I re-installed Leedroid as i was trying to get apps2sd working on an ext3 fromated sd card and upon reinstalling, it hung at the Telstra Splash screen for about 20 mins. I took the battery out and rebooted into bootloader where it displays that no image can be found on the sd card.
The computer detects the sd card however when i enter recovery mode to install zip from sd card, it displays "can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0.... can't mount /sdcard".
What do i do to completely erase everything and install Leedroid again ?
Backup your SD card, format FAT32 and ext3 then flash the rom again.
I copy+pasted everything to windows earlier when everything was working, but don't have anything on the sd card to back up now. I tried formating to fat32 but the bootloader still says the same thing about the sd card, therefore i can't flash the rom.
Anyone ? i'm out of ideas. I tried a different sd card but the phone still 'cant mount'.
seems you got problem with your partition on the sd card, use you recovery to rebuild you partition or gparted to do so...
googlise gparted live cd or more friendly virualbox or vmplayer to run a complete linux distri.
Did you partition your sd-card on this way:
http://leedroid.com/bravo-wiki/partitioning-your-sd-card-ready-for-a2sd
If not, do it, flash the rom again and all should work.
You could try the sd card enable command?
Code:
fastboot oem enable qxdm 0
Otherwise there is a good guide on USB brick here:

Hope it helps!

Last night I was trying to partition my sd card and it went wrong. The sd stopped working and after turning off the phone every time I turn the phone on it goes to fastboot. It got the clockworkmod as recovery and if I try to format the sd I get the message: cant mount /dev/block/mmcblk0 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0p1) . Is there anything I can do? Ps sorry if this post is poor im sending this from my wifes phone as my home internet is down too!
If your on froyo your SD Card need an ext3 partition to boot the phone
Use clockwork recovery to re partition.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
use gparted to partition, just make sure that you have it in this order, fat32 then ext3 then swap(if you decide to use a swap)
I got a very similar problem and still can't solve it. I did partitioned the sd card with Rom manager and then went into recovery, tried to check if it was ex3 (because i read somewhere that rom manager partitions the sd card only with ex2), and then the **** was done. Every time I boot the device it goes into fastboot, so I can't even put some rom on the SD card and try to flash the mobile phone again :S
Any tips, help or whatever? Please.
hi i juz flashed defrost 6.1a.Everything went fine but the camera.Previously from oxygen 1.0.4.it was not responding and the led flash auto flash!!.read up that reformatting sd card will solve the problem,so what i did was to format it in pc but it didn't help, formatting sd card under sd option >format sd did not help too..i proceeded to reboot phone as there it is....stuck at splash screen.my sd card has ext3 but i suspect its gone as pc reads extra storage now.isit because of this ext3?
Cant boot int phone but i can boot into recovery.should i reflash defrost zip?
Just reflash. When your stuck in splash just means it can't read the OS installed so just flash it again. Usually works when it happens to me.
Hello, tonight i tried some thing (i just wanted to change rom), but i made some mistakes... now i cannot boot my phone, it keeps rebooting. I have Leedroid ROM and it keeps rebooting after PC-boot like animation. The only thing i can access is the back button + power recovery. What can i do?
Thanks!
I have tried to wipe the cache and system, and solo deleted storage (hard reset)... but same point. I think that if i can put a update.zip on the sdcard i can flash it... but at the moment i don't have a sd card reader. Is the phone dead?
No your phone isnt dead
1. If you have a nandroid on your sd card just enter hboot and recover your system.
2. Otherwise you can perform an md5 check of the rom you downloaded and wish to flash. (just to make sure its not corrupted, i suppose your trying to flash leedroid) Enter hboot wipe everything >system wipe>cache>dalvic and then relash the rom. Oh and make sure your sd card is partitioned correctly ... a2sd, D2EXt ...
3. If problem persists go into hboot mount your phone as storage copy another rom you would like to try and then flash this, you can just follow the steps in no2 abouve again.
This should solve your problem!
The thing that i have done BAD is the format of the card... or better, i have done right things but i'm almost sure something was wrong. I formatted it from gparted, then created a 3GB FAT32 partition, and with the remaining space i created a ext4 partition. Then, i moved the files needed for the rom that i wanted to flash (MIUI) in the fat32 partition, as i seen that the ext4 part was mounted read only (dunno why).
IMPORTANT: I have done all this mounting the SD card via Clockwork recovery.
When i selected the voice "flash a zip selecting from memory card" (or something )... it said "cannot find a valid zip".
Then the only choice for me was to reboot and... that is
Now i cannot mount SD, as i don't have (at home) a SD card reader and i don't have access to CWM recovery.
SD Card Problems With Clockwork Recovery
Hi there XDA, basically everytime I have an SD-EXT partition on my phone (i always, always make them using Linux manually) if I format my SD-Card (which should only format the Fat32 partition, I run into a big issue. My SD-Card will un-mount, possibly format i don't know, then it won't remount. If I connect my phone to windows the SD-Card has all its partitions removed. Very strange?
Anyway I decided to switch to Oxygen 2.0.1 this morning, as it's a much more stable rom, and anyway I performed what I said above on Froyo 2.1 (DeFrost) and the SD-Card wouldn't mount, when I noticed that the SD-Card didn't have any partitions I formatted it using Windows. I then placed the update.zip file of Oxygen onto the root of my SD-Card.
I proceeded to Clockwork Recovery and selected the option 'Select .Zip from SD Card' and I was shocked to see something saying No Files Found. We I have tried everything to sort this out, and absolutely nothing seems to be working? I have used a Ubuntu Live CD to try and completely wipe and re-format my SD-Card which completed sucessfully, but no joy, i've tried all the options on Clockwork Recovery, nothing works, I used a 2GB SD-Card to install Oxygen and this worked fine, once the phone was booted everything would work including the 8GB Card if I switched them. I know I should just put up with this, but I need to fix this.
Does anyone know how I can get my card to work again thanks.
Ok, so here's what I did.
1) My SD Card was partitioned.
I had used Darktremors a2sd a while back to put my apps on SD
2) Today, I copied the contents of my SD Card to my desktop
3) Then, I partitioned my SD Card (swap - 0MB; ext2 - 0MB; FAT32 - remainder)
4) Now, my computer doesn't recognize the SD Card AND Android doesn't work!?
Seriously, it will load to a wallpaper with battery, signal, and time. It even gives me the little USB icon. But, no shell or whatever.
Here is the error I was getting:
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(No such file or directory)
E:Can't mount /sdcard
5) AmonRA will allow me to repartition the SD Card (or so it says), but this doesn't fix the problem.
6) I finally got Fastboot to recognize my device, however running the following commands didn't fix ****:
fastboot-mac oem enableqxdm 0
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
7) Then, I tried selecting clear storage in the bootloader (why I did this on a rooted phone I'll never know), and now my phone doesn't do anything.
8) About all I have going for me is a working recovery and fastboot recognizing my device. No OS, no SD Card, and no way of flashing anything.
What do I do!?
Heres your first problem....
3) Then, I partitioned my SD Card (swap - 0MB; ext2 - 0MB; FAT32 - remainder)
Click to collapse
You should have gave at least 1024MB to EXT.2.Thats where your apps are installed.Try that and let me know.
Just a thought
If you have a Card Reader, Remove the SD card from your phone and put it in a microSD adapter to see if your computer recognizes it that way.
Is it possible for you to repartition but put 1024 MBs onto an ext2 and try again? I thought our phones needed the ext2 partition.
Just throwing some suggestions around.
Or you can boot into the boatloader,by powering off, then hold the volume rocker in the down position, once in there, try to enter recovery,if not, connect to your computer through the bootloader.Yes you can repartition the sd card, only from inside recovery or from the computer using a partition application.
Why did you post this twice? You posted this same question in general as well I think your problem may be failure to read since you obviously didn't read the forum rules, if you searched Google you could have found the answer instead of asking a question that has been answered multiple times and not only did you not search but you posted the same question twice
