VZW Extended battery - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I was looking around on verizonwireless.com and couldn't find any extended battery's for the Gnex. I know they sell them, so I talked to a rep on the chat, and they said they didn't. Does anyone have a part number that I can reference?
Edit 1: After searching around it looks like SAMI515BATX is that part number. I only wonder why they stopped carrying them already

i believe the extended battery is aftermarket

nope verizon sells them too.

Try calling a local store. That is where I bought mine.

I couldn't find it on VZW site either so, I just went to the store.

I bought mine from their website right before they sold out for $25. For some reason when they sell out, they completely remove it from the site.
If you call your local store, they may have one or they could order one for you and you pick it up there.

It is made by Samsung.

I was just in my local Verizon store and they had some available. I am talking about the Samsung extended battery not a third party one.
Be warned that with the extended battery and extended battery cover, the back cover creaks if you push on it and also creaks when pushed down on a table. (This is worse than with the standard battery cover. I also have a volume rocker that rattles. Overall I am not impressed with the build quality of these phones but I will stay with it for the software.)

I bought the extended battery right from Samsung - Verizon was sold out.
I don't notice any creaking or squeaking from the extended battery door at all.

Hate to be "that guy", but mine doesn't creak. I remember on the Droid 1 there were some battery cover issues and they were fixed by simply putting a small folded piece of paper between the battery and the cover. The number of folds were determined via trial and error.
Good luck.

I don't want to sound like a damper, but I just bought a Nexus off WireFly and am not sure an extra 250 MiH is worth $25? What are your perceptions/experiences?

Is it likely Verizonwireless.com will restock? I want to buy one but I can't find it anywhere for $25. The local VZW stores are charging full retail $50 I'm sure right?

I did not use the standard battery all that long but from the week on the standard battery and going to the extended, on average I got an extra 1/4 of a day out of it. Also, I mainly stayed on the 3G on the standard battery but leave LTE on all the time on the extended.

I tried to complain to the store about it and see if I could get another that was more solid and they claimed that they all did it. (Probably just too lazy to try another one.) So I ended up using a small rectangle of fabric below the camera to make it feel solid.

I always get extra batteries for my phones just incase, ill keep one fully charged in the car, so for $20(corp discount) it was a steal. both battery doors, standard or extended do not creak on mine nor do my volume keys rattle.

Who has extended batteries and can we get pictures?

I am thinking about getting an extended battery for my Vibrant, specifically this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/3500mAh-Battery-w-Back-Cover-Samsung-Vibrant-T959-/280576737493. Now, I was wondering if I could get feedback from owners for extended batteries:
Which one did you get?
What is the quality -- how long does it last you?
Can you provide pics of how much fatter it made your phone?
Thanks!

Extended battery with Clear Protector for entire phone
Use this and your battery life more than doubles. It is very comfortable, rubberized coating, and the battery rocks. The door is quite thin considering and fits comfortably in the hand. They are also going to make custom clear protectors for the entire phone and have them up for sale within 2 weeks.

Yes. About 3.5 times the cost of a typical OEM 1500mAh battery but it's not like there is much competition at size. If they produced them on a scale closer to Samsung's own, they'd possibly be cheaper.
I've also seen the cheap non OEM batteries not even charge all the way up to their advertised capacity and then their efficiency is also worse than the OEM battery. I've also seen many Vibrants busted by using cheap batteries. They've overheated, exploded or caused component failures before exploding.
At least OEM batteries perform as expected for the most part. Anyone done any or seen any performance tests done on these Mugen batteries? I'd expect them to at least perform as advertised given the price. I might actually consider getting one of these even though it costs more than what I paid for the phone itself! LOL
If you don't buy direct, you can find the Mugen one online for less than $100.

Just an update with my Cheap Knockoff battery LOL. Its been running great with no leaks, no overheating or anything. its the 2800mah extended battery. Ive been getting 2+days with the battery. Thats with 3g on always, screen at brightest level and streaming slacker/pandora a couple hours a day. Please dont be scared to order one of the cheap batteries, they actually do work. Im just a cheapo that perfers grocery store brands vs the Big Name brands.

Can you please post some pics of your phone with new back plate on? Maybe next to a pencil or another common object for comparison?
Thank you.
I would like to see something better comparison wise than a lighter, I really want to be able to keep on 3g all day and get most of a days charge.. I have to keep off 3g, bluetooth, gps all the time to get 17+ hours out of my phone.. and heaven forbid I use google maps or something.
Don't get me wrong, my phone is awesome, I am used to having to keep things like 3g off to have enough battery, but it would be nice to be able to USE the phone without fear of it dying too early..

Already got mine from VZW, but if these are real (he states OEM, so if it's not he is violating eBay policy) it's a deal you can't really pass up if you want the extra battery life.
**NOTICE** Users have found out that, while the actualy battery in this auction is the OEM HTC 2750, the battery door is a cheap knockoff. It is a solid black battery door that does not fit on easily. The seller is offering a $4 refund to anyone who purchased.
I would get the refund, try demanding for more, and then be sure to report the listing to eBay also.
EDIT #2 The listing has been taken down.
Wow, good find. I just ordered one. Thanks
Just bought one, any easy way to verify authentic vs knockoffs?

I got one. Don't get it, the battery is legitimate but the door is a plain black door and not the HTC door. It works but it doesn't for my active extended case.

My battery door doesn't even snap in place. The seller offered me a $4 refund but my request was for a replacement door. I couldn't even find a replacement door online for less than $10.
Same here. It feels like it will break but put the bottom 3 tabs in first and gently push down around the sides and it should go on.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
After a few email exchanges between myself and the seller, I opened a case on eBay. He/she refused to refund more than $4 and refused a return. The cheapest authentic cover I could find was $18.00.
At this point I will just go to the Verizon store and pick one up.
Just how much of a difference does the extended battery makes? I mean it is worth $50?
It is to me, on a normal workday my phones go from fully charged to nearly dead within 3-4 hours. I carry around a spare battery for my Galaxy S but with my Thunderbolt this extended battery has gone all day and then some.
Granted my usage isn't the norm by any means but it greatly extended my time between charges.

Battery for HSPA+ version of the Galaxy Nexus

So, anyone know where I can get the official battery, preferably one that comes with the battery charger? Regular and extended applies to the question.
Bumping this to see if anyone has any updated information on it.
alot of the galaxy nexus batteries on ebay seem to originate in Hong Kong. since I will be going there next week, i'll be on a lookout for both official as well as non official batteries
(i feel like the difference between the official and nonofficial batteries is just the Samsung logo slapped on. I feel that the all the cases and batteries on ebay all originated from the same factory as casemate cases and other batteries etc etc.)

Well, I would assume they would be? I mean, chances are pretty high anyway because the seller is from Korea and from what I know, only the Korean market has the extended battery for the GN. I'm just hoping that they come with the back cover so I don't have to hunt for one.

does anyone now how much thicker this battery is?
since the back cover is pretty flexible, i think it can work if its less then 2mm.
i really need another battery since the 1750mah battery just gets me to home and work, and i need to recharge it sometimes @ home before going out again.
BUMP!!!
I NEED a extended battery for this GSM Nexus !!
Well I knew they would pop up soon! and also was thinking maybe you could use the original back cover too, since the sensation had an extended battery and you could squeeze it in with the regular back cover! I will keep searching!
Would be great if a korean could test it, try to fit the extended battery with the standard back cover.
I messaged a user on here that said they were from Korea. He said he'd look into it if there is somewhere that we can order the battery and cover. He mentioned that the cover for the battery just fills in the bump at the bottom of the phone so that it is more flush on the back.
He also mentioned that probably there aren't a lot of places to order(or at all) since the phones there come with the battery already.
Extended battery does not fit when used with the regular back. Pictures soon, currently at work.
As for availability, definitely give it a month or so. This phone and all related accessories are just flying of the shelves. I can't even find cases here, let alone extra batteries. I also heard from another user that the Galaxy Nexus is sold out in certain cities until 2012, so that's a pretty good indication as to how long it might be.

I think it's good for folks who don't live near Verizon stores.
This does not work on sprints version. The tabs do not line up for the cover and its the wrong color

This is correct. Sprint doors and Verizon door tabs are different. Color is the same though.
I wonder if something can be done about it.
I jumped on the deal thinking it would fit, great price, and I was going away for the weekend and an extended battery would come in handy.
That being said, could it be that some of the tabs would fit in? Or is it completely different?
I might have to go to my local Verizon store in the morning and see if they have it in stock.

I just got Sprint doors in today for my business. I checked the fitting on my Verizon GNex just out of curiousity. The only difference I found is one tab on the right side that is out of alignment. Essentially you could remove that tab and have a fitting door. Granted it might be loose in that area but fit nonetheless.
EDIT: I'm sorry I just did a visual check of both doors side by side. The Verizon has 2 tabs on the middle of the right side as opposed to the Sprint version with just one placed inbetween where those 2 are located. You could remove those 2 tabs, but again you'd have a loose door in that area. Those are the only thing that make the doors different, all the other tabs are the same.

NP, I was able to pick up a battery at the store by my office, and after trimming the little plastic tabs, works fine.
For $25 it's a good deal, and will come in handy. The only sucky part is the Verizon LTE logo in the back
This was mentioned the first time these batteries went on sale but you can fit the stock battery door with the 2100 mah batteries. I'm using the stock cover on mine (vzw gn) with the extended battery. It bulges slightly but hasn't caused any problems. My incipio case fits over it as well.

Can you post some pictures of these batteries and compare them size-wise to the stock? I have a 3800 maH battery, but it is way too thick for my liking, would just like to see what the 2100 battery looks like with the cover.
I have another extended battery coming (they were back on sale over the weekend for $25 so I picked up another) and will snap a pic of it next to the stock battery when it comes in. You can't tell any difference in the phone with the stock/ext. battery since I'm using the stock door. I also picked up a Ringke slim case and it fits with the ext. battery/stock door no problem.

I just got this battery in the mail today. It is only a mm or two thicker than the stock battery. With the cover in place, it is even with the bottom of the phone versus slightly concave with the stock battery/cover. It does not at all look or feel like an "extended" battery. Not unwieldy at all.
I'm sure its not unwieldy. Does it feel different? If you weren't looking for it, could you tell? Sorry for all the questions.
Also, how does it perform? I am trying to decide whether to get a spare stock to switch out or this extended battery. Thanks.

Extra space under battery cover - is that normal?

Hi all,
I just scored a used Galaxy Nexus, Sprint version, on eBay. It seems to be in good working condition, however the battery cover is not flush against the battery. There's actually enough space there that when I shake the phone, the battery shifts up and down in its housing, clicking against the cover. Is this normal with this model, or should I quickly take advantage of the 14 day return period?
Definitely return. NOT normal.
I would GUESS you have a standard battery with a cover for an extended battery
After Googling around a bit and looking at photos of batteries, it looks like my battery may have been switched in from a different Samsung phone, possibly a Galaxy S II. I suppose I could order a Galaxy Nexus battery and hope for the best, but I think I'm going with the return option. Better luck next time, I guess.

On further examination, I think you're right. Someone helpfully posted a serious of comparison photos on the Amazon listing for the Verizon extended battery/cover combo, and the extended cover looks pretty much like mine. Now the question is do I return the phone (since standard covers don't seem to be available anywhere), or suck it up and buy a bigger (heavier) battery for this one?

Personally, I use both the stock and extended Verizon battery, but I only keep the cover of the extended battery on me. Not once have I had an issue with the smaller battery shifting out of place. I'd say you keep it if there isn't anything wrong with the phone and even ask the seller if they happen to have the stock cover lying around anywhere.

If indeed you have the stock battery with the extended cover and don't wish to buy anything extra (although i would recommend getting the extended battery for longevity reasons aswell as fit) you could opt for the primitive fix: tape a piece of paper to the inside of the cover to hold it tighter.
