There is no best kernal... just flash and test for yourself. Some phones prefer CFS to BFS, some like heavy undervolting some don't.
Flash and try it out yourself.

Dev section, for AOSP look for the thread by viperboy. big [MOD] in the thread title.
If you wish to get it for a Sense tom, then search Caulkin.
Many kernals are undervolted already, this script makes your phone run at even lower voltages. Good luck, make a back up as you probably will boot loop a couple until you find a good stable voltage drop.

If they are running Fresh's ROM with a custom kernel, that means they are already rooted. Oh and Nand unlocked too! Dumbass!
To the OP, SetCPU works great. Just be careful to not OC too much as this will make the system unstable and cause the screen to freeze.

On the other hand I will suggest him to OC as high as he Kernel or his processor allows him to this way he'll know what his limits are.I been able to OC to 1.22 when others can't go past 1.15 with the same Kernel.
I'm going to give pcmac the benefit of the doubt, and assume he was leaving info for non-rooted folks reading the thread who might have had the same question. No need to be so hostile, guys.
Good lookin out pcmac.
And another +1 for setcpu - the dev is offering it for free to xda members in a thread here somewhere.

Thanks for the link... I know there are more kernels out there for aosp's though. You know u can find the stock cm6 ones to try.
Also is there one that is known to work with verizon hot spot? It worked with the stock 6.0.1 but I haven't fine one that worked since.

If you actually looked at the links daftlush and smtom posted, they're all rather self explanatory. Adrynalyne has 2 (v1 and battery), KK has BFS or CFS depending on your flavor, Koush has inc-test2 and inc-test, and Chevy's are organized by what appears to be amount of voltage tweaking and OC. The last one I'm not 100% positive on though. TBH I don't see anything about Droid in there at all... except one link had EVO and other kernels, but the filenames are description enough at that site.

Dude WTF. You will get a different answer each time. You.have to experiment. Each phone/user are unique. Therefore there is no one perfect.combination.

Everybody has an opinion on this. Experience has shown that each phone has differences in how well certain ROMS/Kernels work. Trust me, just try different ROMS and see which one you like and which works best on your phone.
After trying many I have settled on Myn's Warm 2.2 RLS5. It is smooth as butter and everything works well on it. I have also found Netarchy's kernels work well on my phone and give me great battery life, even with heavy usage.
Again, don't be afraid to experiment and see what works best on your phone. Always make a Nand back up before you start.
You could have used search to find any of the 6 threads a week that start up asking the same dumb question.
It's like asking "I need a car, what's the best one?"

Well, make sure you have SetCPU as fast as it will go... and ALWAYS keep wifi and bluetooth on. Set the screen to maximum brightness!
Seriously though, don't ask questions like that, nobody is going to want to help you.
Every persons experience is different man why do you ask this once a week lol. Just flash and test yourself bro its so easy a caveman can do it.

i just got a mod does it have overclock?

so are the overclocks the apps from the market? or is it on the rom? i downloaded the eg30 series
Overclocking isn't a mod its a kernel thing. You overclock your CPU using an app like no frills or setcpu. Usually stock kernels can't be overclocked but you can flash a custom kernel to overclock your CPU. Hope this helps

If the eg30 rom is aosp then any aosp kernel will work if its not an aosp rom then make sure you flash a kernel made for touchwiz or whatever overlay it has. I don't have this phone so I'm not should what type of rom it is but the above statement should work also tegrak will work to help you overclock

Edit: Oh yeah overclocking... Whatever rom you use should address this issue if you read... AOSP (we don't have that on the ET4G yet so I won't get into that yet)

Thank you. And if he would look at my signature he would have noticed that I do more than help the community. The reason I reacted that way is he's giving advice about a phone he doesn't use or just purchased. And the advice is wrong which is not good. If the op wants more help they can pm me and I would be more than happy to answer their questions and help...

Flashing a kernal from phone

I am currently running Lithid-cm's HTC EVO 4G Freedom V 0.9 (stock) kernal. I want to find a new one that is great and that I can install straight from my phone. I also could use some directions on how to do it.
TIA
Sent from my Swagged Out Stock EVO
Download your kernel of choice from phone, use some sort of file explorer app to make sure its named PC36IMG.zip and also make sure its on the root of your SD card, then turn your phone off and turn back on holding volume down or hold down power and hit reboot and see if you have a hboot option. After all that volume up when prompted then again. I haven't flashed a new kernel in a while but I think that covers it.
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
Aside from what he said, all the kernels for Evo are signed. They do not need to be PC36IMGs . Just wipe cache and dalvik, and flash like anything else thru recovery.

Well, I just installed it last night so it might be a few days before I notice the difference in full. As of now, It's a little snappier. It was really easy and quick to install. I was in line at Walmart and did it, by the time I had to pay I was able to use my phone again.

I can say that I have noticed about a 2% battery life increase and about a 5% performance increase. Of course I don't have a lot of apps and I use it light-normal now that I don't use Facebook. I also messed with my http and rstp and that helped with the 3g.
