Is there no way of converting iphone games to be compatible with the touch hd, as screen size is similar, both have accelerometers, i was kind of amazed when i saw the soccer 2009 game on youtube, kind of dissapointed that the touch hd doesnt have anything similar yet (theres only so much twitter i can play!)
I dont really know how to convert softwares cross platform, but if anyone can actually do this, i'd be very happy to help
the screens are NOT smiliar.... there are differnt OS.... Iphone accept multitouch.....HD can using a stick, iphone not...
there is no chance to convert.....only rebuild....

even if it was possible to port the games on to the Touch .. the picture woudl be soo small .. it woudl not be able to see much !!
However there are other games out there that do mimic the same as the Iphone... but better !!!!!!!!!
Yep hardware wise the HD trousers the iPhone.....
And you can install what you want on it without apple saying so...

thats why i thought the hd should be able to play games that are at the same quality as the iphone, maybe because wvga hasnt been around that long?
To clarify; you can't. Iphone uses completely different hardware and more importantly the operating system and APIs available to the developer are very different. Even rebuilding with the game source-code would be a very manual process.
It would be like trying to port a PS3 game to an Xbox360... not possible.
Are there any games to the touch HD that can be compared to the games in Iphone? And where to buy them? I wanna have good games like on Iphone, my friends with Iphone laugh at my Blackstone because it has no good games
Well, thats the problem with Windows Mobile. On Iphone Apple controls what you can install, on Windows Mobile there is nothing you could control. (well, except business and navigation tools)
i mean, i want a phone later on this year that has all of the above. ideally, a 4.7" screen with a 1280x720 res, SAMOLED screen, dual core, tegra2 gpu and so on.
all the above minus the higher res wouldn't be enough of an upgrade imo.
so, any higher res phones coming out? even the optimus x2 has the same res as my desire

i doubt it, the next logical step would be for an xvga device, (1024x768) but ive never heard of one. maybe you will find one with a higher dpi, like the retina display on iphones

well, my contract's not up till november so hopefully someone out there(looking at LG, they seem to be pushing hard to be successful in this area now) will decide to tick off 'higher res' to add it to a 'better than the iphone 4' list
Motorola just unveiled Atrix 4G on CES. Phone is coming to AT&T and it has 540 x 960 (qHD) resolution.
And other specs also sounds nice - dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 1930mAh battery...
Dual core phones are right around the corner, they'll be here before November. However you won't find a phone with a 4.7 inch screen. The biggest will be the size of the Desire HD. The market isn't really big enough for phone companies to bring out a lot of massive phones and people are happy with the size they are now.
Look out for the PS phone, i think thats a 4" dual core phone. Lots of leaks on it.

NO NO NO NO NO, just looking a the PS Phone makes me think back to the nokia N Gage , plus only 24 fps in neocore lol this year is going to be all about the nvida tegra II
I was wondering when this subject might finally come up here. In spite of the current trend for flagship phones to become bigger than ever, I still think the sweet spot is somewhere between 3.5" and 4.0". I wouldn't buy anything bigger for the full retail price - I'll buy a 10" tablet and a 13" to 15" laptop instead.
Ridiculously enough we're seing 800x480 pixels anywhere, stretched up to 5.0" and even more - and they call that HD (I mean: HTC Desire HD & HTC HD2 for example. Both great devices, but come on! You call that HD?). I don't want bigger screens; I want higher DPI and superior image quality! I said the next phone I'll buy would be 3.7" device with 1280x768 pixels (that would be the next logical step for Android super phones after the iPhone 4: same aspect ratio as before but 2.5x as many pixels and HD ready for real) but it looks like I'll have to wait a long time.
Somebody please tell HTC to produce something like that. I'll buy it instantly

anyhoo, i tried the dell streak and found that comfortable so a 5" phone would do me tbh
Dualcored proc, at least 1.5GB internal memory, independent GPU, at least 1GB RAM, micro SDCard slot, HDMI output, 2 Cameras, flash light, better battery life, etc. etc.
Those are the specs I hope for my next android smartphone....but 4.7 inch screen is not for me...Desire HD is already a bit too big (4.3").
Dell Streak and Galaxy Tab, I hate 'em...it is just too huge for a phone

On top of the above specs. The radio needs to be wcdma or 3g over all 5 bands. That is the only iPhone 4 feature that impressed me.

I don't think that right now there is a smartphone way better than HTC Desire,so I don't see a good reason to upgrade.I'm also willing to change it.I guess we will have to wait and maybe in the summer there will be one with something like thisual-core Quallcomm with Adreno 3xx,1Gb RAM,8-16 internal memory+microsd card,front-facing camera,better battery life etc.As for the display,the one on the Desire is ok for me,I never had quality problems,and it's size is perfect(Desire HD is way too big for me,I can't hold it firmly in my hand).Overall,I don't think all these are needed,the Desire doesn't have any lag(except the latest games like Dungeon Defenders),but if they are not present then I wouldn't justify an upgrade.
Btw,tegra 2 is not a gpu,it's a dual core cpu
tegra is a gpu solution but uses a A9 cpu along with it I believe its a standard that nvidia has set to be used with their gpu
It makes no sense for nvidia to make a cpu they are a gpu company

Motorola Atrix, will have a besster resolution. looks very interessting. also with the laptopdock. htc doesnt have anytings in this class.

The Galaxy 3 has a 667 MHz processor.
The Wildfire has a 528 MHz processor.
There will be a really slight unnoticeable difference of speed when playing games.
Galaxy 3 has a 240 x 400 QVGA resolution.
Wildfire has a 240 x 320 QVGA resolution.
Both are the same size.
Galaxy 3 has a 3.15MP camera.
Wildfire has a 5MP camera.
So the Wildfire will take better pictures/videos.
Galaxy 3 has a Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery.
Wildfire has a Li-Ion 1300 mAh battery.
So Galaxy 3 will last a little bit longer.
Its just a choice between their appereance I would say, and the difference between Sense and what Samsung has.
I would go with the Wildfire though.
I tried many of my friends Samsung smarthphones, and they are nothing compared to a Wildfire.
I have both... the advantages of the Galaxy 3 are:
Screen - the screen on the Galaxy 3 has much better definition (higher res) but it is a bit smaller... I sometimes find it difficult to read without glasses lol. It definitely looks a lot better than the Wildfire's screen... especially when viewing webpages (don't need to zoom in as much for the font to become readable).
Processor - it's not that much faster but the phones does seem less laggy than the wildfire. Also skype works fairly ok on the galaxy but breaks up a lot on the wildfire. So there is a difference.
Advantages of the Wildfire? Well everything else lol. Faster 3G, better camera (has a flash too). WAY more custom ROMs to try out (unless you make the mistake of upgrading to the official froyo like I did :| ). The wildfire's screen is also bigger to it's easier to read without glasses. Oh yeah and if you are sticking with official firmware, HTC Sense is a lot more user friendly than Samsung's TouchWiz interface.
In the end I'm probably going to stick with the wildfire until I can afford a desire or something like that.
and the galaxy devices have lag issues (even my tab), and the htc ones are easier to update (OTA or RUU rather than KIES)
And the wildfire is useless at gaming. if you want gaming and dont mind branding and live in the uk look at the orange san fransisco / ZTE blade
Conclusion = The Wildfire fits your requirements the best.
Also, if this is your first ''smarthphone'' I would definitely go with the Wildfire, so much more user friendly like said above.

I have managed to get Angry Birds run pretty smooth.
And assuming he only wants to play ''odd'' games I'm pretty sure he doesn't mean the 3D games the other phones have.
I dont even bother on thw wildfire - thats why i have the tab

Rope cut works perfectly (cut the rope knock off haha)
Gameboid works well too if you are into old school, and furdiburb works great too. Furdiburb is my favorite pet raising game on android, it's amazing haha.

As far as I know, they don't work at all because they are HD (3D) games. Never tried it though

With all the commotion and discontent over the failed ICS update, I thought it might be more worthwhile to formulate and discuss ideas on features we'd want in the true Playstation Phone. People speculated and imagined the PLAY into existence long before it ever popped up. What if our ideas spark something greater down the line?
We all know the hardware and software limitations of the PLAY, and even an ICS update would disappoint in the long run, but what do YOU want a true PSPhone to be like?
A psp and a ps2 emulator'lld be great. And on the hardware side, a hd 4.5 inch lcd2 display tegra 3 processor and 2 gb ram (from Samsung)

4.5'? You would be better off with a PS Vita (5')!
I would like to see a phone with the same design as the Xperia Play, but with (for example) the Nintendo 3DS analogs (physical), more ram, a better processor, internal memory, display resolution and more gaming related apps.

Yea, those are good ideas. You can't dream too big! I think 5' will work because some Droid and Dell phones are that big lol! Imagine the Vita screensize but minus the controls on the side. They would slide out.
I also think it should have QR game download. So you could scan a label on a PS3,PSP, or Vita game you have and download it to your Phone instantly with NFC
Just to let you guys know, and warn you not to get the Archos 97 Titanium HD, it's that bad, i don't know what to do with it. i will try to sell it as a second hand and loose money on it. i bought it 5 days ago....
the problems with this device:
1. WIFI is very very slow and reception almost doesn't exists ! you will not be able to get a signal farther than 3m from the router.
2. HD ? Retina ? are you kidding me the device is on Normal mode (half of retina res.) and works sort of OK but still not as fast as expected from a dual core 1.6GHZ CPU with quad core GPU !- SHAME on you Archos.
Putting the device in HD mode, Forget about it, your device will flicker like hell and the lags becomes epic !
IMHO, the worst is the Archos knows about this and doesn't issue a recall or a solution to their customers. this is definitely the last time i will buy Archos for me they are a bunch of thieves because they know about their defective product and they keep selling it.
I feel like it's my obligation to post this message in all the relevant forums, to warn other suckers from falling in Archos trap.
Let me know what you think about this device, i'm going to the store tomorrow and will try to give it back.
"IPAD killer" really ?
OK, HD mode is a bust. Normal mode is OK if not good enough. The screen resolution is still better than a lot of devices. I agree it should work in HD mode but doesn't. For me it surfs the net better than a tegra 3 high end tablet like the Asus transformers.
I suggest you try to change the launcher to nova. For me it speed the device up a lot. (Dont use apex) Also did you update to the latest firmware? The end of January build.
The spec of the device is similar to the original Samsung galaxy note. Its high enough spec to expect it to perform OK but nothing special, I doubt it will ever be able to pump out HD resolution.
Either easy I hope you sort it out
How can any manufacturer release a device with a resolution that they just cannot support?!!?
Archos have great ideas but really poor implementation.
