Extended battery Door color - Droid X Accessories

Just got an extended battery for my X2, and the battery door does not match, its grey, whereas the X2 door is black. Is the original X more grey than the X2?

Now that the x2 is officially released verizon carries an extended kit for the
X2 in the correct color with x2 branding. They exchanged the old one no problem

Were you able to get a cover for the X2 at your local Verizon Store? Or did you have to go through VerizonWireless.com?
I just received my battery with the wrong colored cover, but when I called customer service they tried assuring me it was the only cover available for the extended battery.

I would bring it to a retail store and have them swap it out. It seems like they sent you the older model.

Yes, they apparently don't have the battery for the X2 on the VerizonWireless site, or it's not easily found. When I contacted them through email, they sent the X2 battery with instructions to return the original X battery (No separate battery doors are available).

It is the SAME door as the Vibrant (1st gen)....just painted. I took my girl's 4g door and battery when it was launched.
It is plastic and cheaper than the OG vibrant's back--sprayed poorly.
I bought a similar one on eBay for $8.50.

DX2 Accessory Compatibility?

Just wondering if anyone heard any word on if we'll be able to use all our accessories from the X with the X2? I am particularly interested in know if the case's, extended battery, and cardock will work. They appear to be very close in physical size.
The DX2 has almost exactly the same form factor as the DX. That means all cases and car docks will fit and just try the battery and see what happens, worst thing that could happen is it not boot
hey just wanted to let you know that i have a DX2 and yes everything from the DX fits the same.

Is the battery door exactly the same? I curious because if I get the DX2 I wanna get the powermat door.
All of the accessories will work, including the extended battery. Actually, the stock battery door is "ever so slightly" more outward than the original X door. With a "very" minor tweak to the door legs using some needle-nose pliers, I'm able to use my extended battery from my original X without having to use the extended battery door, and there isn't the pressure on the phone that the original X had when doing that (that caused the screen distortion problems). The door stays locked firm, but doesn't require any real force to open or close it that would cause worry about the battery being squeezed in too much. So now I have a stock looking X2 with the extended battery.
All the accessories work, but the battery covers do not match in color. I just purchased the extended battery, and the door on the X2 is black (like the rest of the phone) But the extended battery door is more grey. Im assuming the original X was this color. Hope they make a new door that matches the X2 Black Color

No need for it. Just *ever so slightly* bend the door arms outward.. we're talking like 1/4 of a millimeter, they *barely* need an adjustment. Then you can use the stock door with the extended battery. The stock door on the DX2 is slightly more outward than the stock DX1 door, so with the extra little help there isn't any pressure problems on the battery.

Good to know. For 30 seconds of my time, I'm running the stock cover with the exact same battery that they're selling now, without the extra hump, and for no extra money. Been a week now, still no screen problems. That little bit of extra room in the X2 stock cover, plus the little bit of leg coaxing, has given me a stock DX2 with the extra bit of juice. One of the few things I've liked about the DX2.
Not sure if this deal is still available but BGR reported a couple of days ago that for the DX2's launch week, the Droid X/X2 Essentials Pack (multimedia dock, car dock, car charger, longer wall charger, and HDMI cable) was available for $19.97 online. Purchased separately, those accesories would run you $145, so it's a pretty good deal for current DX owners. I ordered one and it's getting delivered today. Just an FYI for DX owners looking to save a buck or 125. :-D
I also ordered this and received it last week, fantastic deal, I already had a cardock so now I have one for each of my vehicles.

VZW Extended battery

I was looking around on verizonwireless.com and couldn't find any extended battery's for the Gnex. I know they sell them, so I talked to a rep on the chat, and they said they didn't. Does anyone have a part number that I can reference?
Edit 1: After searching around it looks like SAMI515BATX is that part number. I only wonder why they stopped carrying them already
i believe the extended battery is aftermarket

nope verizon sells them too.
Try calling a local store. That is where I bought mine.

I couldn't find it on VZW site either so, I just went to the store.
I bought mine from their website right before they sold out for $25. For some reason when they sell out, they completely remove it from the site.
If you call your local store, they may have one or they could order one for you and you pick it up there.

It is made by Samsung.
I was just in my local Verizon store and they had some available. I am talking about the Samsung extended battery not a third party one.
Be warned that with the extended battery and extended battery cover, the back cover creaks if you push on it and also creaks when pushed down on a table. (This is worse than with the standard battery cover. I also have a volume rocker that rattles. Overall I am not impressed with the build quality of these phones but I will stay with it for the software.)
I bought the extended battery right from Samsung - Verizon was sold out.
I don't notice any creaking or squeaking from the extended battery door at all.

Hate to be "that guy", but mine doesn't creak. I remember on the Droid 1 there were some battery cover issues and they were fixed by simply putting a small folded piece of paper between the battery and the cover. The number of folds were determined via trial and error.
Good luck.
I don't want to sound like a damper, but I just bought a Nexus off WireFly and am not sure an extra 250 MiH is worth $25? What are your perceptions/experiences?
Is it likely Verizonwireless.com will restock? I want to buy one but I can't find it anywhere for $25. The local VZW stores are charging full retail $50 I'm sure right?

I do not experience any creaking whatsoever with my extended battery and cover.

I did not use the standard battery all that long but from the week on the standard battery and going to the extended, on average I got an extra 1/4 of a day out of it. Also, I mainly stayed on the 3G on the standard battery but leave LTE on all the time on the extended.

I tried to complain to the store about it and see if I could get another that was more solid and they claimed that they all did it. (Probably just too lazy to try another one.) So I ended up using a small rectangle of fabric below the camera to make it feel solid.

I always get extra batteries for my phones just incase, ill keep one fully charged in the car, so for $20(corp discount) it was a steal. both battery doors, standard or extended do not creak on mine nor do my volume keys rattle.

Fake OEM battery

I purchased the battery from an amazon retailer. They said it was an item battery. Same part number and the pictures were identical to my battery.
When I got the battery and I compared it to the original one and they were identical in all ways. Except the replacement battery has a little white sticker in a recessed area on the top.
Well turns out, the battery was a fake. NFC doesn't work. I contacted the seller and they refunded the purchase.
The seller informed me that his source swore to him they were legit.
Fyi
Out of curiosity, how much did you pay for this and how well did the battery perform?
While I can't for sure say whether that battery is fake or not, I can say that the little white sticker that is recessed on the top next to the contacts is a liquid damage sensor. It comes on all brand new batteries and will turn red/pink if you get it wet. HTC and Motorola use stickers that are white with a pink cross-hatch design on the battery but Samsung uses a solid white one.

I beg to differ. All 6 OEM Sammy batteries I've handled had red x's on the water damage stickers (indeed located in the recess that was mentioned in the OP).
However, I should note that my batteries are for the Verizon version, but a Samsung nonetheless.
Can you post a link or the seller name so we can avoid buying the fake ones?
