aren't our devs already aware that gingerbread kernel for desire has been released sometime in Mid October along with few other kernels.

I was messing with some URL tests for the next RDF and I don't get a 404 on http://device.sprintpcs.com/Samsung/SPH-D710/FC02.rdf ??? Maybe nothing but with the amount of updates we have seen it makes me wonder if another is coming...

Weird lol. Fc02 would be tomorrow. We'll find out soon what's up.

FC02 is just a build day for a new ROM nothing more.

No, there are already ICS leaks (check development forum), and you have already been presented with the entirety of the knowledge of FC02. It's just a blank mock up page, so we know nothing about it. Well, nothing except the fact that the webmaster thinks there will be an FC02.

No ETA, except it will be released when all the bugs are worked out. Could be a week, could be two months. No real benefit in even thinking about it yet.

hahaha easy said on being patient, i've been searching all over the net to find the update date for some reason i dont feel like rooting my current phone, guess i'm not confident enough whether it would work properly

You won't find one for this phone right now. And if you do happen to find a release date it's going to be for the International version of the phone only since they will get the update before us. Like I said be patient if you chose not to be and flash something that's not for this phone welcome to brick city. It pays to wait it out just be happy that it's being worked on and it will get here sooner then most people think.

i LOVE reading page source and URL fiddling (on all sorts of websites), you can find lots of fun stuff if you know how to read it.
(example, and I know this is totally OT: one of my favorite artists, Jose Parla, makes it terribly hard to find "better resolution" versions of his images online, and I have been wanting them for ages. (If you are into graffiti at all, check him out!)
If you go to his site, heavy Flash embeds, slow as **** to load, and the images are tough to get at. www.joseparla.com
but with a little source viewing, a little URL fiddling, was able to find this: www.joseparla.com/parlaweb/node/111
now I have all of my fave paintings as a rotating desktop theme. wheee!)

Its almost a 2 month when rumors came Note 2 will get 4.2 soon.
How soon no idea.
And then it means after 4.2 it will take more 7-8 months for next update (Key Lime Pie).
