sorted it out. For some reason removing the dialler application from the phone group within profiles caused it to start working again. very strange.

Hi guys,
For the last few nightlies using the Cyanogenmod 7 my desire hd won't ring.
When a call is received then it just vibrates even though the ring volume to set high and the ringer is also turned on.
Can anyone help please as I could really do with this back.
I would have posted this in the development forum but login still prevents this.
Thanks
Paul
u r a hero <3
Something similar happened to my friend's SE Xperia Mini Pro, using CMmini nightly builds. Strange thing here is that it doesn't even vibrate. We've tried changing the default calling app, but it keeps coming through the one what shipped with the ROM.
How weird is that

Hi. I've had my Desire for some weeks now. But some day or two ago the text vibration stopped working. It's only the vibration when I get a text that doesn't work. When someone calls, feedback when I'm writing also work.
Anyone of you that know what it could be? I've checked settings etc.

I had the very same problem with my first Desire on a week or two after I got it. I tried literally everything. I called HTC they had no idea what to do nor how to fix it. So I called T-Mobile (who I got the phone from) told them about it, they couldn't fix it either so I got a replacement phone.
Seemingly there is no way of fixing it. The motor is fine, but something is bugged. Perhaps one of the more astute Desire users (using custom ROMs) may be able to shed some more light on the problem, but as far as I know, it is unfixable.
Ok. I guess I need to contact the store I got it from. Thanks

This is a known issue which means the text vibration stops working when the battery gets low and it doesn't come back after charging the phone.
Download and install sound manager from Android market, use it to turn on text message vibration and it'll all work again for you. Best of all It's all completely free.
Let us know if it works for you like it did for me.
Rik.

Well sound manager worked. Thanks a lot

I just love a problem like this that seems unfixable only to find a detailed and workable fix. Bravo.
I wish I would've known that before getting a replacement phone. Ah well, it didn't cost me anything.
Glad it worked for you all, can't remember where I first heard it but it worked for me

I installed sound manager after, I observed that the vibration does not work on my phone. For the beginning all was OK,I began testing and saw that from 5 calls 3-4 are without vibration and 1 is with the vibration, though the vibration is on from phone settings and sound manager.I didn't try to factory reset the phone because I would lose everything .Any ideas would be appreciated.
I had this problem a while ago. Download 'Sound Manager' from the Market, and there's an option in it, 'Vibrate Always' or something. That did it for me anyway, hope it helps you

@BUTCHER0123
I had an intermittent problem with the vibrate function after about 6 months. I sent my phone back to HTC. Initially they replaced the motherboard which didn't fix the problem. I sent it back again (set as priority) and they replaced the vibration module. It all works fine now. It's an option to consider if you can put up with being without your phone but I think it's worth doing.
whats up guys! I bought a used HTC Rhodium/ Touch Pro 2 on eBay and it arrived today. I'd appreciate it if you guys could help me out with two problems I'm having.
I'm having a weird issue where the microphone icon toggles on and off (i also hear some sort of enabled/disabled sound going on/off every 10 sec or so) and i sometimes hear a "please repeat" command. Also, whenever this happens any text box I select automatically spams "gggggggggggggggg" indefinitely
Seems like a rather strange issue to me. If I reboot the phone, or have it off for a good 5+ mins, the phone is problem free for 1-2 minutes. Then the above problems occur again
Anyone have any insight? I enjoy this phone so far and it'd be a shame if i need to return it. I upgraded the ROM to the most recent WM 6.5 and it did not doing anything

Hey I recently flashed Mild Wild 4.2 on my HTC desire and it was working fine for a little while. Soon after recovering most of my apps + their data it seems unable to receive any calls. On their end it rings once then goes straight to voice mail and my phone does not respond. I can call others with no problems. I can receive texts but the phone doesn't make a noise, I'm not sure why. Also for some reason the lock screen inexplicably stopped working and when I wake it up it heads straight into the OS
I'm not very experienced with installing/troubleshooting custom ROMs and android phones in general so I'm wondering if anyone would please have any good ideas?
apps recovery
I did also used different rom and than tried to recover Facebook app on the MildWild 3.8 . From that moment i can not sync the facebook pictures with the
contacts in my phone. I assume that the recovery is not always working on new ROMs with the positive results . Sometimes it is better to install them from Market directly and let them sync than to install them on the phone with data.
I would recommend to you another fresh installation, and recovery of the apps one by one so you can see which one is doing the bordel .
I have been installing them from the market and recovering the data only. Still I suspect that is what is causing the problem..

Hi Nicholas,
I have exactly the same symptoms - both receiving calls + lock screen. Have you managed to fix it? If yes, how?
Thanks.

Hello everyone, as my title states. I am having a problem with my proximity sensor when in a call. I have a sprint galaxy note 2 (L900) and am currently running CarbonROM's nightlies (4.4.2). Before I was using the 4/10/14 nightlie and when I was in a call the sensor was stuck and kept my phone dark until the call ended. But now with the 4/17/14 nightlie, the phone is constantly on while in a call. Has anyone else have this issue using CarbonROM? If there's a fix please let me know. Much appreciated.

I'm currently on Carbon ROM nightly version 4-17 and I have the same issue. Did you find any info on this bug in the Carbon ROM forum? I think this needs to be looked into because I don't like face dialing while talking on the phone. lol

No I didn't find any fixes for it. I talked to one of the developers and they are looking into it BC when I entered the live chat I asked the same question and they responded with "let me guess, note 2?"they're not sure what's going on with the notes that is causing the bug. But I've been looking at the change logs hoping they fix it and my phone volume is really low when I'm talking to someone as well. Sometimes I can't even hear the caller so I have to switch to speaker :/
Thanks for the reply. As for the low volume during calls. You may already know this but try lowering the volume then raise it back up and that should increase the volume a lot. It's a bug in some AOSP ROMS.
I have tried that and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, unfortunately.

The proximity sensor issue has been fixed in the latest nightly build 4-23. Although now I can't sync my browser in Google account sync settings. All others seem to sync except browser. Could be another bug...
