i need help tp install the radio 2 my g2 any help?
I'm assuming you are rooted and S-OFF.
The easiest way to do it is with a PC10IMG.zip. you download the radio you want, place on the root of your SD card rename the file so it only say PC10IMG.zip and then reboot into bootloader.
All the radios and more info can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970809
Why do you need to change the radio? The general info is if it ain't broke don't try to fix it.

Why do you want to flash the radio? Unless you are having a specific reception or battery issue, I wouldn't mess with it.

Ok, rather than create a new thread, figured I would tag onto this, but I am little further ahead than the original poster.
Hope he paid someone to help him.
Me? Would rather keep hitting my head against the wall. Eventually the wall will fall. Hah!!
For all of the fun, dare you to look at this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=958475&page=44 Post #440. It's funny, but it's not.
Anyway see the photo attached / below? Eng HBOOT done. Root done. CID done. Flashed 10x more ROMs in 2 days than I have had sleep in those 2 days.
But, any thoughts?
Thanks, malloy0

Get rom manger. Select install rom from sd card....then flash the radio....make sure its compatible so your next post doesnt start with "my phone wont boot plz help"

Its not recommended to install radios with recovery. If you check the radio thread in the dev forum, it gives you step by step install instructions.

What is wrong with your current radio? You said if you don't like it can you flash back wich tells me nothing is wrong. Don't flash a radio unless your current one is giving you an issue plain and simple

if you have s-off and have sdk/adb you can fastboot flash Safest way to flash radios,
if not there are PCIMG radio that you can flash through bootloader, and yes if you dont like the outcome of it you flash your original radio back
How do u check if u have adb/sdk

The PCIMGs as well radio.imgs
radio.imgs are for fastboot flash
PCIMG are for bootloader flash
need engineering hboot to use radio .img files
use the PC10IMG.zip method to flash your radio via stock hboot, easier in my opinion. Just make sure u rooted with gfree and superCID is set to 11111111.
Read this if you need to check what your superCID is set to
In all honesty tho, while im all for people who want to learn how to tweak their own devices, if you dont know what adb/sdk is, or you dont know what HBOOT or gfree is, you shouldnt be messing with your radio. I foresee a brick

Lol if dont know what sdk/adb should be or have root, but gotta start somewhere,
and CID doesn't have to be at 11111 if jus unlucky few need it, as well its better recommended to have but not really a necessary thing, i dont have CID set, was able to flash PCIMG

Before flashing a radio I highly suggest you call you carrier first and see if its something they can't fix if the issue is data. Make sure you know what speeds your area is capable of as well. But as mentioned before this if you don't know what these key terms are don't mess with it untill you read up and are confident.
I know what I'm doing but I usually check with my provider first to make sure nothings up with the network. You know part of your cell phone bill includes "free support" right..use it
dont send me pm's crying about how i hurt your feelings in a thread

if you have the zip image flashable with clockwork mod u can... browse in the Desire hd radio thread...
but i do not recommend to you flash any radio from recovery... its not A safety mode....
use fastboot commander tool or flash it via adb of the sdk
take the radio thread link... and read the 2# post

TAKE THE FASTBOOT COMMANDER TOOL link... flash radios with CWM its not a good idea... it´s old method ;D

I'd recommend the method from this thread instead as it's for the DHD and not Inspire: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054304 You don't have to use command prompt (adb push blablabla...) to get it on your sdcard, just copy it to your sdcard anyway you like (or download it to your phone and move it to the root of your sdcard) but remember to check md5sum!
I think its not blablabla,
there are many opinions about how to flash... Ihere are 3 or ..4,methods ro flash radios... Now he can choose one of them.. THIS IS THE REALLY IMPORTANT

You must have misundestood me, the OP was asking for a method to flash radio without a computer and the thread marsdta suggested is from the Inspire 4G forum. I atleast want to be 100% sure that the method used to flash the radio works on the DHD, as flashing the radio is one of the few ways to brick your phone if it goes wrong.
The thread that I suggested uses adb to move the zip-file from the computer to the phone, which isn't necessary. You can just download it straight to your phone or drag and drop it from your computer and move it to the root of your sdcard. I wrote the "adb push blablabla" just to show what I'm talking about and because I thought it was unnecessary to copy the entire command lines, no depreciation was meant.
Maybe we are talking of different things... Sorry if i offensed you... when i arrive to my house I'm going to edit the post for not create confussion...

I posted the link for the inspire thread because I was in it prior to posting here. In the thread the links were to the dhd radios. I found it easier for a quick response to post it. So apologies if I added to the confusion. But flashing for the dhd and inspire are the same as they basically the same phone.

Your find that is an incorrect statement, DHD as a back Radio, in case something goes wrong with flashing a new Radio.

Yes I know some people have thought of the possibility, but I haven't seen anyone confirm it? Except the story where leith flashed the wrong radio, but if he had let it boot normally how knows what would've happened. You still can brick your device by flashing a corrupted radio or by pulling the usb-cable/battery out during the process or are you willing to try it and prove me wrong?

Alright, well in that case But I still would recommend people to be sure they do it right (the radio flashing guides also tell the same story) just in case and be aware that there is a small chance. Maybe some people have just been lucky.

Is your phone rooted? S-Off?
Flashed the latest H-Boot?
If not do that first
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wik...sion#Rooting_the_Vision_.28G2.2FDZ.29_and_DHD
Follow that guide and then http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970809
That has the radios, I didn't flash using the first method, I just did fastboot flash radio radio.img so I'd suggest downloading the img file, imo it's easier but just follow that guide.

I seriously wish people what stop doing what is quoted above.
To the author of this thread if you don't know about the radio don't mess with it. Its a lot more serious than flashing a rom or a zip. If your phone makes calls/text both sms and mms/ and your speeds are where they should be (and when I say should be, I mean you ran speed tests on your phone and then after contacted your service provider and they verified it was nothing on their end), then you should consider flashing a radio. Only after you get a better understanding of a radio. You can take this however you want to, but I'm not being mean I'm potentionally preventing another post about a "bricked" phone.

In theory, you could just follow part in the G2/DZ wiki that refers to installing the hboot. You flash using adb or terminal emulator.

You think if i wanted to unroot i would be able to with the dz hboot
No matter which eng hboot you have your still going to need the hboot your phone shipped with. I have never really read the unrooting guides but I would imagine that one of the steps would be flashing the original hboot

Read the CyanogenMod Wiki.
If we could get a definitive topic (like this one) that just laid out exactly how to return to your correct hboot WITHOUT unrooting and all that crap, i know lots of people would be happy. I know i know the directions are buried on page 4095732096578 in some topic, but a dedicated thread with exact directions on how to return a g2 to the g2 eng hboot (WITHOUT UNROOTING AND FLASHING FULL PC10IMG'S) would make alot of people happy, and less weary about flashing the new roms we are getting. Just my 2 cents that aint worth ****.
