Not possible sorry, flash and Facebook install has system services. Your better of rooting your phone, if not already done so and then install a Rom with data2SD like the one am using.
Witch give's you 2gb internal memory for your app's, you'll need a class4 SD card for this or better.
I have about 250 apps and still 1.2gb left

Well I don't know of this rom, I'm using Neophyte's reflex ROM (v 2.0.5 now) and trust me, you won't miss anything from the stock HTC's ROM...

Its very stable has long has your SD class is fast enough its a superb RoM and there is so much more to come from the dev.
If your unsure you can boot your phone into recovery and do a nand backup this will create a image off your phone, so you can get right back from where you left of. Also use titanium backup and backup your app's contacts ect, there for if your happy with SN GB there you can just restore from backup All this can be done within 1 hour.

My phone is debranded, rooted, has clockwork mod and the gold card. I have also flashed the phone with NexTSense 5.0 FroYo by NeoPhyTe.
Now, I went to applictaions, and tried to mave some apps to SD, however the button ("Move to SD") is grey and I am not able to mave any apps to SD.
I have been reading about partitions on SD, however I don't know if that is for moving apps to SD or some other function.
If anyone knows, could you please enlighten me please?
Also, if anyone know (I persume most of you do), what does Radio mean? I have searched "Radio on Android OS" however it seems to be and FM Radio, is that what it is supposed to be?!
Thank you for your time!
Hi !panda,
There's an app called app2sd on market. Also titanium backup. Your phone needs to be rooted I think. I've managed to move some hefty programs like earth to the SD with little if any gain in speed but at least some satisfaction. Good luck with that.

None of my apps will move to SD, same as you with the button being grey.

Also, Radio is sort of the image file for your phone wich handles the calls and data and such. some radios get better reception and make the phone run better overall.
For instance, my desire was getting trippy after i used a custom rom. I updated the radio and everythings fine now
You need to partition your SD card. Install rom manager from the market. You can use this to partition the card but it will wipe the card so backup the contents to your pc first. Partition with 512mb then 32mb swap. Copy your contents back to card. Then install either spare parts or modinstalllocation from the market, both allow you to choose where apps are installed and will open up apps2sd.

Hi,
I have rooted froyo 2.2 with App2Sd enabled and always move everything that possible to the Sd card. In spite of that, I have only 20Mb free space left (I use Android System info app). I have 8GB 6class samsung Sd card and did the partitions as said in guides.
how can I have more space to install more apps or I stuck and just have to decide what important and what not ?
Thanks.
what App2SD?
The native Froyo one or the App2SD+?
The native Froyo one does not move the whole app. Just take a look in the app listing and you'll see how much space it occupies on the internal RAM and how much it occupies on the SD card. You also can't move every app, e.g. no widgets.
The App2SD+ moves all apps to the SD-Card, including cache. But even then the more apps you install the less internal memory is available. That's because of a process I don't exactly remember Some apps unpack stuff which gets copied to the internal data partition, and I don't talk about the cache. Don't know for sure, but you should find it with the search.
When I check the app2sd ver. It doesn't shows the. + Symbol so I guess that it is a regular one. Can you give me a link to the plus version?

?? how shall you check the App2SD Version. You either use the + one, by using an EXT2/3 partition and a proper ROM and not moving the apps manually, it gets done automatically, or you use the Froyo one, by moving each app manually to the SD card in the app settings.
To get APPS2SD+ you need a properly set EXT2/3 partition and then flash a ROM supporting it (like Leedroid if you like a Sense ROM, or DeFrost, Opendesire if you like an AOSP ROM), that's it.
..available for download in the market. App size reduced to 10,96 Mb (before:12,39)

Grabbed this - its nice its smaller than the last release, but I still think it'd be nicer if they could have shipped off the 4.5mb(?) apk to the sd card... I am still teetering on the edge of having the annoying 'you are low on space' message everytime my cache on maps/facebook gets too large.
Yeah.. It downloads at 4.5Mb but installs at 16.34MB. It's annoying How phone manufacturers missed out on giving us more internal memory or providing complete App2SD thing
Thanks for the heads-up.
BTW guys, I just installed a custom ROM that had A2SD+(LeeDroid), and I've never had to worry about the low disk space error. I hope you could try it too.
You would get decreased performance and it would not work when SD card is mounted on your PC if placed on SD card with froyo apps2sd

been using A2SD+ for awhile now (which is different from froyo A2SD) and i don't notice decrease in performance at all
Stock FroYo A2SD won't allow it to be moved as it's a system app. only using A2SD+ in a custom ROM will move it (and it has no affect on performance)

FWIW, I'm using "Stock Froyo A2SD" on a custom ROM (MCR9) and I've moved Flash to SD card (i.e. on the FAT32 partition) without issue and there's no performance penalty.
I can't see any reason why I'd want to use Flash whilst my SD card is mounted on my PC, so this has never been an issue IMHO.

Dave
Thanks for this but I was forced to revert back to the prior version. It took up a whopping 12Mb storage space and there's no way I can afford to lose that. As I'm all Stock Froyo I cannot move anything to do with Flash .
My phone then starting complaining that it's run out of space. Grrr.
can any1 please upload this exact version on 4shared / rapidshare ?
thanks in advance
Here is my backup.
Thats the only app I cant move to my sd card .... I have added the tweak ... so by default eveything installs to the SD card .. bar it looks like .. preinstalled stuff... I have not got root yet ...

Unless you are S-OFF, you can only delete the things you've installed by yourself or move them to the SD Card (Non_A2SD+).

Also, if you don't have A2SD+ (not App2SD), then some applications will be on Internal memory even after moved to the SD card.

I am not an android expert, but you do need app2sd or data2sd to fix this.
Any 3rd party rom with those X2sd supported can let you extend your limited phone storage. I don't know the android system file structure at all but here is the general idea.
i. App2sd
This will install the apps (most of them) on your sd card, but the data, I think, still remains on your phone internal storage. Your system should be very fast as normal even with low class sd card (most of the time I think :-0 ).
ii. Data2sd
This is a little bit tricky, it requires you to format your sd card and make use of the sd card instead of your internal phone storage for the operating system. You generally get an unlimited store, it depends on how much memory you allocated for the system, also you need a higher class sd card as better.
iii. Data2sd mixed mode
This is the best solution for me . it moves almost all to the sd card but some part of the system with more i/o on the phone internal storage (actually symlinks point back to the device on sd card). This will make the system fast (faster than pure data2sd), extended the phone storage a lot, but still limited to the phone internal storage (better than app2sd though)
Again, this is just my understanding. I haven't looked into Android in depth yet, but I will one day I have enough time
You can found the ROMs and almost everything you need from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=916417
Really appreciated the people who did the job there.
I have app 2 SD
I fixed partition ex2 to move the apps but I can't see ext2 partition
Must I have app2sd+ , where can download it.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Create at least EXT3 with more than 512 MB.
You don't have the option anywhere, to move to the EXT partition, it is automatically done by the script.
To see your EXT partition you must use TI Backup (Shows only as A2SD+) or GParted.
Ok not ext2
I have tried with ex2 it doesn't work , should I have swipe ?
I will do it with Linux
Which Rom do u think is best now ?
Where can I download a2sd+ ?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
A2SD+ is not a program, it is a script. Included in the ROMs.
Look around in the Desire Android Developement Section for ROMs and pick one you like. Most of them have A2SD+.
Do some reading... rooting guides include all the information you need
I will format the SD and try to found some Rom with a2sd+
Why desire have very little memory it should be 2 or 4 gb
Thank everyone and I will be back with feedbAck

This has always been a problem with my desire until i found out about AlphaRev. Now i've got 166MB free internal space. My suggestion is to install AlphaRev and modify the partition tables as listed in the tutorial on alpharev.nl. I would have posted a link but i can't post links yet.
i downloaded RCMIxHD_v3.4_ROT_D2EXT_RC1 and made a parttion ext3 and now work perfect.
Thank u everybody
I am just flash with SuperNOVA and i would like to move some apps to my internal memory to reduce lag.
The main one is the GO Launcher EX.
I really want to move it into my internal memory. If i have a terminal emulator, what should I type in to do so?
Using this ROM

When using A2SD, you can't. If you are using DATA2SD apps are always on internal memory.

No.
data2sd is like a2sd, but instead of moving all the apps, it moves the entire data partition to SD so everything is on SD (although it shows as internal).
@ OP, cant be done.

Thanks a lot. I catch what you mean.
However, is it possible to temporarily change the installation location to Internal and restore to sd-ext after rebooting? I am just wonder that would happen
No because SD-EXT IS internal. "internal" means /data/app/ which is actually now /sd-ext/data/app (or however it is structured).
With data2sd:
Internal = /sd-ext/data/app
External = /sdcard/.android_secure (as it always has = )
Thanks. Now, I would like to know the whether there is a need to GPART my SD card for superNOVA?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

Yep, whole partition

Oh, but there is a solution if you need the app in nand though..create a folder in /system/data, then make a symlink in/data/app to it..

Oh really? Maybe you have a crappy card, and tried it on a crappy ROM. And don't tell me it's of a good class. That has nothing to do with it. To each his own..
If the speed of the card in random read write of small chunks of data is good, Data2sd should perform well. The basic criteria is that the speed of card should match nand. But making a very vague statement that Data2sd as such is laggy, is like a blind man holding the elephant's tail and saying the elephant's a small animal.
TouchPal-d from my Desire running Starburst Classic Rom - 450 apps and counting. .
For me Supernova is one of the best ROMs out there, and despite occasional lag and hanging apps I haven't found anything that combines a fully working Sense ROM without Sense 3.0 crap that never works well, and so much space for apps.
One question though. All day it seems to work well, I have a class 10 Transcend card 8 GB. Lags usually occur when the phone is locked and I try to move out of the lockscreen, it seems like it never actually "wakes up" and everything is laggy, the lockscreen itself hangs and doesn't respond, and when I finally unlock it I get messages for HTC Sense hanging etc. This happened for example this morning when I got out of bed and tried to answer a call after leaving the phone on all night. (I missed the call btw, since the Telephone app was stuck as well and I could not answer it )
Any ideas?

No, I downloaded it yesterday so it was the 2.0.2.0 version. I also tried Gingerburst today with similar problems. Probably it's the SD card's fault after all
Probably. We have had limited success with class 10 cards..I'd try a class 6 transcend if I were you.
