Hi there,
I've installed a new rom with a incompatible Theme.
My smartphone is not booting.
Backup is not working.
Any help to restore my mobile.
Mridul
Reflash the ROM you were using before you flashed the theme.
i have no room on my ssd i formatted it.
Any other suggestions ?
Like i read about hboot?
Download it again. You can't fix it if you don't have the ROM.
i have the rom on my pc but how can i transfer it to my mobile if its not starting
Try mounting it in clockwork mod recovery, look under mounts and storage.
and how can i install the rom from my pc?
You can't. You can only flash a ROM via a RUU from your computer.
How did you break your existing ROM, how did you apply that theme?
ok i have a radio flash programm which i used for my radio file.
What are the commands for cmd to flash the rom?
What ROM were you using before?
i used the revolution rom now im trieing the
RCMix3D KINGDOM v1.0 Evolutionary Sense! THE ORIGINAL SENSE 3.0 DHD
Flash it in recovery, like you did your previous ROM.

hi there, i really need some help..not a tech genius..i installed the gingervillian 1.5 rom..everything went fine, but i forget to make a nandroid back up..when i install it was too late and my nandroid back up now is the gingervillian rom itself!..i dont really like the gingervillian because it wont work with htc sync. i have googled and tried so many ways i cant use other roms except gingervillian 1.5. all other roms just get stuck at the htc boot screen(for like 5 hours!)..factory reset dont work, full wipe dont work..i just need help on how to get back the original rom of the desirez 2.2 froyo..thx a lot..my life is counting on u genius out there!
I am assumng that you flashed CWM Recovery 3.0.0.x (orange) to install Gingervillian in the first place, right? Well in order to flash a Froyo version rom you need to flash the CWM Recovery 2.5.1.3 (green) back onto your phone prior to trying to flash a Froyo (2.2) based rom.
Update: The new CWM 3.0.0.5 recovery from ROM Manager now support both 2.2 and 2.3 roms.

What particular ROM's have you tried? Are any of them still on your sd card?
i tried 'Z ROM v2.0' and 'modaco r2 rom' and yes still in my sd
Have you been clearing the data and cache partitions after flashing new roms?

I'm unfamiliar with those ROMs but if they aren't built for the Desire Z and/or TMobile G2, then that is your problem. The best place to get your ROMs is in the Development thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=758
If the ROM you have is specifically built for your phone and is on the sd card then:
1 boot into recovery
2 wipe data/factory reset
3 (still in recovery) advanced>wipe davlik cache
4 (still in recovery) mounts and storage>format boot & format system
5 flash the zip from the sd card
6 reboot system (you may need to reboot a second time on some ROMs for everything to work correctly)
thanks man

is this a known issue? i myself am stuck with GV, nice rom but i want my swype back! lol, anyways will try the green cwm and see what happens
Try finding a stock g2 rom. After that download the zip. Go into recovery mode by pressing power and vol down. Make sure you have clockwork mod recovery. Not sure which version. Mine is orange. Wipe data and cache partition or something. Then install the zip. Should work. Hope I helped.

good day everyone, i would like to ask how to change custom rom.
i have a rooted desire hd and flahsed coredroid v2.3 but i want to try different rom like the leedroid. how do i change to another custom rom? do i just go to recovery mode -> wipe -> flash? or do i need to do other stuffs? please help me. i'm still a newbie and i still lack knowledge on android
Recovery, backup, wipe, flash done. You might need to install a gapps addon for the market. Just flash the zip after the rom.

thanks for answering, how do i apply a rom update? i mean i put the .zip file in the sd card root right? then how do i flash it?
Reboot into recovery, install zip from sd card, install custom zip, flash it. If you're upgrading within the same rom there's no need to wipe.

I rooted my Desire yesterday and it worked fine (with the Superuser app showing up and all)
I have downloaded ClockworkMod recovery and that too works fine. I backed up my current factory ROM on it.
I downloaded the devnull.zip yesterday from
Code:
http ://download.oxygen.im/devnull.zip
and installed it on the phone and it is stuck in an infinite android logo loop.
What should I do ? The recovery *.zip file in ClockworkMod does not do anything ..
I am currently downloading a new ROM by Cyanogen CM 7.0.2
Let me see if it works .. =/
Okay .. So I erased the all user data and the old ROM works fine. It doesn't have the Sense UI so I am still going to install the Cyanogen ROM
I think this has to do with one of 2 things.
1. Your version of recovery. If you have ClockworkMod 2.5.0.7 then you will be able to flash most things fine. Later versions of some ROMS require different scripting in later versions of Clockworkmod like 3.0.0.5 but they will normally tell you in the instructions.
If that isn't the problem
2. Your EXT partition on your SD card is not correct or corrupt. Many of the newer sense ROMS built on the new HTC Desire test keys sense don't support EXT4 and you need to format your SD-ext as EXT3
If you are still having an issue and you are S-OFF. You most likely have will have flashed an alternate HBOOT. If that is the case, flash the stock HBOOT, then choose the option reboot bootloader in the fastboot screen.
Should get you back on track.
What is the problem with cm? The download speeds i am getting for the rom are inane. 83 MB is going to take forever @8kbps ..

Hi
I'm trying to flash a gingerbread rom to my desire but I always end up being stuck on the HTC logo. I tried several ROMS( opendesire, modaco with sense and without, some more too but can't remember the names,... ) The only gingerbread ROM that installs is CM7, but i have market problems that annoy the hell out of me ( can't find certain apps, need to hack to install bigger apps ). A shame because i really like CM, but i want to compare with others
Any idea why gingerbread won't flash correctly. I have tried several froyo ROMS without any issues before, by the way
I have
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.93.0001
RADIO-5.14.05.17
thx
ntdst
Did you remember to wipe your data between each different install?
That's the most common problem when you get stuck at boot.
i use rom-manager and always create a back-up and wipe.
I also tried with an empty SD-Card and repartioned it ( with rom-manager ). The results are always the same, every gingerbread rom gets stuck. I thought there was something wrong with the partitions or maybe i need s-off for gingerbread... ?
What version of CWM do you have? Did you update manually to the new radio for the GB Roms?
- Recommended RADIO

If you flash the 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23. Radio a good idea will be to flash
the ril-firmare-drivers updates for it too

I'm using Rom Manager v4.2.0.2
It is possible that i flashed that radio with a previous modaco sense/froyo ROM.
should i first flash that one you mention and then try again?
Okay, Rom Manager Is not a recovery What's your recovery exactly?
And what ROMs do you try to flash?
AFAIK, you need to flash that first in order to get booted.
sorry clockworkmod 2.5.0.7 is current recovery
I really tried several ROMS
Modaco sense gingerbread
Modaco without sense
opendesire
oxygen
etc...
all and always stuck on HTC Logo except for CM7, that one works fine except for the market issues
- Clockworkmod Recovery 3.x.x.x (Recommended to be used! 2.x recoveries MAY have some problems with the updater-script => boot loop)

I found this in one of the ROM threads.
So my suggestion:
First try to update the radio to the newest (alredy posted the link).
If that does not help, then try to update your recovery.
updating radio and flashing updates did not help
i'm still stuck when trying to install oxygen
I could use some help in updating my recovery. I f i do this with rom manager 2.5.0.7 is the most recent.
I seems there's a 2.5.1.2 out and 3.x.x.x is not advised. Is there an update zip somewhere to use?
People report that Insertcoin S v22 can be installed with 2.5.0.7
Make sure you do a full wipe in THE RECOVERY, not ROM Manager or any program.
Too boot into recovery hold down Power+Vol Down while phone is off.
There:
1. Wipe data/factory reset
2. Wipe cahce
3. Under advanced menu > Wipe dalvik-cache
Also make sure your SD card is partitioned right.
And for the update - you can only update your recovery if you are S-OFF or you use Unrevoked3 with a custom recovery image.
Grab a copy of Ubuntu and check that the apps2sd partition on your card is formatted correctly. I tried all ways of formatting and partitioning (via clockwork/rom manager) and it never formatted correctly and always caused HTC boot sticking.
If I completely reformatted SD and reflashed an older rom (like Leedroid 2.3) would then boot fine. I then used Rom Manager to repartition & format SD, boot ubuntu (live CD is enough - no install required) then reformatted partition to EXT4, flashed and worked fine.
Also, is 2.5.0.7 your TRUE recovery version? Turn your phone on with vol-down held then select recovery - does the version change to an older one? If this is the case you may need to re-root is (Unrevoked) to update your recovery version permanantly.
Hope that helps.
If you are S-off you can flash newest recovery using fastboot, this flash would be permanent!
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.8-bravo.img
i agree with TMSsecret,
the gingerbread ROMs i have used seem to need a more recent version of HBOOT. First time I tried to flash LeeDroid 3.0.2, it didnt work. Applied S-OFF (which updates your HBOOT during the process) and tried again, worked no worries. Also, if you're keen to install the latest ROMs, upgrade to clockworkmod recovery 3.x... It took me a few tries to get FASTBOOT working properly (possibly because my version of windows XP has had too long to decompose), but if you persevere, it will work.
The best way to make sure your ROM will work is a thorough research session. Not slagging you at all, just pointing out the obvious. Look up everything to do with your intended ROM and read the threads.
Hi,
I have rooted my HTC desire and have S-OFF enabled.
Now I wanted to installed sandvold's ICS rom, but I dont have a clue where to start and I am not attempting to do anything in fear of brick.
I have backuped my phone using titanium backup. Installed Rom Manager.
Now I'm just unsure about installing the rom. I read you needed to install a radio.zip, but I cant see anything like that in the ICS rom.
Also not sure about the micro SD situation, as I'm sure you need a partition for it, so not sure where to start with that.
Basically, I just need a guide to help me with installing this rom and taking all the precautions along the way.
Thanks!
By guide, I dont neccessarily mean for you to make a guide, just a link to one if there is one you know of.
Thanks again.
Okay... umm ditch rom manager would be my first suggestion.
Then check my sig and install 4ext recovery. There is an app on page1 of thread to install it. Its better than rom manager.
Then use 4ext recovery to create a new nandbackup of your current rom.
Then copy ALL contents of your sd card to your computer.
Then use 4ext recovery to create an EXT partition on your sdcard. This will wipe everything on the SD.
Put all your files back to the sd card and the zip file of the rom you wish to flash. And flash the ROM.
About the radio, don't touch the radio for now. Unless you are running froyo you don't need to mess with it yet. But if needed my sig would point you to where the radio files are.
Whats your current radio version anyway?
