yup bro i wiped data/cache, and also wiped dalvik cache, after that i installed rom, and through clockworkmod, not through rom manager
You might of just got a bad download, try downloading again.
Have you used superwipe. Might worth giving it a try and reflash the desire s rom. Get it from here http://db.tt/7xNYpFp

OK BRO..THANX FOR YOUR HELP...Right now device is at home...will re-download, and get back to you, my device is S-OFF, So using superwipe will not affect that? or i will have to re-root? give me the link of a guide for using superwipe if possible...once again thanks alot for your attempt to sort out my problem...
Superwipe won't remove s-off. Check out the origianl thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044992
It is a really good tool, I use everytime I switch roms and it does seem to make a difference.

i just flashed it again. i installed insertcoin sense again. and then i boot in cmw recovery, wipe data and did'nt wiped dalvik cache, and then installed desire s g2 port again, but still same, device booted and lock screen came up on first boot like every rom. but when i unloke screen, htc logo appeared and home screen did'nt loaded, now i am downloading again, but i am very unsure it will work, if zip file would have been damaged due to bad download, why its opening properly, anyhow 75mb downloaded so far, lets see
@cjward23: As per your instruction, i downloaded it again and also used your superwipe to wipe data/cache..and then installed desire s g2 port, but still having same issue, phone booted up properly with my network logo appeared as well, but when i unlock screen, it shown htc logo, actualy all roms show it, but within 5 minutes i see htc setup like time zone, google accounts etc, but this desire s didnt, it just stucked to that htc logo like its installing something, but no setup appears, this time i waited for 10 minutes, but no change...so far i get back to insertcoin sense/gingerbread 1.4, which is working properly as usual...actualy i just need fm radio...can you help me geting fm radio on insertcoin rom?

Have u factory reset cleared cache and also cleared dalvik?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Alright..
Firstly, reboot into recovery and wipe full data & the dalvik cache.
Second, flash a rom to which your device fulfills all requirements (eg. not D2EXT, D++)
Third, restart your device after installing the ROM.
Fourth, WAIT!!!!! if it doesnt boot after like 15 minutes then something has gone wrong somewhere.
Just to make things easy to start with, you should try using a rom that doesn't require an ext2/3/4 partition and just uses fat. Unless you are confident you can do that correctly.

Seriously, you should do a little reading tutirials and guides on flashing.
You cannot flash a ROM with a different base on top of another - that's why the bootloops. (E.g. Flashing DHDport on top of Stock Rooted or GB on FROYO won't work without wiping).
Secondly, it is wiped it - ergo FORMATTED it, the ext partition is still there.

I understand that i have to see which radio can work with?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Listen, everybody's here to help each other. It's what we android users do.
A little of "Please", and "thank you very much", "you guys are great"... goes a long way...
As for the radio, the easiest would have been, to upgrade your stock system to Froyo 2.29 before running the ROM.
Stock, before a custom ROM. This would probably avoid any radio problems.
If your phone is working and you have no issues, then you shouldn't worry about it.
Some people, get a little angry, when the same problem happens over and over again, and there are posts to cover these problems.
But, I think most of us, will jump right in, and give a hand to those who ask politely. And give a big thanks, when the issue is fixed.
Oh, and all ROMs are not created to work with Desire...
Okay, so after rooting my G2 I decided to flash this rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1012763
Now after I used Rom Manager, I checked the back up etc.
After it backuped it installed the new Rom, at the moment I am at the HTC screen and it keeps rebooting not sure what it's doing exactly.
Shows HTC screen, after a few mins, it turns black plays the HTC sound and shows the HTC splash page again.
What to do?
Boot into recovery and wipe cache/data.

And if that doesent work try to flash the rom again.
I ran the adb command to go into recovery, then restored it from a back up I made.
Going to try another ROM, thanks guys!
Does anyone have MSN?
I flashed cyanogen, but it has the same issue, the splash screen comes up then dissapers and the cynaogen screen comes back again.
What to do? Is there something wrong with my phone?
You didn't have to restore your backup.
If you had wiped the /cache and /data partitions, everything would have been fine. There is nothing wrong with with your phone.

This may be a ROM manager that produce this boot loops, Skip rommanger . Boot into recovery -power-wolume down . Navigate to recovery . Chose wipe data/ factory reset. Then wipe cache and /data partitions, flash cm7 and gapps.
First off let your phone sit for 20 minutes after installing a new rom. The first boot takes a good long time. If after 20 min it doesnt start then come post about it. Make sure you post exactly what screen comes up when it reboots ect.

Cleared the data and cache all is fine now, thanks!
Have a side question about overclocking, how do I do it and what's the recommended amount?
Depending on the ROM's install a kernel
You have a lot of options. It's not necessary but if you still want to first install the app 'setcpu' or 'cputuner' and then download a kernel and flash it the same way that you flashed the ROM's. Best of luck!
Which rom did you end up flashing? A lot of them come overclocked. As the above person posted you will need one of those apps anyway.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I used the one on the main post, seems that SetCPU is not free.
Downloading CPUTuner..
With only reading the heading of that rom i would assume there is no OC built in as it is untouched. You will need to flash a kernel for sure to OC. I cant recomend any for that rom as i have never used it.

If you're still using the ROM in your OP, I don't think there are over-clockable Sense Gingerbread kernels yet.
Hello guys (and girls)
I have a really big issue here.... I used alpharevX to s-OFF my Wildfire, after succeeding I rooted my phone, also worked. Downloaded clockworkmod and then I'd try to install cyanogenmod 7.0.0. but the picture with the android on the skateboard was in a loop for a few hours.. (lol). I'd tryed some things in recovery mode, but now everytime I reboot, I'm stuck in the hboot! Have I bricked my phone now?
I have vodafone
If you could help me, I would appreciate it big time!
Nope. Not bricked.
Guess u didn't make a factory reset / data wipe before installing cm7.
And lol. How did u wait for hours. I would have just pulled out the battery.
Make factory reset and data wipe and reinstall cm7. Hope it solves

Try flashing a different rom?
And why the heck did you get CM7 7.0.0, we're on 7.0.3 in stable builds
Even didn't get u clearly. Maybe are u talking about android picture in recovery mode.
If so, u should use trackpad to select options in recovery. Pressing power button will give u back options and sometimes that picture. Re-pressing the power button gets rid of that picture.

Cyanogenmod 7.0.0. had the most downloads so i tought it was the most secure one.., first time rooting here!

He's right.
You should download 7.0.3
In other things, you should wipe everything and have a factory reset of data.
Then go to partitions menu and manually format /system /boot....
and then try installing the CM7 zip.
See if that helps.
Am installing the newest cm7 now!
I'm curious

You can use roms on wildfire S forum..

I have posted this in the General section, however i think it should be here...
I'm updating a HTC Desire for a family member, the last rom installed was a villain 2.4 rom (it's been a while). I've updated the radio to the latest version ending in .23 and tried to flash the latest RunnymedeMod007, this is where I've encountered the problem. Im stuck on the opening HTC boot screen. And don't understand why, there's no reason for the freeze as far as i know. Should also note I've cleared every cache and wiped.
The second issue is that when there is a rom installed, the camera doesn't load and force closes.
Does anyone out there have any ideas why I've got these problems and could you help me out?
Cheers

Hi everybody,
last Thursday my phone had a boot loop, so I've decided to change the ROM.
I flashed my HTC Desire with Runny ROM 6.1.1 and since that time my camera doesn't work, flash either.
When I try to start camera app there is only black screen and phone restarts in 10 seconds.
I was trying with other ROM and official GB, but camera is simply dead.
Is there anything that I can do with it? Install some fix or update?
I have latest radio and cm7/r2 hboot.
Any ideas?
Do u test it by installing any camera app from play store?
with many apps but still the same effect
Try installing an AOSP build and check your result....what caused your phone boot loop?
Did you do a full wipe?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA
What is AOSP?
Yes, I did full wipe and build the partitions on sd-card from scratch.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA
AOSP is an original android rom, without HTC Sense or any other interface.(like sandvold's ics)

I don't know what caused boot loop, but I've tried cache and dalvik wipe, without success.
I will try later to flash some AOSP ROM and write here the results. Anyway I've tried already to flash RUU Gingerbread and camera was dead.
There's still no camera on AOSP Sandvolds ICS.
I think that I will disassemble my Desire and check the connections.
Wipe everything.
Boot, system, data, cache, dalvik. Then flash the ROM again. Wiping everything before flashing should be standard procedure for you.
I did it 3 or 4 times in a row. Nothing changed.

Hardware problem, try with connectors, but I think that you'll need a camera replacement.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA
ok, I disassembled my phone and checked all connections. Camera still doesn't work, but phone don't switch off when I try to execute camera app.
I will try one more time to do something with software.
Hi guys, ich disassembled my Desire one more time and guess what. There was one contanc loose. On the lower main board the left board-to-board connector. I put it into the socket and now everything works perfectly!
Anyway thank for your tipps guys!
