Extended batteries. Which one is the most value for money?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
It depends ....please could you expand your question a little / elaborate re. which particular batteries u mean?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
LOL. Yes. Please.elaborate. Haha. I think mugen batteries are good. So are seidio. But they aren't making batteries at the moment for the sgs2.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
I would shell out for either Momax or Siedo !
I just ordered momax standard because i find mugen to be pricey. Still waiting for mugen and momax 2500mah. Ebay batteries are cheap though are they worth it? Will look at seido. Thanks

Mugen batteries for the SGS2: http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/samsung/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-i9100.html
I had extended Mugen batteries in the past and the quality is top notch, and so are the rated amps. They are not the usual cheap chinese knockoffs that last you 1/3 of what they claim. They really do last the rated amps and the capacity does not plummet with time. I still have my 3000 mAh Mugen battery for the HTC Touch Diamond and it's still going strong!
Never tried Momax or Seidio but I can vouch for Mugen. They may be a bit more pricey but you do get what you paid for.
Cheers

I vouch for Mugen too!
Had an excelent experience with the 3200mAh extended battery for SGS and I will probably buy the same one for SGS II!!!
Momax got stand in their extended back cover. And price is less than half of mugen. I can buy 3 momax 2500 mah for the price of 1 mugen. Anyone did a real use comparison with these batteries?

How many times does it last compared with stock samsung battery?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Now we 're talking about the battery for SGS, but it is useful for concusions.
So with the stock samsung battery it lasted me 1-2 days, depending on the usage.
With the Mugen 3200mAh extended battery it lasted me 2-4 days, again depending on the usage.
BUT it all depends on the usage!!!
I remember a few times with the extended batttery on, I managed to drain it off in one day with the heaviest usage I 've had!
And another time with medium to low usage it lasted 6 days!!!
So I hope that I helped you!

Hi,
I have Verizon GNex running stock JB and i like it that way.
Currently i have the original 1850mah and 2100mah battery, i've just purchased a $5 external batt charger on ebay to charge the extra battery and it's working so far.
What do most ppl. recommend/use to get through the day on GNex.
What's better among the hyperion or mugen or sieodo or should i go for external battery like Anker??
Thanks
im using hyperion 3500 and its definitely doing its job to me. ive had it for a month now

Do u have any numbers like how long it last compared to stock or 2100mah battery.
Also where did you buy it from? Hyperion 3800mah with NFC has decent reviews on amazon but only cost $20.
Do Let me know.
Thanks.

I just bought the Hyperion and cannot believe how well it works. I have been trying to cycle the battery all the way down and it has been hard to kill it in a normal day! With NFC and 3800mAh it is a great deal. I finally found a battery that will let me get through a busy day without charging.

I can get a whole day if texting chicks all day, using social network sites excluding Facebook. Make a call or three, little video gaming and some web surfing. And its incredible for WiFi tethering too.

Mugen is pretty good except finding a case which has been a pain, don't think its worth $90 I paid so try a similar one but for less $ and that has lets u use a case
Yes mugen is expensive for $90.
About the case I will try to be careful with the phone but having a case on an extended battery will only make the phone more thicker...no??
Where did u guys buy your Hyperion from?? Amazon or some other website??
Pls. Let me know thanks

Do you happen to know if it is compatible with the GT-I9250 model? And one more thing that I know it could be too much to ask,but could you please upload some pics so that we can see how much thicker it is?
Thanks a lot.
Hi,
Would be interested to know if it will fit the GT-I9250 aswell, been looking for a 3800 with NFC, darned if I can find 1 in the UK, presume these are Verizon only?
Are there ANY with NFC other than the 2000Mah for the GT-I9250 ?
The battery for international version and US Verizon i515 are different. So look for the one compatible for your phone

+1 for Hyperion 3800 mAh from Amazon. I have been having a hard time trying to kill it (battery to 0% and auto-shutoff) during break-in cycles. This thing just last a long time. Now is Sunday night and my battery is running at 4% after the last time I charged (Friday night). The Battery detail says I've had almost 6 hours of screen time (auto brightness) on it already.

The 2650 is certainly a fake. I saw those too, gold battery or something like that. I tried the Andida 2300 and got a little longer battery life but it crapped out after a month or two causing random reboots.

There is actually a 2000 mAh battery out there. I bought it myself, but as other people said, if you do the math, it only adds about an hour, so it wasn't really worth it. If you really want an extended battery, go for the ones with the extra bulk, or buy two 1800 mAh batteries to swap during the day.
How about 2500mah Galilio or 2520mah "Sporting Persistence" on ebay?

Agreed, the Anker batteries (two pack with charger for less than $20) has been great. I have been using them for about 2 months now and they are doing just fine.
I have to agree about the Anker batteries as well. Be careful about what you buy off ebay though. I bough a 3 pack of supposedly 1800mAh batteries off Ebay and they were all ****. I compared the physical size of the batteries with the oem one and they were all thinner and lighter. Get the Anker ones. I bought an Anker one about a month ago and so far it's working great.
Yeah I just unwrapped a cheap 1800mah battery I got off ebay and the markings underneath indicated its a 1500. Its also skinnier than stock.
I just picked up some EzoPower brand batteries and they appear to be real 1800. Need to give them a few more charging cycles to get a better idea.
I am looking for some good extended battery and I hope you can help me with sharing you experience with those batteries.
I need something slim not that bulky with the big batteries, I want to keep the phone size as it is so I can use my case.. These days phone without protections is...
Any extended battery is going to give you bulk.

None that I am aware of, I have never owned a gold one but there are posts around both for and against them... some say they are just a 2100 mAh with a new sticker....
I have Seidio's extended battery, along with the case for it. Outrageously expensive, but worth every penny if only because the case has saved my phone from destruction at least 6-8 times when I've dropped it onto hard floors.
It (or my phone) definitely has "moods", though... I've managed to burn through the entire extended battery in as few as 3-4 hours (!!!) a few times. If I don't semi-charge it on my desk at work, it'll usually be down to 15-30% by the time I go home, and dangerously low if it gets another 30-60 minutes of constant use somewhere while eating dinner. I wish somebody besides Seidio made a battery with the compatible dimensions... I wouldn't use a second one often enough to justify throwing down another $70, but I'd love to pick up a second one that's good enough to go for another 3-4 hours.
In case anybody's wondering, my awful battery life is mostly because I use Graffiti, and have to lock the CPU to 100% whenever the screen is on to get acceptable accuracy. It seems like every new generation of Android phones has a worse sample rate than the last, and gets more and more aggressive about trying to slow down the CPU whenever there's a soft keyboard open. (Seriously... my creaky, ancient Sprint Hero OC'ed to 712MHz had a butter-smooth high sample rate, and I could get almost 100% accuracy writing blind with my thumb. My S3 seems to have MAYBE half the sample rate, and Graffiti input when the CPU is allowed to scale down freely and some ***** app is doing realtime Ajax character-by-character queries is almost impossible.

Hi there I was looking to get a longer lasting battery than my stock one with my S3 and I am a bit of a noob - I really dont like the fat ones so would be great to get one to fit inside. Now when I was browsing I noticed this 3800 one : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3800mAh-High-Capacity-Battery-for-Samsung-Galaxy-S3-i9300-/300944750217?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4611b47689 seems great specs but I cannot find anyone thats reviewed it - seen a few posts on the 'gold' ones (and this may be one of them I think - just looks different) on ebay at 3250 and some people say there good but I am unsure which is best and if there are probelms involved? Or if they are actually better / worth getting? I.e. I see mentions of leakey batteries memory problems and NFC loss - I guess I dont mind the NFC loss is that about it? Thanks!

Yes I have searched through many places already. I guess I was hoping maybe someone had tried this particular battery. I guess I might have to assume its like a 'gold' one. A zerolemon at 2300 and anker at 2200 isnt the stock 2100? Sounds a bit pointless to get an extra 200 no? I.e. how long extra are you getting out of these?
Got a feeling this 3800 will be more like 2500 at best anyway I suppose - would be nice to know...I suppose these cheap batteries dont leak or over heat or wipe card memories - not sure why some people talk about this - not seen any reports of this.

I had been using a QCell 2100mah battery for the last 12 months as well and it worked well enough, including NFC. The QCell was no better than the stock battery at the time of purchase, hard to say if the ZeroLemon is at this point as I can't remember my old battery stats. I do miss NFC functionality with the ZeroLemon batteries but I may be the only idiot who ever actually used NFC tags anyway.
