As cool as this sounds, I am sorry to tell you that no one would develop a ROM to do such a thing because, it would drain battery life, burn the LED lightbulb supporting it, and would be a failure at developing.

burn the LED and led doesnt eat much battery...
oh welll...

Some have the option to turn them off but they have not worked. Does any one have a suggestion or maybe know a good night clock that really does turn the button lights off? Thanks for reading.

CM7 has a good nightclock, the buttons remain off too
Here's a screen shot, the buttons are off, and the screen is very dim so it won't wake you up

Im on stock everything other then root. Cm7 requires red lens I think. I had a red lens but my replacement cell came with green. Im scared of bricking it! ..... ill try gentle clock

CM7 works fine on a green lens too (my case, for example). Go give it a try.
Gentle alarms nice! But lights still stay on! It really doesn't bother me but will it damage my cell phone with those lights on all nite?

Weird, I use the NightDisplay in GentleAlarm and everything is OK.
Actually, hit settings when you are in NightDisplay mode. There are a few options to try!

[Q] LED Notifications

Since there isn't an LED light specifically for notifications, is there a way to make the LEDs for menu, home, back, and search light up for said notifications? It would be even better if each one lit up for specific apps so I could know why it's lighting up before I even turn on the screen.
Thanks for any help!
My suggestion would be NoLED.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing, but was hoping one could take advantage of the buttons' LEDs.

The closest we can get to LED notifications is BLN. You need to use a BLN compatible kernel and use the app BLN Control.

I'm trying to tweak some things on system tuner and my phone rebooted (but took a bit to turn on) my blood pressure dropped, I thought I killed my phone!
But after some reading.. it pretty much means the phone does not like those settings, change them.. right? Phone works fine now though, but I was wondering for future reference

Yeah, basically. If you are undervolting, you need to take tiny increments to make sure the phone is stable before going any further.

Turn on hard keys using ics

Hey guys I've been looking around but cant find anyway to turn back on the hard keys. (Home, menu, back, search) I guess its also referred to as capacitive buttons. I just flashed to mazwoz beta 5 (totally sweet)using mason full kernel. And noticed the lights don't turn on under the buttons. I was using synergy ( which rocks IMO) and I know he lights work. Is there a setting I'm unaware of or a zip I could flash to get them to work? Or maybe ics is designed this way? Idk. But any help is appreciated.
Thanks

You have to play around with the brightness settings to get them to turn back on. Just move it up or down or turn auto brightness on one of those will make then light up

So I turned off auto bright and they turned on. Thanks evo4gnoob

Not 100% Sure what you looking for, but this app can switch the lights off, I started this thread a few days ago. Hope it helps.

edit: Sorry I see the title properly now. my bad this isn't what you are looking for, I will see what info I can find regarding this.
You can do it with Tasker if u are rooted. Just tested sms notification and it works, however little buggy when screen is off (when u need it lol). It is lit up, and blinks but with a very long interval due to slow update I guess.
Good thing is that it works for any app that uses notifications.

[Q] Is it possible to turn off capacitive button lights? [Solved]

It bothers me when I'm playing games on the phone and the bottom lights come up all the time. Is there an app that can turn the lights off for me?
Or is there a tasker program that will allow me to turn it off? Any help is appreciated!

On the other hand is it possible to keep the capactive buttons on the whole time as long as the phone is on?

You mean permanent?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Yes there are settings for it that keep them on shorter or longer. My wife's relay uses this same setting to control the backlight on the slider keypad as well!
Look in DISPLAY and see if there is "touch key light duration" I have stock rom (actually wicked, based on stock) and I have 1.5 (default), 6, off, on as the 4 choices.
Yea permanent as long as the screen is on though! Thanks for replying man but I'm on CM10 that rom has a slightly different configuration.

No don't think so. Might be an app for it or mod with in the forums, maybe elesbb can jump in, he knows how to write code for such a thing I think.
