Help with posting? - About xda-developers.com

I must be retarded or something...For some reason it won't let me post in forums. I know I got to be missing something, but what?

You have to have atleast, I believe its 10 posts, before you can post in certain areas.

Question about xda use

I think you need X amount of posts before you can post in the dev section.
Answer some questions in Q&A or join in on a discussion in General. You do have to have 10 posts to post in other, development-related forums. That doesn't mean spam out 6 more posts to get there. Your spam posts could possibly be deleted, lowering your post count anyway, so do it right the first time.
Plus, spamming to get 10 posts makes you look like a douche. And nobody wants to look like a douche.

It is just a way to protect the Development section from bull**** posts like this. Just participate in Q&A or post in General in the Rumor thread. You can get 10 posts in 10 minutes there.

You dont have to start new threads to meet that requirement but since this is already here just keep posting in here to meet that requirement. What rom do you plan or are running?

From the look of the op, I don't think he deserves to post in development...

Unfortunately, it's because of posts like this that this rule was put in place.
I shudder to think what useless crap you wish to flood the Development section with.

It can be frustrating for those who generally browse and only post after not finding the right question answer combo. But, that is not the norm.

That is what Q&A section is for. Then after getting the question answered the user gains knowledge they can pass on. The 10 posts are easily reached that way.

I'm in the same boat. I use and test a bunch of different roms, but can never report my bugs or ask ROM specific questions in the dev threads. Usually I can find my answer by searching, but that's not always the case. I guess I'm more of a watcher than an active participant at this point.

Just post a legitimate question in Q&A and respond with thank you's and what is the best way to do that's and you will hit 10 posts in less than a day. And then you are good to go. People using the ROMs that have answers read Q&A too.

Both u and I have seen how nubes destroy dev threads with comments/issues that have A) either been posted in the op or B) previusly stated....with that being said I have no intention of bein a pain in anyones ass I just feel...restricted in a sense....like a little kid that was told he can play in the play ground but not talk to anyone...but for the right reasons...

Like all things new people have to suffer for past people abusing or screwing something up. It is a protection from Spammers and people just popping on, saying something stupid and they're gone. It is only for the development section where posts should be more professional and intelligent. 10 posts are nothing. But it is a small safety. Perhaps if the OP was worded more professionally the flaming would not have started.

If you've been reading the threads (which I'm sure you have), you'll find the Epic community is the most helpful, most welcoming one around. Trust me, I work on the Evo 4G as well and the Epic boards are much more tight-knit.
Having said that- did you get the answer to the MIUI issue? Sounds like it was just a bad download...

Im reporting you for consistently making worthless threads. This is called trolling and is against the rules.
Not only do you post worthless topics but you also post things that are not safe to flash in these forums. You have done this in the past and I will let the moderators deal with you
If you do not understand what is going on or do not understand english DO NOT POST THINGS THAT CAN DAMAGE OTHERS PHONES OR PROPERTY
I mean why are you posting stuff like this?
You were posting roms for other phones in here a couple weeks ago! Get out

What are you talking about? This has been tried an tested on the T-mobile Note 2. Is it really necessary for every single one of your posts to be negative? It seems to me that you have some real life self esteem issues and come online to be billy bad ass to make up for it.
What im talkimg about is that you need to see his post history. And youre only saying that because I hit the button on you too...for spamming private message boxes....remember?
The fact of the matter is not that I made a negative post. Its that this is a forum for development of software for mobile devices and he repeatwdly posts either nonsensical or meaningless threads.
But YOU always show up trying to save someone. VIIRUS, and now this guy.Why dont you just check his threads and every single person says the same thing.
But it seems you suffer from the same affliction as he. You are incapable of investigating anything before you go tap tap tapping on that keyboard.
Do I need to post the links for you?
You guys just dont want to hear the truth because you know ill get around to one of you later on and it scares you.
You need to focus more on the galaxy note 2 in these forums, and less on spamming mailboxes, trying to save people on these forums, and way way less on psychology.
Or if things like 'feelings' and other people 'emotions' are really of interest to you there are certainly forums that you can register to be a part of that community. Here are some I found for you
www.depressionforums.org/forums/.../ ...
www.pmscentral.com/forum
What you are missing is that this is not the post whatever you want forum. Do you really want to sift through crap like that when you come to xda? I mean he posts in the development forums sometimes....ugh im done trying to explain anything to you. Check those links out

Spamming private messages? You'll get around to me too? You are a nutcase. You pm'd me. You are like that whiny little **** that begged the teacher to be a hall monitor. You aren't a mod and you don't have to post your dumbass comments to report a thread. And yes, I know. You are going to report this post. Good for you buddy.

No my friend as a matter of fact you are the troll. You "troll" this forum looking for people who make stupid posts and try to call them out. Instead of trying to monitor what everyone is doing why don't you just let the idiotic posts bury themselves. This is what we have been doing for years here on XDA. A "forum vigilante" such as yourself isn't going to change things. So take a moment, relax, and move on

frustrating rules

my grievance is if i only care about a certain thing.. this case asking about bugs in certain rom thread.. to the developer.. i have to post 10 stupid times in other threads i care nothing about.. i guess 9 more than this.. and it irritates me.. to be able to engage in the only thing i care about's convo. other than that.. this site rocks. my first time flashing my own phone and it has been a big help using this site. if i wasnt such a motorhead i would get into development myself.. if i knew where to start.. im sure thats on this site too.. but thats it. thanks xda for being awesome.. but stupid at the same time.
Create a thread in your device's Q&A. Or post in that rom's discussion thread if one exists.
You know what I find frustrating? People who are too lazy to SEARCH and find the other 500 posts whining about the 10 post rule and instead start a new one to add to the pile.

OP, nobody is asking you to make ten stupid posts, in fact I'm asking you not to.
The rule is there for a reason and a good one at that. Thread closed.

Post in Q&A or General section. (Don't just spam in OT, but help other users)
Take a look at my Icon Pack. Click here!
Rules are rules. And if you've been around XDA for as long as you say you'd also know that this topic has been beat to death. @edisile is quite correct! :fingers-crossed:
