For a while now I haven't been able to move Rom Manager to my SDCard, so everytime Rom Manager updates, I get a notification to move it... but the button "move to sdcard" is grayed out and I can't move it.
has anyone had this issue and solved it? It's not like my phone won't work... I just like moving apps to my sd card to save space on my phone.
I'm running Virtuous 3.2.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi,
Pretty much all my custom apps are on the SD via A2SD+ as it comes with the OpenDesire custom ROM. As expected, the system sees them as being in internal phone storage but they only take a tiny fraction of it. They all work fine.
I've tried moving some of them to external storage (so-called Froyo-style A2SD), but what happens is that on the next reboot all widgets from these apps simply disappear. When I try to add them back, they're missing from the "add widget" menu, as well. Rebooting doesn't do anything... Apps themselves work fine though, as I think is expected, they appear later than others after reboot, once the SD card has been "prepared." This isn't the case with A2SD+'d apps.
As far as Froyo A2SD are concerned, I can only have their widgets back by moving them to internal/A2SD+ storage, or reinstall them via the Market--the latter only lasts until reboot?
Can anyone confirm this issue in OpenDesire and/or other ROMs? And most importantly, if this is a known issue, does anyone know a walkaround?
Thanks,
Marco
i've got the same problem too with the missing widget in the "add widget" menu. i don't think it's because of the ROM. it's like you said - because the SD card is being read after the widget menu is being loaded. the only workaround is to install any apps that you wanna use their widgets in the internal storage. and put all the other apps inside the SD card to save some space. not sure bout other solutions though.
I just rooted my Desire today using Unrevoked and then flashed Leedroid v2.2 Froyo using Rom Manager. After restoring everything with Titanium backup I noticed that the widgets weren't working and in their place "Problem loading gadget" was written. I think it's because the rom come with A2SD+ and the widgets don't work from the SD card. How do I move them back to the internal memory, because I've been at this all day (searching forums and inside the phone itself) and I can't for the life of me figure out how to fix this. Please help.
It is indeed because the widgets are installed to an SD card. Move them back to the internal storage from Settings > Applications > Manage applications. Tap on the widgets in the list of installed apps and press the "Move to internal storage" button.

With A2SD+ This procedure will move them from SD-Card .android-secure to SD-Card Ext3 Partition, so this will not help.
I have the same problem, it is related to the Titanium-Restore. Remove the widgets from the screen and reposition them and everything is fine.
Thanks for the help. I already figured it out last night, just never bothered updating the thread.
well, it can't be like that to remove and add all of the widgets everytime you reboot. it sounds nuts.
is there any sane way to get it fixed please?
i'd be obliged for this great help.
Thanks in Advance!
I put the new ROM Synergy on my phone, restored apps and since then a lot of the apps FC right away and anytime i try to move an app to the sd card it gives me the Synergy splash screen. I really like Synergy so i would like to find out what the problem is. I also tried downloading apps like apps2sd and install manager and they also just freeze and go to the splash screen. Any help would be appreciated.
I searched everywhere to find the problem but to no avail. Thanks
Well, first off, how is your card partitioned?
And if you use the Synergy Updater, there is a mod'd version of A2SD you have to flash then once you're booted, go into terminal and type:
SU
a2sd reinstall
That will move ALL your apps to the sd card.
Make sure you use Titanium or MyBackup to back them up then, becasue if you ever format your card, even the apps that cam e with the ROM will be gone, and you'll have to reflash the rom or pull those apps out of the .zip file and install them
Hi,

After getting warning internal memory are low, I tried to move some (downloaded)apps to my SD card.
But sadly when I select the apps, "move to sd card"(or "move to phone memory") button are not there??? How come?
I tried installed Android Assistance, none of the apps under Moveable tabs have that function?

1) your phone in non rooted.
Some apps like Facebook etc dont move to Sdcard. For that you have to increase internal memory by using ext 3 partition of your sdcard.
Put simply, you will need to Root your phone. But before that, do some research if u really want to do it.
Best of luck

Hi everybody, please I need your help.
I installed on my Redmi 1S this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-1s/orig-development/rom-unofficial-cyanogenmod-11-t2909757
I find it a nice, good and stable ROM.
It has only one major problem:
it says that it can't save the photos to the external SD card due to the Androis KitKat limitations.
In Settings/Storage I can't find the option to set the external SD card as a default storage place.
Probably because of this the storage capacity of the phone is not shown correctly to.
Is out there a flashable zip, or anything else to resolve this problem?
Thanks.
(Sorry for my bad English)
Hi, it is on the camera. Hit camera and find the options icon, should be on the right. Find settings and goto more settings. Change the storage from "Internal Memory" to "SDCARD".
Glad to help,

Hi, thanks for your reply.
You say: "Change the storage from "Internal Memory" to "SDCARD".
Well, that's not working.
1. When trying to change storage option, a pop-up message says that's not possible due to KitKat's limitation.
2. And yes, in Setup/Storage settings there's no option to set the external SD card as a default storage place.
3. Regardless of that, the File Manager recognizes the external SD card.
In my opinion this ROM does not contain the option to select the default external SD card, so, through an update or a flashable zip or using a custom kernel it should be included in the CM 11 ROM.
So I'm asking again: is out there a custom kernel, a flashable zip or un update that can resolve this major issue of this ROM?
Thanx.
