Question for Link Facebook Profile for People Contact

I have searched in the Rhodium section for this problem, but didn't really find any solutions to my problem.
When I choose a person, edit contact information, and scroll down to the end to link facebook profile, it worked in the past.
However, yesterday, when I tried it, it gave me an error message with manila.exe. Now, everytime I click on the link Facebook, it will just show me the contacts.
Any solution to this?

I'm a newbie but have same problem facebook updates for contacts crashing everytime I use it any ideas anyone???

I was having the same problem I did a hard reset and it fixed the problem.

Same problem here. It crashes when I try to link to a Facebook account, but also immediately crashes when I visit the "all people / updates and events" tab. Hoping there's a way to fix this without a hard reset

I contacted HTC and they said that a hard reset was the solution...oh well. At least we have a solution! Right?

How is that a solution? Won't the issue just come back again? I only managed to link about 6 contacts before it broke, it may be 4 or 3 next time? :-S

[Q] People App, iNsertCoin 2.0.0

Hi all. Apologies for the noob Q, but I have been frustrated by this issue for quite a while... I have searched google and run searches here, as well as asking on a local tech forum, so I am really hoping someone can help.
The issue I have is that the People app on my Desire seems to be broken. Over the past month or so I have installed iNsertCoin 1.9.4, then 1.9.5 only to revert back to the LeeDroid ROM I was using previously, as each time the People app just wouldn't play the game. Now I am on iC2.0.0, with the same problem.
There seems to be no issue with my phone syncing from gmail and populating my Contacts list. I can see this list by tapping the Phone tab, but if I tap the People icon, the phone just sits there loading. And loading. This doesnt seem to happen with other ROMs I have used... I have wiped, reflashed, wiped and reflashed the ROM. Everything else works perfectly, except this one app. I am almost to the point of going back to LeeDroid 2.3f again, which is a shame, since I really do like this ROM.
Has anyone had any similar experiences?? Thanks in advance.

I got the same.
InsertCoin A2SD+ 1.0.8 stable. People just won't load from the "People" app, just "loading.." forever. when searching contacts with "Search People" app, the phone shows the list but when I'm clicking on a contact I get force close (The application People process com.android.htccontacts) has stopped...)
what's with that? it's a phone and all.... any fixes? like, reinstalling the people app?

hotmail sync issue in Sense (currently using RMK rom, 3.0)

I have a problem with Sense-based Roms where deleted emails on hotmail keep coming back after choosing delete. Did a google search and saw people have been having this problem for a few years but I couldn't find a fix. Does anyone know how / if there is a way to fix this? Has HTC acknowledged the bug?

That was supposed to be fixed with gb update I believe

I think rmk's ROM is based on the official GB update, and it still has the same issue unfortunately. FYI, i have the account set up under exchange/activesync. If I use a third-party email app, the issue doesn't happen, so I think it has something to do with Sense Mail.

Solution
Finally found a solution; hopefully this helps someone else:
1) Delete the account on phone
2) Create a new folder within Hotmail web interface ("InboxCopy" for example)
3) Empty out my Hotmail/Live inbox completely by moving them to "InboxCopy"
4) Re-boot phone
5) Setup the account again on phone
6) Send myself a test message, from myself
7) Move contents of "InboxCopy" back to the Inbox
8) Delete new folder, "Inbox Copy"
**The key is to have an EMPTY inbox before you add the account.**

[Q] How to Un-sync Contacts???

I have been some serious issues with this and need some assistance.
A little background. My college (who also has a rooted EVO 4G) asked me 1 day if my "people" app kept force closing. At the time we both had the Synergy ROM. And my people app was working perfectly.
The day after my "people" app started to force close randomly and whenever I opened it. I thought nothing of it until I really needed to get into it. So I decided I was going to wipe and flash a new ROM. So I flashed MikG 2.58 and everything was fine for a day. Then day 2 of the new ROM Google asked me to sync some Google contacts with Google contacts. (I did not sync Facebook yet) Every since then it Force Closes.
Is it possible to wipe all the contact syncs I have done on my phone. I really don't want to reflash.....

Settings > Accounts & Sync > click on your gmail account > Uncheck "Sync Contacts" option

I am trying it right now. I knew it was going to be something simple that I overlooked.
Does this reset all Google Synced contacts or just stop further syncing?

as far as I know all it does is stop further syncing. If you want the contacts to not be displayed then
1. go to your contacts
2.hit menu button
3. select "Display Option"
4. Under the header "Choose Contacts to Display" you select your Google account
5. Uncheck all of the boxes
6. Minimize Google account window and then select the Facebook account
7. Uncheck all of the boxes
8. Minimize Facebook account window and press "Done."
That should remove all of your accounts from view. This is at least how it's done on my phone. Your phone may, or may not, have the same ability and process.
If you want all of your contacts deleted from your phone then I think you'll just have to go through and manually delete them all.

Well I am not sure either, but People has stopped Force Closing. I was assuming it was a corrupted contact that was there, but I went back and "resynced" and its working fine now. I greatly appreciate it sir!

Hey dude check this thread out. It looks like what you should be looking for is called htccontacts.apk. Not people.apk. The linked thread is for the apk with inverted colors (for a darker color scheme) but should work just fine. Let me know if that is what you are needing.

[Q] How to disable the VZW NMN texts when receiving emails.

RCmix3D rom is giving me a vzwnmn text every new email i get. I remember on the older droids there was an option to enable / disable this option, but i can not find it within the rom. I have read others have had this trouble too with no fix yet. Anyone have any ideas at all? It gets really annoying if you know what i mean! Thanks in advance!

I'm having the sane problem since I flashed newts hd. I read on droid forums I think that you have to disable them in your Verizon account

To fix the random txts.....
1. Login to your MyVerizon.
2. Find your number and click on Change Features from the bottom right.
3. Select your device/number.
4. Then scroll down until you find Contact Management and click remove!
And they're gone.
found this on XDA when this was happening to me, seems some ROM's when you run them reactivate this service... I've deactivated it 2-3 times I think, and it only reappears after flashing a new ROM.
Hope that helps...its a txt message service for when you get an email...kinda pointless in my opinion.
